Posted: 6/13/2007 1:33:40 PM | | the first time i slept with someone I waited 6 months before sex, and we were together a long time. you could sleep in the same bed but don't necessarily have to have sex straight away. i'd say basically that there's no set time limit for this, if you feel you really like someone and you feel it is right then it is your own decision, but basically I would wait until you get to know someone a bit better first, spend time with the guy and have a laugh as friends before you jump into bed together and things are more likely to work out better if you have built up a friendship first. If you prefer to sleep with a guy sooner then that is between you and the guy but don't feel pressurised into anything you don't want to do. | |

If she wants to wait until we get to know each other better that's fine too. If she doesn't have sex with me, then meets some other guy and has sex with him, well, then I feel rejected and will not date her anymore. Also, if months go by and I don't see any desire for sex - well, then I figure she's just not into me. Most importantly, I don't subscribe to the idea that a woman is a "slut" if she wants sex right away. Hey, those days are, or should be, over. | |

this whole "I want to really know the person" thing is just an excuse. You cant "really know" someone in just a few months. It takes a LONG time. trust me I have been married so it still takes time beyond that to know someone.
If you just looking to hop from relationship to relationship your whole life then go ahead but if your looking to have a lifelong marriage then do it God's way. | |

I'm sorry, I don't recall anywhere in the Bible where Adam and Eve got Married, however they did have 2 sons.
Waiting till you get married, and then if the sex sux somebody is not happy and then starts looking around again... Pleasssssssssssssssssssssse this is not 1910 we are adults and having sex in a relationship is tatamount to it's success. | |

Like, I don't mean to ask such a lame question. What do guys really think.
It's more and issue that you think about it like that opposed to just doing what you feel is right.
I am more turned off by girls who think :
"Oh if I sleep with him now he'll think I'm a slut, even though I want to"
opposed to
"What I do is up to me and this feels right and what other people think about me doesn't matter as I know I'm acting with good intention and understand my motives and my actions are based on how I feel and what I want, not how I *think&* and *guess* others might perceive me".
One is a weak victim state of mind, the other is stronger and taking responsibility and allowing others to have their own ideas.
It's a state of mind, when that is right the idea of "the right time" goes away, typically I don't deal with people who make such a big issue about being manipulative of the situation, their or others desires/emotions/feelings so I rarely come across this as I'm far to honest to bother with games like that, or be affected by others who choose the play them. | |

Three months? Christ... if a girl intends to wait that long she better hope I don't meet any equally kind, attractive & fun girls with less inhibitions in the meantime.
'How long should I wait?' is the wrong question to be asking really. If a guy is put off because you put out too soon, he doesn't share your attitudes to sex and therefore isn't what you're looking for. Likewise if he gets put off because you waited too long, it's the same.
If you deliberately waited or didn't wait with a guy because you thought it was more likely to get you into a relationship that way and he dumped you because it was too soon or too late, then yes you ****ed up and you're an idiot. If you waited until whenever it felt right for you and he dumped you because it was too soon or late, then you successfully filtered out a guy who doesn't share your attitudes and you should be glad.
The only way you can lose is by deliberately waiting, or not, purely because you believe that it's more likely to 'work out' that way. If you go with YOUR feelings on it, you win every time. | |

In time, you are going to meet a charismatic, energetic, caring guy. If you are thinking that there's enough for a serious relationship there, then you're not talking about just jumping into the sack after two minutes anyway. Sometimes, the chemistry is just there. 1. there's girls who just don't have sex for months and months, making the guy wait it out to ensure that he KNOWS she's not a slut...
2. there's girls who have to really really like the guy, and hope that a solid relationship forms, and doesn't mind having sex with somebody she feels this way about...
3. then there's the girls who just sleep around, and wondering why relationships don't last for more than a few months...
1. she's not a slut, she's just insecure and wants to make something more than what it probably is.
2. she's not a slut either, she's just stupid and only easy for guys she really really likes, not just sorta likes....but doesn't necessarily have to know them very well.
3. she's just a slut.
there's also the ones who sleep with you on the first date and say shit like "this isn't really how i am, i'm not like this", and there's the ones who make you wait based on some formula they learned in 9th grade....and there's always the fun pseudo-virgins who pretend they're so inexperienced that they don't even know what a condom looks like even though they've ****ed most of your friends.....in your closet... there's many many types of people, and women seem to make up the majority of the ones who are over conscious of the way their sexuality is viewed.
don't worry about it... if we want to find something wrong with you, we will. no matter what you do right or wrong. | |

I dont have full on sex outside of a commited relationship as a rule. I don't think it really means that much unless you have feelings for the person, but thats just my opinion. | |

However, if a woman of any age wants to have sex with a man, I'm sure she'll be able to judge for herself when the time is right, and ignore all the silly social judgements of others.
Just my opinion, but some women always seem remain "silly girls", while other quickly mature into wonderful women. | |
