Lol…I couldn’t help but fall over laughing at this one…..
I hope you didn't hurt yourself when you toppled.
If you were to read carefully you'll see I said "they tended to be more accountable in their posts".
There is a difference between people being accountable or people tending to be more accountable. Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone, but it you choose to dispute the fact the some people are more accountable that is your prerogative. | |

If they delete my message without reading ....
You get the drift?
I can't imagine someone investing soo much time "collecting faves"
Aren't "we" looking for that special someONE.????

No, not redundant. As was pointed out earlier, it makes it moot.
In the global help forum there was thread started yesterday morning about the favorites not being displayed. In only a few hours it was 8 pages long and very active, until the forum server crashed yesterday evening.
I see the thread has been deleted and wonder if the high rate of posts being made on that thread contributed to the server crash. | |

I am indifferent to this decision to remove the number of favorites from a profile page. | |

So you are suggesting that people here are so shallow they'd only be attracted to you because of your appearance?

My identical (evil,evil) twin had over 100 favourites. I think people like to be able to attach a face to the person they are adding to their favorites list. If have a favorites list, how many people on it are faceless?
Even POF encourages members to put up a pic to increase their chances of success.
I know there are some fellows out there who like to look at bewbage. I think that is superficial. My identical (evil, evil) twin never went that low - --- sorry, never wore anything cut that low. | |

ummm.. wondering how many guys put Madam X on their fav list because of her pics???? lol
I had many men put me on their favorites list, if they contacted me regarding one of my posts or was just interested in finding out more about me, I would let them keep me on their list. If they did not contact me within a week or so, buh bye! | |

Rude posts - never! My evil twin didn't even write rude posts although I think some sensitive souls perceived them this way. And, me, Sweet Jane, it just will not happen.
X, who had the favorites, never cleaned her list off. She liked to collect favourites. Believe it or not --- and you will probably choose not --- X received POF messages from members who liked her posts and added her for this reason.
However those days are gone! Cause X is gone and favorites are gone and as long as I am not gone it is all good, don't ya kinda of think?
Please lighten up and have some fun! These are forums. You can take your rage out on people in the real world - - - joke.

Case in Points:

I am sweet Jane = assumption and subjective, the adjective describes a condition without proof, self-praise should only be used after it found general consensus to its truthfulness
even without a picture I have favourites = assumption, the presence of a picture may only improve numbers if the picture or person in it is generally perceived as worth while;
the term favorites is one option word chosen by the site creator, users are free to determine whether the persons they keep in that folder are likable as in a favorite or the opposite as in avoid and stay clear.
You are also asking others to assume that it is so despite the fact you take other people as superficial ????
I am not popular simply because I do not have a picture = assumption, your interpretation of how you view the world and people in it;
of the many possibilities (hypothesizing, no offense intended) people may simply not like what they read, or know you and not like you or simply never seen your profile....

assumption, it is common that most people generally like other people to have a face, it completes a recognition of another homo sapien, otherwise some may have difficulties to differentiate from the ancestral simian line of our species

reality= some "bewbage" is just present and cannot be overlooked when looking at the owner
opposite case scenario, some are just not obviously present and "fellas" who engage in contact simply attempt to attach the right gender to the "face" to avoid possible embarrassment

given that we are still unclear if such twin has a physical presence or not I can only assume Jane is not real as Xavery made an appearance at some social functions
and here your assumption is correct, evidence has it that one cannot cut anything out of nothing in which case the only other option is to cover up nothing.
And so we are no closer to resolve the mystery of why or not one has or not or even is in the favorites
We could however conclude the battle between X who was a physical presence and Jane who can hence only be a fiction will continue.
Oddly enough since Jane claims X didn't write rude post we must conclude Jane did....
the only way to clear the mystery and shed light on it would be for POF to simply delete Jane's profile since X is already gone. Of course that would have to include an IP ban else we are likely to encounter more ghosts.
And really wouldn't we all prefer not having ghosts, shesh, the haunting can be scary. | |
