Maybe we're just waiting for someone to grab the bull by the horns. I saw where somebody in Vegas or someplace just said, I got it! And ran with it...
Here's the deal. I live in Austin. Even for those in Dallas, Ft. Worth, Arlington, s. OK, that probably wouldn't be a bad trip. We're a good central location. If everyone can come to Austin, I'll agree to go ahead and work with POF to coordinate the event! Now I can't pay for it, but I can sure organize it. Have done lots of small events in the past!
Are enough game to take me up on it? And of course, if there are one or two in Austin who want to help, I won't refuse it. We can make it a holiday party either in mid-November or early-December. I'll slate out some weekends, and we'll just pick 'em and go! All you Dallas guys and gals! Would you be willing to come to Austin? | |

Hey, I'm down for Austin in mid-November... the only thing hindering the ability of the moderators to help is the fact that they all seem to be from Canada. Saturday would be an obvious choice... maybe the 13th or 20th? There's a gazillion places on 6th street, pretty much just pick one and call 'em. What's that place, upstairs from Katz', next to Ninfa's, a little past Congress (headed west on the N. side of the street?)
I have no messaging restrictions (and I get a notice in my yahoo when I get a msg on POF) -- for reasons like this -- so y'all please send a note if the idea of something like this interests ya. (and yes there are plenty of ppl from TX here in the forums!)

you're right, bart... plenty of places to go. we've even got a guy on here that manages one of them. just need to know if we can get enough interest. | |

I do think Austin is the most central area and could draw more people from other cities than Dallas or Houston. Plus there are Houstonians that avoid DFW and thos from DFW that avoid Houston, less animosity towards Austin I think for those that don't already reside in the area. | |

I can't do thursdays or fridays because my son plays football, but pretty much any other night of the week is good...

Whats the clubthere Indian? I was at SPILL last weekend, pretty cool place (though I'm an Aggie) I left with ag ood impression of 6th street. BTW the OMNI hotel kicks major a***.
Anyhoo, MODs? Austin may only have like 1600 around it, but people driving in from other cities would be substantial if it was POF sanctioned i think...

Austin is a great town and the stockyards in Ft Worth are a real party place, Dallas scares me tho...probably cuz I havent spent alot of time there in any capacity, easy to get lost in Dallas.
