I met a guy ONCE for coffee, only as friends. We both knew nothing would come of it. About 8 months later he contacted me asking if I would meet him in the Jakarta (Indonesia, where I was living at the time) Airport. I did, and we ended up travelling together through south-east asia and I got him a job in Jakarta.

Btw, he was living in Canada at the time. Thats half way across the world he flew to meet a chick he only met once. Crazy! We are still great friends today!
