Some things that totally put the for me was:

One who kept talking bitter about his ex
Too much drama in their life
Asked how soon we were going to have sex
Missing and bad teeth

Other things that would:

Criminal history
Drugs
Drinking problems
STD

If he is in his 30s and still living with his mom, I book it.
But even worse, is if he has children and doesn't support them emotionally or financially. Then i have zero respect.
All these things that turn us off amount to one thing...us not respecting them...and respect is paramount to be with someone and to love them.

Gosh lots of things.

Someone who tells you they were arrested for domestic violence. Had that happened to me on a first date.
Someone who told me they had to masturbate more than once a day. Had that done to
Someone once told me on a first date that I looked weird in my glasses and asked me pick up the tab.
Someone who uses the word hate alot. To me, that says they have an anger issue.
Someone who talks about their ex constantly and uses the word psycho when talking about an ex.
Someone who shows up on a date, clearly on something....drugs or on the date drinks way too much.
Someone who tells you that they could fall in love with you. Had that happen to me.
How can someone be in love with you on a first date?

"I can see myself spending the rest of my life with you"

"Should I move in with you and the kids or get my own place to start?"

"Are jobs pretty abundant in your area?"

"Let's go make babies"

"Damn, she's hot, let go have a 3-some"

"Damn, he's hot, let go have a 3-some"

"The voices told me..."

ha ha...I have quite a few of these...here are mine!

Do not tell me that you want to kill a man that I am very good freinds with because you are a jealous moron and you want me to yourself! This is not cute! PYSCHO!!!

Do not tell me you believe single woman have dogs for sexual pleasure...YOU ARE A NASTY AND DISGUSTING PERVERT!!!

Do not tell me you have a hair fetish so you want to wrap my hair around your penis and jerk off!! FREAK!!!!

Do not tell me that I 'can't' do something because I don't have your "permission". You have just simply lost your damn mind. LOSER!!!

I know lots more but these are the ones I was misfortunate enough to experience. So please...a little class goes a long way!!!

I didn't make it to the first date, but after the conversations, decided it was best not to even meet him. He asked (first conversation) when we go on our first date could he bring his sister along? I asked if he was in need of a chaperone for some reason. He said no, she's sitting right next to me while we converse on messenger and she's anxious to meet you. Then he tells me that he's looking for a wife. Not that there's really anything wrong with that, but I don't think that's a good icebreaker. He goes on to say he's been in and out of prison for several years or so. He has few ex-wives and he has a set of twins that are really young that he's never met because the mother moved back to Jamaica to keep him from getting a paternity test. Oh, did I mention he was in prison when he made these twins? He calls because he's out driving with his sister and wants to know if we could meet for a date that day. I had to work. Thank God. Can anyone say RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN?

There was a guy I wanted to meet in a more secure location than he had suggested, as it would be closer for me to jet if I had been uncomfortable, but he wanted to meet pretty far out of the way. When I asked him why, he said that his parents won't take him any further than this place for his first date. WTF!!?? He was 36 and was telling me his parents wouldn't let him go somewhere for a first date.

I want to sign a contract to be your boyfriend
I want you to meet my six year old daughter, she will change your life.
I am going to kiss you like you've never been kissed before.
Well, let's talk about how we are going to handle our long distance relationship.
I feel like I've known you forever.
Let's go shopping; I have Dillard's express account.
Have you thought about having more children?
Oh, and the guy who kept staring at my TOTALLY covered chest, gave me "a huggie" goodbye...........like ew.....

-"I really enjoy dogfighting. I don't see what's wrong with it."
-"I'm really short on money. Can I borrow some from you?"
-"I have three children with three different women. Don't worry, I don't pay child support because they don't know where to find me."
-"I chose this restaurant because my wife hates it - she'll never know we're here."

I really dont understand people objecting to the fact that someone has never been married. I am 31 and have never been married! Things happen!

It s better then having been married once at the age of 16! I'd say it is better then being divorced actually!

