| Shopping. Posted: 6/7/2007 2:37:32 PM | | Oh yeah i hate grocery shopping. I dont even look at the price. I just grab stuff and get out. But when it comes to clothing and shoes, I take my time, evaluate, go in front of the mirror a few times, do some research and so on. LOL. | |

| Shopping. Posted: 6/7/2007 2:40:16 PM | I can't think of one thing I LIKE to shop for... I can only tolerate some types of shopping better than others... I am beyond any form of liking shopping and if I must buy something, tend to use online shopping these days........ you can look online, buy and have them ship it to you....... which keeps me out of those stores with that annoying music and salespeople who pester you to help but dont know anything about the products. | |

I guess it never occurs to some folks that those who list Shopping as a hobby do so because they enjoy it regularly enough to consider it a hobby and just maybe, they can afford to indulge?
I think this is extremely well-said. I don't list shopping as a hobby, but I have referenced my love of thrift stores on my profile. I rarely buy anything retail (unless it's unhygienic to buy it secondhand), and for me, spending a weekend day scouring the thrift stores, being able to come home with a full wardrobe for what I would have paid for a single shirt at the mall, or with some amazing find that I got dirt cheap, that's a hobby.

But they still die, just like everyone else.

| Shopping. Posted: 6/7/2007 4:42:43 PM | | I dont like shopping either...If I have get something, its planned and time limited...I can only stand so much time in a womans clothing store before I get majorly stressed..A mall?..forget it...Im outta there as fast as I can after a purchase..usually at someplace like Best Buy....However, I enjoy catalogue shopping occassionally, especially online...LLBean, JJill, Coldwater Creek, gardeners seed catalogues in winter, Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Borders | |

| Shopping. Posted: 6/7/2007 5:02:38 PM | Oh i love shopping for cell phones and laptops. K. ill stop now. I would never spend over a certain amount of money on clothing even if they are designer stuff. But when it comes to cell phones, and certain make up items, Iwould think twice. You may have to drag me from the counters! | |

| Shopping. Posted: 6/7/2007 10:45:23 PM | If I can't point and click, I pretty much don't buy it.
I pay with a credit card, because it's safer than using a check card -- but I have no debt.
The few times I have been in a mall in the last five years have been preceded by a lot of b1tching and moaning.

| Shopping. Posted: 6/7/2007 11:11:16 PM | well I love shopping but I don't consider it a hobby, more of a retail therapy thing.
Oh wait I don't know if that makes me an even bigger loser... probably does ! hah
I'm not a shopaholic but I do enjoy buying things for myself and others, makes me feel good.

| Shopping. Posted: 6/7/2007 11:20:47 PM | | I hate it, except when looking for a bargain. Used to love garage sales and such, but, I already have too much stuff, so I quit! | |

| Shopping. Posted: 6/8/2007 1:46:45 AM | I don't mind it at all - books, music, groceries, video games - to me, it's fun to seek out and find something I've got my mind set on acquiring. I also think it's pretty damn cool when girls ask me to go with them to get new cloths. Seriously, what's a more obvious way for them to tell me "I value your opinion" than when they're trying on stuff and asking me if I like it, or buy things per my suggestion. Hell, my best friend never used to wear dark blue jeans till I suggested they'd look good with a new pair of shoes she'd bought. The next time we went out, she looked so damn cute! Needless to say, she was glad she'd taken my advice on what to wear.

| Shopping. Posted: 6/8/2007 7:23:15 AM | | OP, I guess it all depends on what interests one has...Some may see a woman shopping for clothes or shoes as something bad, yet when this person goes out shopping for cars, motorcycles, fishing gear, or some other hobby items, they don't see it as 'shopping' and they think it's great. I 'shop' a lot - for books; they're something I really enjoy...and they're a great source of learning and entertainment for me. I also happen to shop for clothes and shoes, not only because I have to dress a particular way for work, but because I enjoy looking good for myself...and though I mainly shop online now as I hate crowded stores, it's still shopping and is a great form of entertainment not ot mention it's also a necessity. I also enjoy fleam markets as I collect antique jewelry; that's a form of shopping and I know a lot of men who also enjoy it. But these are only a few of my interests; there are many more outside of these...Though if look at literally, anywhere you go where you buy something - even if it's dinner, drinks, movie tickets, etc., you're essentially still 'shopping'...you chose one restaurant over another, one meal/drinks over another, and one movie over another, so you 'shopped' for what you wanted...so regardless of the form they take, they're all sources of 'shopping for entertainment'. | |

| Shopping. Posted: 6/8/2007 7:33:20 AM | thrift stores aren't shopping, that would be more like wading through the city dump.... I like that even less than shopping. Whats wrong with online shopping? they have bargains there and you never have to go to a store either. Far as gifts go... cash is the best gift... it comes in the right size, color and without defects where it must be returned. Cash is king... | |

| Shopping. Posted: 6/8/2007 9:04:28 AM | I grocery shop. The rest sucks.....can we go fishing instead? | |

Then you're not visiting the right thrift stores. Last year, I paid $3.99 for a collectible doll that an online website sells for $269.00. My favorite thrift store is the best place to find original Cabbage Patch dolls (the cloth ones, with the stamp on the butt), usually for about $2.99.
Whats wrong with online shopping? they have bargains there and you never have to go to a store either.
I love online shopping, I can spend hours at Ebay or Half.com. But I can't try on clothes there, can I?

| Shopping. Posted: 6/8/2007 10:25:34 AM | | No, I know what I want. A bad commercial a while back joked about 'laser beamers' well, that's me :). If I go with someone, it's to get them something and is usually fun doing it. | |

| Shopping. Posted: 6/8/2007 10:35:33 AM | Had two phone calls ths morning with offers to go shop.. turned them both down. I know some real addicts. Where are all the people who offer to go fishing, hiking and biking ? bunch of lazy azzes around and thats all..... lol
shop for dolls at a flea market? cabbage patch? those cloth dolls... ewwww. No way... I'm not into bringing germs and bacteria into my house, not mention the kid who had that doll could have had some illness and died.... leaving all the bateria and virus germs on the cloth.... yuck !. not to mention dust and dust mites and their poop !!! gag! and barf !...................

I don't mind seeing shopping in a womans profile just as long as she has something a bit more original to accompany it. My profile says "Shopping ALONE"
It's there for that very reason... so men know they won't EVER have to accompany me on a stupid excursion to find just the right pair of pumps....
Gawd help those poor men.... lol

| Shopping. Posted: 6/8/2007 1:02:09 PM | | As long as you're shopping for something you like. I'm a crossdresser, so I don't mind looking over lots of women's clothing while my lady shops. But jewelry, not so much. Like other guys, I can spend forever looking at cool cars and motorcycles though. Staples shopping, for food and such, I can do without. | |

| Shopping. Posted: 6/8/2007 1:55:47 PM | No matter what we buy it all ends up in a garage sale or auction. I don't really understand why people work hard to own stuff. | |
|
| Shopping. Posted: 6/9/2007 1:14:06 PM | | I don't have a particular problem with shopping. We all enjoy getting just what we've wanted or needed. However, many people that I meet, seemingly more young women, have this NEED to go shopping to fill some void. As if they do not buy something, they just can't feel good about their weekend. | |

| Shopping. Posted: 6/9/2007 1:24:48 PM | | maybe its just you. cause i love to shop. and its not even all about getting stuff. its a relaxing way to hang out with the gals. and we stop for lunch, sit n chat, watch people. maybe if you were more open minded about it, you would see shopping is not just about shopping. | |
