Posted: 6/15/2007 6:51:10 AM | Ok seems to me this is ( like most topics ) a matter of personal choice, which is as it should be. Also there seems that there is also are some making the distinction that a nekkid body must also infer a sexual cogitation,( which is also their right and choice ). It seems the there are laws regarding when, were and how much people can display their bodies, that appears to strike a balance between the two. While I personally have no issues those that choose to display their bodies getting to fulfill any fantasies, they do face the consequences for their actions. However, there are also those that may not be able to enjoy privacy ( i.e. those living in apartments, basement or high rise ) and I see nothing wrong with clubs, parks, camp grounds that provide such services. I see nothing wrong with a warm summer morning laying in the sun nekkid enjoying a tangerine, strawberry, melon, dipped in chocolate breakie sharing a bottle of wine, the fact that there may be other enjoying similar activities 20, 30 ft away, I would think should be of little consequence.
edit, as for those that think i have no dignity for enjoying such a breakie, they have that option, but i hardly think their opinions are not likely to influence me from doing what i enjoy.

1) You fought for the right to bare your breast, so do it if your comfortable.
2) Do not bash those who want to do it or don't want to do it
3) As for breast being a sexual part of the body, ? up to you.
4) People will stare at anything they don't see often, it will go away if it becomes the norm.
5) With that said. Men & women still check each other out on a daily basis. It's natural!
6) Women & men will even look at the same sex. This is even natural as we compare. Men check out other men to see who is the alpha male & women do the same to see who is the beta female.
So in the end do what you please & it's legal.

It's a totally different thing when it comes to how others view you. Equallity under the law says that regaurdless of gender we all have the same rights. But in the eye of the genral public there are places for that kind of stuff lol. We as a society are not yet comfortable with explaining to our kids that nudeity and sex are different. the body regaurdless of its shape is our sphear we live in. And someone that is offended by someone else body still has issues about the differenace between sex and the person. I not sure that walking down main street anyehere won't cause a few to look people to look regauedless of their gender. Yet on a beach or in a park why would anyone real care. Would you be upset if a woman was breast feeding her child? Well I think freedom and respecting where and when we do things is a more important change we need to concider.      | |

I know it was referring to a male but you could also say the same towards either sex and I think it is wrong, wrong WRONG.
Breasts are just that breasts. Regardless of size, shape, perkiness.... no one should feel so insecure with themselves or their bodies that they should want to cover up.
I think that is the problem with some women on why they won't expose their breasts in public legally or not. Aside from hearing rude comments one can also hear some pretty ignorant comments and that can do a lot to crush a persons self esteem.
I believe Western Society has a ways to go before something legal as this is fully accepted by all. JMO... | |

My best friend and I basqued in the sun on the dock while boaters drove by. They were far enough away that it wasn't that obvious and the neighbouring cottages were far enough down the shore that it wasn't a big deal. It felt wonderful to be so free. We went skinny dipping at all hours of the day and I've never felt so relaxed in AGES! | |

I think any woman who does have the attitude they accept being looked at from a specific demographic, lose credibility on the topic.
Who cares about women baring breasts. I think the women have the issue concerning this... not the men. It seems apparent...even in this thread.

Seems like there are two sides to this post. Some seem to be ok with it and some don't. With the OP, Kel, it's ok for her , even to the point where she has posted a semi- nude bathing Kel picture in her profile. I don't see the need for the picture. There's no need for physical evidence. This is not a legal court case related to what happened to the tan lines. It's not the National Enquirer or Star. "Look so and so caught topless at the beach." All it may do is attract the perverted out there, but I'm sure that is not what you want.
Whether women choose to go topless at beaches, is their choice. For some women I would imagine it come downs to their values and morals.
I've travelled to Europe and the beaches are full of topless sunbathers. I took art and in my figuring drawing class I would have to look at full nudity for hours. As a male it didn't bother me or the women in the class.We all saw it as a human art form, where as some people see it as a sexual object. I guess it depends what's ticking in your head up there. There are the bare all statues that cover Europe's, galleries, outdoor fountains, museums, etc....Boobs a hanging, penis a dangling, no one seems to care. It's looked at as an art form and perhaps why. We are allot more conservative here in North America as compared to Europe and South America or some of the islands.
I have to ask Kel, as being a parent of children and I'm not sure if you have any daughters, but how do you think your children would feel if they knew mom went topless at the beach and that she has a semi nude picture posted on her profile. Secondly, would you be ok with the thought of your daughter, going topless at a beach, with males walking by or in the area.
Like I previously mentioned I think it boils down to values and morals for many women. Also it can relate to how comfortable you are with your own physical being. Some women really lack confidence or are not happy with their appearence. It's all up to the individual in the end. It can be argued till the end of time.
In closing, I hope Kel, this post doesn't become some movement for women going topless at beaches. Who's for it and who's against it. Just enjoy your freedom of exposure and perhaps topics like these along with pictures should be kept privately and not exposed to everyone. It just may lead people to judge you in the wrong way and I'm sure your not a bad person at all.

I have high morals for myself...I even mentioned to my mother who is 63 that I went topless and she smiled and said I have been to a nude beach when she was Cailfornia..did I judge my mother,, no...I gave her the thumbs up.
About my so called semi nude pic...U don't see anything..but if you want, check out the males profiles see how pics U find with pants undone, or ones that are shirtless....So I guess its ok for them but not us right? | |

Your definition of high morals Kel, may be different compared to other women. Otherwise I would think all the women would agree with you going topless and would also go topless as well, but this is not the case. What you may be ok with may not be ok with other women.
Like I said topics like this needs to stay behind closed doors. I know all you were inquiring was if other women would do it, but unfortunately it's touchy subject. Being conservative as we are , it always a tabu subject. As Lisa said , it 's always the person who does the action , who comes crying that someone made a sexual remark or whatever. You asked for it so don't cry , I guess what she was trying to say.

Ummmm... we aren't as conservative as you may want others to believe. To prove my point... look in the yellow pages under "Escort Services".... our kids have easy access to that "conservative service". As well a kid can can easily pick up the phone and have phone sex at any "900" service. They walk past "Hooters" to see...well... hooters. So, don't ply the old fashioned "conservative" theme.
If you think about this correctly... being topless in public will always be policed by the general poulation... cell phones are always available to call in a complaint... you can't say that about the "conservative" services offerred via 900 numbers and/or the escort services. | |
