I'm heading off to the Caribbean in late November/early December. I'm doing a repositioning cruise that will encompass the Eastern, Southern and Western Caribbean all in one. I've been to all the islands I will be stopping at but, for the most part, they are all worth another stop.

I'm heading to Germany to visit the village from where my great grandfather came - Aulosen for a couple of days,
travelling to France for a coffee under the Eiffel tower, then to the UK and Ireland to find the graves, houses and areas of other ancestors.

Any ideas for cheap, safe accommodation and travel greatly accepted.

Hey Agapantha,
In May, I went to visit friends in Fort Worth, Texas....great place to visit. I met up with friends I met on line there, we did alot just in and around the Stockyards of Fort Worth. We went to the Cowboy and Cowgirl Halls of Fame, rodeo'd one night, went to Billy Bob's (honkey tonkin), and rode an old time train from Grapevine, TX back to the Historical Stockyards.
In July, I'm heading up to Michigan to go to the Upper Peninsula, I'm going to ride horses on the island where Somewhere In Time was filmed, starring Christopher Reeve. Then maybe even a train ride into Canada.
I've been to England and Thailand, loved England, won't go back to another Asian country....tooooo strange! Happy Trails to all! Caddie97

Ashley,
The Rockies in Alberta/BC are awesome. Banff/Jasper area Alberta, is a great area to visit. (about 1 hour west of Calgary.)

For 2007 I'm probably not going to get farther than visits to the folks in Alberta.

For 2008 I've got my eye on Antarctica, though!

A half summer of mixed climbing (rock climbing and mountain climbing).

Next week take off for Calgary, do some climbing at the gym and maybe find myself a nice rock wall to lead. Head to Golden and then to the Alpine club of Canada's General Mountaineering camp for two weeks.

Head back to Calgay for a week and get some scrambles and some rock walls in. Then out to Yoho national Park and mountain climbing there. So I hope in a three weeks mountaineering to do 40,000+m summed in climbing. A nice relaxing vacation
