| the aussie POF forum Posted: 6/19/2007 5:27:14 AM | I hear the Aussie forums are temporarily down two posters. The Aussie forums probably have shown more leniency lately than we all expected, so we obviously need to take more care with using our Aussie forum. Have I said Aussie forum enough times? | |

| the aussie POF forum Posted: 6/19/2007 5:34:35 AM | What is happening? Did the mods lose their sense humour/fun or what? Loosen up!! | |

| the aussie POF forum Posted: 6/19/2007 5:53:06 AM | | If I ever go back to uni I'm writing my thesis on the Aussie POF forums........... | |

| the aussie POF forum Posted: 6/19/2007 6:38:49 AM | The Aussie forum rocks. You can be guaranteed a good laugh all the time. The antics of the people on here often have me in stitches and this thread is no different. | |

I actually plan to write my thesis on the dominant/submissive cyber-relationships present on the bondage.com IRC server - CRAZY stuff!
But my close second would be the Aussie POF forums. I love Aussies. We are one, but we are many. *Goes outside to gaze up at the Southern Cross*
EDIT: Is it just me or has the "tool" thread disappeared again??
|
| the aussie POF forum Posted: 6/19/2007 7:08:56 AM | ^^^ It's gone. Other threads on the Aussie forum have had various posts deleted as well. Gonna take a self-imposed break from the Aussie forum for a few days myself. Too much reporting and deleting going on in the Aussie forum. Have fun you Aussie forum-ers. | |

| the aussie POF forum Posted: 6/19/2007 7:37:58 AM | Personally I think the mod's turn a blind eye to the Aussie forum. 'Chatting' in the main vein is a suspendible violation. It's not that people are friendlier, they just get away with it more I must say though, that the Aussie forum's are like a breath of fresh air. | |

yes...but if they suspend the half dozen or so "chatty" people there'd be no one left to post.... We have so few people here on the forums, and "newbies" are always welcomed in, but few stick around any length of time. And posts from anyone not in Oz are usually deleted by the mods - what's a girl to do besides talk to herself and hope someone answers?

| the aussie POF forum Posted: 6/19/2007 4:19:23 PM | am at a total loss ... chatting is a suspendible violation ??? define chatting please ... amd people have been suspended ???? oh get off the grass for heavens sake, I haven't read anything that could be deemed offensive, some things may be risque ... but not offensive. As a new member to this site, and forums ( this is my first forum ever ventured into) maybe I am niave of the rules, but would have thought as long as people are courteous and not spiteful, then all should be cool. now I read that someone has decided to take a self imposed leave of absence due to whats happened last night ... peoples, I am totally gob smacked, what the hell happened last night??? | |

define chatting please .....Chatting is when a poster 'chats' to another and doesn't refer to the thread in question. Under Rules and Violations...Chatting In the Forums is one of the forbidden things to do. I'm not saying I agree with this rule, I am saying that the rule is there. Iv'e been on the site for 18 months, and have had a couple of suspensions for 3 days or so, one of them was for 'chatting', so there you have it. As a newbie way back when, I wasn't aware of the rules until I got suspended, then read them!
Personally I think it's good to have a chat and be friends, it takes away the gloom and seriousness of some topics, but not everyone see's it that way.

| the aussie POF forum Posted: 6/19/2007 11:04:32 PM | I just went to post in the hate mail thread and its gone too!! This is a Canadian site i guess......maybe we are expected to have no sense of humour like them............its just not the Aussie way!!!
Might get banned for saying that............that Canadians are humourless!!
|
| the aussie POF forum Posted: 6/19/2007 11:15:52 PM | Naaahhhh, just some of them .. mainly the ones in charge I suspect!!
Used to be a really fun bunch of Canadian members who visited here and posted this time last year, simply 'cos they enjoyed the laid-back Aussie humour, the general camaraderie, and maybe a slight sense of belonging not to be found in their own larger and chillier forums. (They didn't find it for long however, after all being told to sling their hook - them being here was preventing us Aussies from meeting up, apparently!)
Seems a damn shame that this forum is now reverting to that same format largely by force really ...
PS / and ooh - are you saying you just got hate mail Hilly?? Damn - where you gonna post any juicy details now...??
|
| the aussie POF forum Posted: 6/20/2007 12:33:26 AM | ^^^^Yesterday i posted "tool of the day" thread half expected to have it deleted but based it on the Ontario one in canada and its still there????.......Different sense of belonging indeed as well as humour i guess only thing to to put it down to is warmer the country warmer the humour | |

oooh, you won't get banned for that.
I might come around and kick your butt though
There was probably excessive chat in the hate mail thread. Or someone didn't like what someone else said and reported it to the mods....been gone a few months - it's actually less restrictive than it used to be. Of course, a couple of the chief sh#t disturbers are now absent, lol.

Yes... one Canadian was allowed to organize the very first aussie POF party, then quietly went away. The rest were all booted out of the Aussie forums. I'd say I miss them, but I chat with most anyway.
I'll stick my hand up and represent all the Canadians - hows that? Frigging cold enough here in Sydney anyway....

| the aussie POF forum Posted: 6/20/2007 5:48:58 AM | Hi dawezy - welcome to the forum
Start a new thread...the old ones are getting boring - we need fresh blood, lol.
|
| the aussie POF forum Posted: 6/20/2007 5:52:15 AM | Maybe the mods get a roaring whassname when they weild the big axe...
(I know I would, but my axe is a bit small to skite about)

| the aussie POF forum Posted: 6/20/2007 6:19:40 AM | I must have missed any shenanigans last night. I was watching "Gangs of Iraq" on SBS, very interesting. Hilly is just a scream, funniest girl on the Aussie forums, so if we compare her sense of humour to the Canadians, then they would seem humourless. CC, your an Aussie forum icon. I've read a lot of you posts, before your return & you get a thumbs up from me. I thought I was banned today... I tried heaps of times to make a post & it didn't show, eventually I gave up. I made a fluffy post in another thread & it worked... wtf... later I figured out what went wrong I was using the "at" icon in the word c r a p so it (pof) wouldn't register the post.... I'm sure I've seen that used before quite recently, must be a new innovation to try & stop email address' being posted. | |

| the aussie POF forum Posted: 6/20/2007 6:28:14 AM | I'm an icon? Awwww shucks ...
I'd like to thank all my supporters... um, wait, that'd be all the guys I'm not dating for keeping me hanging around here. I'd like to find the one that drags me out. Then I can be a legend instead of an icon, lol.
