| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/18/2007 7:34:32 AM | Society is society. There is justification for both sides. Me myself, unless you doing the wild thing with some guy down at the beach late at night with no kids around, leave the clothes on. That is just my opinion, does not mean it is right, but I rather it be a sexual part.
One thing that is definate is children(teens) do still view them as a sexual part due to our society, so when taking that freedom, keep in mind it could be confusing and stimulating too some and they are not mature enough to act a certain way with that sort of thing. Not only that most men too. I know if I am at the beach and there is a group of women topless. I am throwing the football close to them and taking a peak now and then. We are trained to do that. Not a bad thing at all, and most women love the way we look and desire them...
But, what a waste. If you going to do something like that, at least have an over priced yard sell and sell lemonade for 2 dollars a pop. Make some money off of society explortation of your boddies. get no tan line and your freedom. Win win, right?
In all fairness to the OP. This is her thread, this post did ask if any other women were into coming out and was not designed for debating the personal views on doing the act.
But...... One quick question kell. Why were the men not invited to the beach?

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/18/2007 10:15:16 AM | | I remember when this was made law, the letters to the editors all went nuts ladies would write in that men are now going to rape all the women No women is safe cause men can't controll them selves, yada yada yada. And look the sky hasn't fallen, But alot of it did fall down when Janet Jackson did what she did. If we make it both men and women an awfull thing and teach our children that breast are a terrible naughty thing then we are doing ourselves a disservice. Get over our selves, I love the fact that we accept violence as the norm but seeing a set of breast we're going to hell..... | |

i see a few comments touching on shame, body image etc. i can speak for myself only (but i'm sure there are many other women in my boat)....
being modest doesn't mean you are ashamed of your yabbos. for myself it's quite the reverse. i'm proud of ma girls. so much so that i reserve them for ma one and only.
(edit: oh, and me too of course!)

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/18/2007 1:44:49 PM | | You know if everyone was doing it for about 5-10 years it would become the norm and seeing a breast would be no different then seeing a belly button. We breast feed our children with them then one day they wake up and we tell them the thing that gave u life is now dirty and naughty. In North America where whacked when it comes to this, do you think some lady in Europe is saying look at all those people with loose morals because they are showing their chest. No cause its the way it is. People get off by seeing feet so should all those people tell you people that own sandles that your all naughty slutty people? Come on relax. My wife is a mother, daughter, sister and in the bedroom a lover, its only in the bed room her breast become a sex object and thats because we want them too. Choice. Im sure when shes being a mother sister daughter it's not sexual and I think those that think breast are nothing but a sexual part of the female should be ashamed of your self. | |

You don't see nudists often - but you see more of them.

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/18/2007 7:37:24 PM | There are some social boundaries that are not meant to be crossed. At least, not with the mentality we currently have. Yes, we have the right to go topless, no I'm not going to condon anyone ever doing it. I'm sorry, young horny guys and the comments, I don't want to sexualize the little youth of today anymore than the media already does. Our society isn't ready for people to do that, I doubt whether it will be in my lifetime. I personally don't want to see it, for personal and religious reasons.
And to however said we fought for the right, so we should exercise it? Well, considering there are quite a few other rights and freedoms that, on a regular basis, are being violated, I'd rather work on those, and my right to walk around topless.

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/19/2007 4:44:29 AM | | Bottom line is....it's legal...if U want to do it, do it, piss on what others have to say. We certainly cannot please everyone in the world. | |

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/19/2007 5:26:49 AM | Nor should you have to, but some people like to feel morally superior. Let them be all uppity and uptight. It just makes it all the more funny when it upsets them that they can do absolutely nothing about your choice.
Revel in it - I would. | |

