| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/3/2007 2:10:47 PM | I'm too small to be a BBW apparently (so have 'a few extra pounds' on my profile).........got a mate who is a BBW. I'm honest about the size i am on my profile, if people choose to not read it, and just go by the pics....then they have themselves to blame really.
It's weird as one person i dated for 4 weeks, knew my size, he saw me on cam, before meeting. Then that long into dating, he said 'wouldn't i like to be a size 10/12 again, and better myself' Well, errrr no i wasn't happy then being slim, and i'm quite happy now!

| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/4/2007 7:56:06 AM | I just took it to mean overweight without being what you'd call big. It's all down to perception though - I mean someone on here thinks that Kylie's a normal size | |

| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/4/2007 7:59:29 AM | | A few extra pounds to me, means an unread deleted post. I find women are very diplomatic with the truth when it comes to matters of how much poundage one carries. | |
|
| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/4/2007 8:10:37 AM | i am what i am
im a bbw proud of who and what i am and very happy with my reflection. What you see is what you get.
A few extra pounds is only a title..i had thought since we all had to post a pic.....the words were irrelevant anyway

| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/4/2007 8:50:16 AM | | What about letting others judge your size? or would that allow the meanies to have a dig? | |
|
| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/4/2007 8:58:03 AM | isn't it just dressing up the same thing with different words .... i know fat people have feelings too but they aren't fooling anyone .. whether it be BBW, voluptuous, curvy, buxom, blah, blah blah ... it all comes down to the same thing ... overweight !! (i would put fat but i'm just being polite!) | |
|
| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/4/2007 9:05:37 AM | | I'm a dress size 10 but I'm not thin or athletic I would say that I'm curvy but I'm not carrying a few extra pounds so put average, but whats average anyway? | |

Ahhh fibbers about poundage. I hate them too. Theres no point in lieing about weight. Its pretty flippin obviouse. I dont think size is an issue unless the person who is big makes it one, an is its the other person with an issue about size then they are pretty shallow an not worth the trouble.

| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/4/2007 9:06:54 AM | isn't it just dressing up the same thing with different words .... i know fat people have feelings too but they aren't fooling anyone Has it ever ocurred to you that different terms exist because the people in question are perceived in different ways by people other than yourself? Perhaps some of us actually like those:
BBW, voluptuous, curvy, buxom women & would apply those words with specific body types in mind?

its the same as saying skinny and meaning painfully thin or bag of bones...
there is NO NO NO NO NO NO intention to fool anyone. We are all who we are and its only the ignorant who cannot grasp that its horses for courses and we all have different tastes and perceptions of what is big and is not... just as what is attractive or not. You clearly dont like big, curvy, large, bbw or fat women.. and of course your choice..but the sad part is you clearly dont see that many many others do and in no way see being large, cuvy, voluptuous etc as something to be ashamed of (or indeed feel the need to say something they are not)and because they like it will use language to describe it in a POSITIVE fashion.....
as in if you like big you would say bbw or voluptuous..instead of obese or fat..in the same manner if you like a size zero you would say slight or petite..as opposed to anorexic bag of bones.
besides just as well the idea of 'big' or peoples perception of what is large is different to different people or a hell of a lot of men would have a smile wiped from their faces lol
lou..voluptuous/ bbw and in no way hiding it, ashamed of it and laughing at those who think its something to be ashamed of xx

| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/4/2007 2:43:32 PM | | I'm more than a few extra pounds over my recommended weight but the only other option is 'Big & Tall/BBW' - which I dont really feel applies to me. | |

I'm more than a few extra pounds over my recommended weight You don't look it from your photos.
|
| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/4/2007 3:17:07 PM | | i dont give a hoot.. im me these days full stop !! Im bigger than i should be... if i dont sit down im fine... but to put average would be disillusional to most !!! by saying few extra pounds ... means be open to ur expectations lol ! and yes some would say curvy .. ive been dead slim and woud like to be again..im much larger than id like tob e, i just cant shift it ! so saying 'few extra pounds' to me means room for improvement !!!!! ( i just bought vicky wow dvd... janice off corrie..) cant wait till im mended on my op tomo an i can get stuck into that and be a size 6 again... infact ive never been a size six.. heres hoping ;) | |

| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/4/2007 3:21:02 PM | I reckon that as the average man is a few extra pounds overweight, I feel comfortable calling myself average! | |
|
| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/4/2007 3:24:46 PM | well what does average mean? does it mean overweight since there are probably (I guess) more people who are overweight than underweight? if average means overweight then does 'a few extra pounds' mean a few more on top of average?
Maybe im overanalysing this.... at the end of the day it makes no difference to me.. I am what I am.
(just seen the post above, seems like we both got the same thought)

| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/4/2007 3:41:32 PM | I don't have any problem with this description.
If a woman claims that she is has 'a few extra pounds', then she more than anyone will know if that is correct.
Besides, there isn't a clearly-defined distinction between that and 'bbw', especially as some women called themselves 'bbw' and plainly aren't.
VVVVVVVVVV Since we are talking about weight, the 'big' bit, obviously!
BTW I like the comment "I'm not overweight, I'm undertall".
|
| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/4/2007 3:44:14 PM | some women called themselves 'bbw' and plainly aren't. But which 'b' of the bbw is it that they aren't, Vin?
I, incidentally, am NOT in the category of 'a few extra pounds' or 'bbw'. I'm just a bit short for my weight.......
|
| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/4/2007 3:55:04 PM | Hmm. Does body type not include height too? I'm slimmish but not thin, but I didn't choose average 'cos I thought I was quite tall at 5'6, ('til I seen Pants!!! ... )I've got a few extra pounds on my gut?! But rest of me is athletic/average/slim with thin legs n arms?! ... stoopid choices!!! | |
|
| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/4/2007 4:24:38 PM | I found the whole weight choice a hard one, went with few extra pounds in the end after looking at other profiles.... couldnt find the 'beached whale' catagory for me | |
|
| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/4/2007 4:36:20 PM |
but whats average anyway? Isn't the national 'average' for women a size 16/18?
.... but reading through the posts, I think I better change mine to 'a few extra pounds'
|
| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/4/2007 11:47:31 PM | | I think there should be mor options,i have in the past had a few extra pounds up but alot of men took that as fat, well then i saw some sort of survey poll that said the average woman in britian is a size 16 so i changed it as i'm a 14 sometimes 16 on the top(big busties) so i do think they should have a few more options.Anyone i speak to with a view to meeting or who i have met know i'm not slim tho as i dont hide the fact. | |
|
| A few extra pounds Posted: 6/5/2007 4:01:52 AM | Think my profile is due a change as i'm a 14 most of the time so i am below average wwwwwwwwwhhhhhhooooooooppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee | |
