| looking to set up a POF get together in TampaBay Area Posted: 6/18/2005 9:44:35 PM | i gave it some serious thought, Ft. desoto beach is nice, but it is voted best beach, lots of big crowds will be there now. But I think we should stick to the main plan.
july 9th is approaching, would like to hear more input.

| looking to set up a POF get together in TampaBay Area Posted: 6/20/2005 1:46:06 PM | woodu I think the name is the Fred Howard Park in Tarpon Springs. You can put it in mapquest for directions. I know it's on US 19, it's just a matter of watching as you pass which traffic light... Just a suggestion, but if there's a bunch of you from Sarasota/bradenton you might write them and carpool. | |

| looking to set up a POF get together in TampaBay Area Posted: 6/21/2005 8:32:25 AM | | Thanks for the suggestion, but it seems that I am the only person south of tampa that is interested. Most of the people down here think that Tampa and St. Pete is in another state, I lived in St. Pete for 3 years and loved it, I can't wait for the get together. | |

| looking to set up a POF get together in TampaBay Area Posted: 6/21/2005 10:05:19 PM | thunderbird, We are going for july 9th at 2:00pm. I am not sure if they allow Bar B Qing there. I am going up this weekend and check out the rules and so I can lay out the easiest directions for those unfamiliar with the area there. Once I get all that info I will post it here on the thread. | |

http://www.pinellascounty.org/park/06_Howard.htm
Everyone, go check it out......I was thinking of Anderson park, NOT Howard Park when I was thinking it was ON US 19...I've been here, too, it's gorgeous!!!
Also, someone needs to call and reserve a shelter.

| looking to set up a POF get together in TampaBay Area Posted: 6/23/2005 9:45:50 PM | OK......I got a shelter at Howard park. We will be in shelter #4, if you have to ask one of the park services people where exactly that is (as I probably will. LOL) Tell them you are with the Plenty Of Fish group.
I know we set the time for 2:00pm....but I have to be there by noon to secure the shelter, so if anyone else wants to come early, you are more than welcome!!!!
I want to say thanks to everybody for helping me see this go through!
You plenty of fishers are the best!!!!!!!!

| looking to set up a POF get together in TampaBay Area Posted: 6/25/2005 8:38:16 AM | I'm not sure if they have a volleyball net at Howard Park or not. But I do know they have some great spots on the beach there for stretching out my hammock.
In regards to Ft. DeSoto being too busy, that's one thing I wouldn't worry about. Normally, when a beach receives a #1 ranking like that, they see about a 15% increase in overall visitors (this figure comes from TBO.com). Ft. DeSoto is a very large park, so there is always plenty of space for everyone.
I think it would be a great idea to have an event at BOTH parks. Do this upcoming one at Howard Park, then follow it up a week or two later at Ft. DeSoto.
Sincerely, Mitch | |

You guys have fun!!!
drink up.
I went to Tarpon Springs High some 18 years ago, and just as it was then, it is now. No Open Containers in county parks. Just incase anyone didn't know that. This should be great to meet some of yall I have seen on the forums in person. I promise to be good and I won't wear my bunny suit unless gypsy or bucsgirl specifically request it.