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/19/2007 6:57:40 AM | I lived in Europe for 7 years. I am of Portuguese and Brasilian background. In both countries going topless is as natural as breathing. Any beach you go to women are topless sunbathing, playing volley ball, swimming.... etc...
Children don't point and stare, they really are not bothered or curious about it, the older generation aren't bothered by it of feel it unappropriate.
Here I sunbathe topless when I can, before NDL and I moved in together I lived in a condo, where I would go to a secluded area of the complex, so that families weren't offended and "let the girls out". Now if I can't find a secluded spot from men and children, I usually go as far as to untie the bikini top if I'm on my tummy so I don't get the dreaded tan lines, or if I'm on my back I untie the string around my neck and get it outta the way.
I have been in the car with NDL and had to change into a bikini top and done so in the car while he is driving. So I can't even say I don't do it on the street... ok I was in the car, but I never walked down the street topless. Opportunity hasn't presented itself I guess.
I'm not sure what the big deal is to the ones that feel it's inappropriate, or that think womens breasts are for breast feeding... lighten up.

In 1996, the law passed that women could go topless in Ontario..So many women complained about men being topless and they could'nt...The law changed but no one hardly would go topless after they got what they wanted...Its like they complain and complain, then get what they want and then do nothing!
I went to Cobourg Beach with another fishie friend from here, we both decided to go topless. We went to the end of the beach to have privately, a patrol officer even said we are the first to do it there..Hopefully when other women see some women do it, then they will do it..
Sure we had some men, who decided to walk near us, but we paid no attention to them and they left us alone..
Are there any other women who want to go topless but nervous? Don't be..sure I was at first, but then decided just to do it.. NOW PLEASE READ THE THE LAST LINE ,IT IS A QUESTION IF OTHER WOMEN WOULD DO IT NOTHING MORE .SO LADIES ,YES OR NO ,THATS ALL THAT IS ASKED ,NOT WHETHER IT IS RIGHT OR WRONG OR WHATEVER ,JUST WOULD YOU GO TOPLESS OR NOT THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE ,JUST READ THE POST............

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/19/2007 5:19:52 PM | I have to smile at all of this and have nothing but praise for Kel. I'm old enough to remember when men were not allowed to be topless. Men??? Hell no males where not permitted to go topless. When my three brothers and I were young (ages 2, 3, 4 and 6) it was depression time. My Mom made us bathing suits and for the tops she used some open mesh net material. In the depression years you used whatever you had. We almost got run out of the neighbourhood because our nipples - the nipples of four boys under the age of 6 - could be seen.
In those days if men wanted to leave the sandy beach of Toronto Beaches- to walk across the boardwalk and buy an ice cream cone at the store on the other side of the boardwalk it was necessary for them to put on their trousers.
Smiled at the chap who looked at nudes while in art school. I as a senior man was an undrapped model for art school.
Would I allow my three daughters to see a woman's naked breasts or a man's equipment. We went as a family to LakeSun nudist camp north of Kingston so no big deal. Only once ran into trouble when a woman who could have come from a James Bond movie stepped into the open shower beside me one morning and began to vigorously perform her abolutions. I had to grab my towel and walk back to our camp site. Disaster or embarrasing. Not at all. The memory still brings a warm smile to my heart and if you can say that when like me you are 79 then I say, good on you.
No I would not go nude on a public beach but absolutely no problem where it is appropraite. And I think it is quite appropriate for women to go topless in this day and age. Would I look at topless ladies. Yep. I'm 79 not dead. As e.e. cummings said "a pretty girl who naked is, is worth a million statues. "
But to admire the human form is not necessarily immoral, indecent, inappropriate or lustful. Pity the poor undeveloped soul who cannot differentiate his ethics sufficiently to accept the human form, young old, shapely or like mine rather unshapely as it is. Nakedness is a freeing from constraints of inherited narrow mindlessness.
Love the sun and the wind on my body.

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/19/2007 6:41:33 PM | I've done it. No big deal. I was camping. Came out of my tent, sat in a lounger chair. About an hour later the women in the next tent came out. Looked at me a bit shocked expression for a moment and I thought "Oh shit, here it comes". To my surprise she took off her top, sat in front of her tent in a chair and started reading a magazine. I don't think anyone else noticed. | |
