Posted: 6/5/2007 1:50:02 AM | I totally agree with the OP on this, and I am not sure some of the posters know what she meant. I have dated girls that were what most men would say were not so hot, and as time went on, their nice personalities made them beautiful to me, I mean I actually got more physically attracted to them and saw them as physically beautiful as I learned their personalities.
On the other hand, I am from Michigan, and I have met thousands (yes thousands) of women that were physically beautiful that got really ugly in only 5 minutes of conversation. Yes I lost all physical attraction because of their personalities.
God, I am so glad to be in the heartland !! When I compliment a woman here on her looks, their eyes light up, and they smile and act like a woman should act when complimented. | |

If you read the date the thread was begun, it says the 4th of the june and the OP is referring to the shenanigans of the night before i.e. Sunday night. I seem to remember you posting then. Hope this clears things up for you a little bit. | |

Posted: 6/5/2007 5:28:51 PM | I think the forums give far more of an insight into peoples personality than profiles ever can...and yes I do warm to people as I read more. Physical looks are pretty irrelevant to me- after all it is the first thing to go as we age!
I realise that some people do not always get when I am being deliberately provocative, to me it makes a debate more interesting! People have moods and opinions, and strong emotions on certain subjects, but hey that is what makes us human. I try never to make personal comments on threads...I may not agree with someone, but that does not mean their views are less valid than mine, I will shoot the message not the messenger. If I offend anyone, then feel free- pull me up on the thread, or by mail...if I am wrong (or later appreciate I went too far) I am happy to apologise...
To the original poster, yes, I think if someone shows an ugly (to me) personality - racist, intolerance or ignorant....then I would find them less attractive. | |

Anyway. Main thread and my comments on it. I have known alot of fantastic looking girls/women who would be considered as "model material" to most men, but their personality didn't suit their looks... it felt like as if they were contradicting what they were trying to percieve on the outside. the whole innocent, cute, happy smily girl who do anything for her man... pffft plllease!!!... they turned out to be bossy boots with a bad attitude problem etc... not attractive in my opinion.
I have also known some very unattractive women (physically) but have wonderful personalities. Just a shame that you cant get a good mix of great looks and a great personality too alot more often than what is available. But yes i often find that the good looking have a ugly personality (not always)
But on here i try not to judge people too quickly based on one opinion/post... but i do quite dislike people who post "i agree with this person"... waste of time and unattractive to me but i'm not going into that. It would be nice to view more unique opinions and comments that have more explanation in their post... which is probably why me and Vin dont exactly get along on great terms because we're too much a-like and cant stand ourselves lol. (not making fun of Vin or being nasty what so ever to him) | |

Quick answer then..I hadn't considered you to be a numpty at all. I remember your response to a post I made elsewhere a while back and certainly didn't think any the worse of you for telling me your opinion. I took no offence and believed you to be writing what you believed to be true to you.
Imagine I have a list of names if you like but it is quite short and only includes five very obvious (to me) offenders of the type I have suggested. I naturally cannot name them, nor would like to, because I know that even though my idea of who constitutes ugly on here is shared with a number of people, I realise others may be blissfully unaware of that and quite like those particular characters and appreciate their input on here. I certainly wouldn't like to dictate by naming people who others should have doubts about because it all boils down to self-discovery at the end of the day and if you are easily led by others points of view (as you have noted in your post) then you are just another sad sack, not ugly but dumb, which hurts the eyes that rely upon intectual ascethism to fill their day with pretty pictures of people walking around with lightbulbs atop their heads, flashing with original thought. | |

I honestly cannot remember what my post was about to you from back then lol. might have to look it up again... joking lol. But it's nice to know that you didnt take it personally, i dont usually mean to sound rude or nasty to people, i'm not like that but i'm only human and sometime si will loose my temper a bit based on certain particular subjects. I guess i take things just a tad bit too seriously sometimes lol.
I only asked if you were willing to name them so that i could keep my eye out for them so that i would know if they were trying to cause trouble for myself and others around me. Anyway i dont get many private messages on here for my comments so i guess i'm not all that ugly inside :D. Anyway, i just like to be honest so i'm possibly the guy whos ugly outside but great on the inside... who knows... becuse i certainly well dont. | |
