If we dwell on the negatives we will never overcome them. What good is life if you stand still and never take any steps forward?
I think talking about negative's help more then trying to hide them.
But I also think no matter how hard you try you will never overcome them. Or you might be able to get rid of certain one's. But they will be replaced by other's. We are not god. We are human's. As long as we are on this earth you will all have negative thing's about you and negative thing's you do.I just wonder why it is so easy for everyone on here to tell all these positive thing's about themselve's but ya cant say what's wrong or what bad thing's you do.You say everyone focuses on the bad thing's. Yea,,,,,,,, But they dont do it to themselve's. They only talk about the good when it come's to themselve's. To me you are a real human being if you tell all the good and bad. If you just tell all the good and that's it,,,,,it make's you look fony.JMO.

1. Singleminded.
2. Strong. Not physically as much as mentally.
3. Stubborn, is a good quality if you are right.
4. Comprimising. Can admit when I am wrong, even shpw it with actions.
5. Loving. I'll never stop loving someone, even when they want me to stop! (seen as a negative sometimes, as well as FEELS like one too! )
6. Smart. I act stupid sometimes, but I am far from it.
7. Independant. I can live with, or without a woman, I dont NEEEEED one. I do want one, but thats a differant post.
8. Tough. I can handle anything anyone throws at me, whether it is physical, mental, emotional, doesnt matter. They may think they "won" but I never fall down! I can take anything! | |

We all have good points and bad points.
We can improve the quality of our life if we focus on our good points.
So I like your thread from the start because it 'causes you to stop and be postitive about yourself.
I said I liked this thread from the start..........
I am new here and I am still learning. I must ask;
Why does someone want to act like a smarta** and spoil the purpose I think this thread was meant to have. I would be ticked a bit if I started this thread, by what got started, say somewhere around post #16. Yes I know there is a lot of cutting up in the forums and a lot of fun to have. Just don't see the point of making fun of someone when they mention things/traits they like about themselves.
Fishes, if I am wrong here, fill me in. Like I said, I am kinda new here. (SMARTA**ES, your comments are NOT necessary -- know 'em before you say 'em already!!)

1. Curious
2. Listener
3. Voyer - not meaning with the eyes - just listen alot and learn
4. Understand the meaning of those who know more speak less
5. Learned from the past
6. Enjoy life
7. Respect others (when deserving and sometimes when not)
8. Brave enough to voice my opinion when I feel it is necessary
Since #2 and #3 sorta are the same I have one more.
9. I have 8 fingers, two thumbs and I can make two fists.

Posted: 6/1/2007 10:07:42 PM | Wolfie - I can't speak for anyone but myself....but I know what my faults are. I also know what things I can and should change about myself. Life is a work in progress and no I probably won't ever overcome all the negatives in my life. I believe though that if I focus on the positive and moving forward that I stand a better chance of becoming a better person...than if I just had the attitude as oh well noones perfect so I am not going to try to better myself because it doesnt matter anyway. That's just me and the way I chose to live my life. I am not trying to hide anything. I have negatives in my life and in my personality but the point of this thread was to list the positives and thats what I did along with others.

Ok 8 positive thing's about me. In this order.
1. Im a loving father.
2. Im very honest about anything and everything. Im really not a millionaire.lol
3. Im funny.
4. Im naughty. That can be good trust me.
5. Im laid back.
6. Im faithful in a serious relationship. Just because I like sex does not make me evil
7. Im fun to be with. You will never get bored with me...lol
8. Im a great listener.

I love me cause I am the only grown up that will, or does.
I probably should keep my trap shut but those of you who know me know that's impossible sometimes, even when it gets me into major trouble.
Big Daddy, you can't imagine the number of times I have felt this same way and still do at times. But, there is always someone who loves us. I have had to learn this through several classes at the School Of Hard Knocks. Even when we are totally alone, feeling down and out, desolate, lost and confused; God will always be there to love us. There are always others in our lives who love us also. We may not know it at the time and it's possible they may not even know it, but they are there. Oh, I well know well how hard it is to accept this, but it's true.
Wolfie, we do all have our positives and our negatives, hell something that's a positive today may be a negative tomorrow. I try to see both in my life and make an honest attempt at using the positives to cancel out the negatives. However, many times it does not work. In keeping with your comments, here are 8 of what I feel are my negative points, people who know me well can probably come up with numerous others.
1. Headstrong - Tend to rush into things at too fast a pace
2. Caring - Yes, this can be a negative if you have a tendency to care too much
3. Speak My Mind - Gets me into trouble ALOT!
4. Analytical - Tend to over think and over analyze EVERYTHING
5. Logical - Goes with #4, life itself is not logical but my brain wants to make it that way
6. Patience - Something I have very little of
7. Love to Learn - Yes, a negative, goes with #3 and I get labeled a "know - it - all"
8. Stubborn - Always stand my ground if I feel I'm right

I think that in some ways you are right...But....and you know there would be one here...I have no problem talking about the negative aspects of my life....and yes, there are quite a few....but who and when I divulge such info to are few and far between. Am I living in a fantasy world? I think not...I am one of the most realistic, down to earth people you will ever meet...I always strive to call it as I see it.
You say everyone focuses on the bad thing's. Yea,,,,,,,, But they dont do it to themselve's.
Right again! But the point is that when we have so many negative hurtful things coming at us in our day to day worlds from other directions what is the harm in building ourselves up?? If we don't champion ourselves and see the good in ourselves...no one else will!!

2. I care ~ I have a huge amount of empathy for others and the plights they go through in life.
3. I love deeply ~ without reservations. I don’t mean to say that I don’t see the flaws in others; I am able to overlook them in light of the greater good that is inherent in people.
4. I’m loyal ~ nothing could sway me to betray the ones I love.
5. I’m independent ~ I can take care of me and mine, I don’t need someone to support me or to do things for me, I can learn how to do what I don’t know.
6. I’m unique ~ there is no one else in the world exactly like me.
7. I’m optimistic ~ with of course the requisite realistic expectations. No rose colored glasses here folks.
8. I’m stubborn ~ yes, I see this as a redeeming quality. It means that I will not falter in my thoughts and opinions. | |