Anyway.... I met a guy for lunch. We had spoken on the phone after having chatted on the internet for about 2 - 3 weeks every other day. Seemed like a good idea. When he turned up, he didn't smile, he was nervous so I let it fly, and started talking. He was nice enough, after I finished my coffee I noticed he had a photo album. In the photo album, he flicked through the pages to show me photographs of a few friends, his house and his family. In one photograph, he was standing in the loungeroom of his house with a dog in his arms and he was CRYING. I asked him what happened to the dog. He said the photograph was taken before she was put down. I thought it very odd that he would show me THIS photo, or ....photos of himself........ always wearing the same clothes and the same clothes he was wearing on the date!

1. Tells me that he's still married/in a relationship.
2. Tells me he's homophobic.
3. Says something racists.
4. Tells me he just got out of jail or has a criminal record.
5. Tells me he's got an addiction problem to anything!
6. Tells me he hates his mother.
7. Tells me he killed his mother.
8. B*tches and/or whines about women like he's a victim. (Actually had a date do this. See #17 below.)
9. B*tches and/or whines about any of his ex's.
10. Tells me he has kids when I asked him earlier if he had kids and he said "no" (BUSTED! LAUNCHED!)
11. Catch him in any lie. (GONE! NEXT!)
12. Tell me he's in serious financial debt.
13. Eats like a pig/starved animal. No table manners or common sense.
14. If I find out he's selfish.
15. Find out that he's a "recovering male-whore" and is now looking to "settle down". (HELLO! CAN YOU SAY: STDs!?!)
16. Didn't shave, bathe or otherwise looks like he didn't take a moment to get ready for the date. That he just crawled out of a sewer somewhere. (I didn't know they got cellphone reception in a sewer...)
17. Tells me over and over how he was "raped" by a girl yet never tried to stop the girl and was an active, willing participant in the sex act humping away like a champ and climaxing. He was completely sober and aware. The accused "rapist" was a tiny, 5'4", unarmed woman who he even said was sweet and nice, he liked her and she didn't force herself on him, wasn't his boss or a person in a position of power, so how he got "raped" from that is beyond me. Ugh!

^^^ True story. About a month ago I met a guy who told me the above, over and over. I tried to be supportive but he kept bringing it up and when I met him-- he's a big guy[6'4" 230 lbs]. Turns out he just has a victim mentality. He's one of those people that's a victim in everything-- at least in his head. He's a hypochondriac too and allergic to everything. Well, I'm allergic to bulls**t. Sorry. NEXT!

I know what you mean! Seriously, how COULD someone honestly be in love with you on the first date. And even if there IS such a thing as love at first site, he was SOOOO controling. ALmost like he was desperate to be in love, not desperate to be with ME. Now he just can't get it through his head. UGH!

That she would do ANYTHING for her kids, and yes, she had received more than one eviction notice because she had decided instead to make sure her kids had "what they need" (like a GameBoy apparently...)

OMG - you've met my ex!

I think the "Damned bill collectors won't leave me alone..." comment would send me running...

This is an awesome thread. It gave me some early morning amusement. While everyone has some history and some may not be all that great, one would think you would have enough sense to not throw it in the face of the new people you meet (go see the baggage thread!) But we also need to be careful we don't judge quickly in all cases. Recently I had a meet and greet with a very nice fellow that told me he has only a bed and two chairs in his house and isn't working. Sounds scary according to what I've heard here... but actually, he is in the process of moving his things to storage, and selling his house. He retired early on a pension and is going to go do some traveling and studying. Sometimes what sounds bad can be found to be really nothing so make sure you investigate before judging (except maybe those icky fetish things and other sexual advances). ON THE OTHER HAND... while I've never been out with anyone who truly scared me or made me feel ill, recently I went out with a guy who kept talking about "homos". He didn't "care what they did as long as they left him alone." He was worried about the park where we were going for a walk because of how many "homos" hung out there. He was talking about how he was sure these two guys were stalking him out there one time. I don't know how many times he brought up the "homo" subject--honestly, I've never met anyone truly homophobic before. I asked him why he was so worried about it, and told him I was quite sure that they were not interested in a straight guy. It came up several more times after that and at the end of the date he asked if I would go out with him again. I told him sure, but he needed to know my brother was gay. He's never called me again!
