I lived in Paris 3 yrs and it took me that long to finally get used to them and I'm french so imagine. You go to Paris for history not for the Parisians, lol.

Posted: 5/31/2007 8:51:35 AM | One of the great ( and little known stories) of the wonderful mindset of the French was shown during the Vietnam Peace talks. Kissinger was secretly flying into Paris to set them up, and it posed a serious problem to keep such an event quiet.
Someone told the French that Kissinger was going there for romantic reasons, and wished to be "below the radar" presswise. 
The secret was kept.
Try that anywhere else, and see where it gets you.  | |

French can be white and olive skinned.I am talking about the native French here and by the same token.......Arabs can be white and olive skinned .Its just that if we know that they are Arab..............and look white .....we still say.......oh..non white and thats because we KNOW that this is an Arab .I have seen whiter/ lighter looking Arabs than Italians or Greeks .
Case in point is Zinedine Zidane and he is a full Arab or Berber
Nothing much to choose btw the Swedes and Swiss.except blonde Swedish girls may have the edge.........................lol

they were the ones 'sophisticated' enough to lead the whole world to war, twice, and cost millions of deaths,
'sophisticated' enough to run pogroms against ethnic minorities,
'sophisticated' enough to cause the death of millions of Ukrainians by forced starvation.
"sophisticated" enough to run programs of ethnic & religious hatred and "ethnic cleansing" in the former Yugoslavia,..murder, rape and torture of hundreds of thousands..

I love the jokes but they are silly. By the way........France isnt in NATO. And as for a country that cant win a war. Lately the US aint doing so hot. Can someone realy tell me what the heck we are doing in Iraq besides giving ragheads target practice? What is the military think they are doing. No way to win a war. If your not gonna do it right just get out ok. Personally I think this crappy 3rd class war is just a way for defense contractors to raid the US treasury.......just like Vietnam was. I have yet to see any evidence to the contrary. | |

Someone mentioned the military history of the Swedes. Before my misprint I had mentioned it. I just would not take much pride in being a Viking, which was my point, that having a strong military tradition says nothing positive about the culture you live in. Is the bully on the playground superior to ones he steals lunch money from?
And I read up more on Charlemagne after the post, I jus remembered from the watered down 2 page summary in my high school book he was labeled French and upon research his culture would have been much more related to France than any other. Seems like people are thinkin French are biologically impaired or somethin, like if an American were raised in France, that he would then be a great soldier. I don't believe in any rascism whatsoever, but bein "rascist" against members of the same race takes it to a brand new stupidity. People do it to Jews, Irish an occasionnally Germans nowadays too.
Now to World War 2. Still not a good comparison. The axis were much more of a threat to us than Al Qaida or Iraq. Hitler was actually taking over large areas and threatening to defeat the strongest countries in Europe with direct military confrontation, and we would have been next and had no chance after Europe was handled or if poetic justice didn't suffice by making us "the bomb". We attacked thinking of the future, while WE actually had help, and it was correct to do so. But Iraq? They tried Kuwait and they weren't lookin to expand thier "empire" for a long long while. | |

A french worker is harder to fire than a autoworker at GM, and the French berucuarcy is holding the economy back with so much red tape you have to pay mordida or palm grease to get thngs done. DeGaulle probadly did not envision bunch of freeloaders sucking the system dry, and croynism. France will fix the problems in time, but I dont expect the French elite will be too happy about it. France used to world best chiefs, but now if they see American, or British tourist they will micorwave a tv dinner, and serve it to you and charge 20 bucks for the meal. Attitude or arrogance, or nacarriscm in france got to Change.  | |
