| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/21/2007 11:43:37 AM | Can I have my safety glasses and cervical collar back please ?
Seriously people need to spend a few years in the medical profession, I've seen some pretty hot women, fully naked when I was a volunteer medic. Once you see two or 3 you get desensitized and make no big deal about it.
Most mature men loose the urge to drool over such things, as we age we want quality not quantity.
So stick me at a topless beach and after 5 minutes I'll be yawning and looking for a place to snooze in the breeze.

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/25/2007 4:20:26 AM | If I am gonna be judged by people that I thought we friends because if and when I decide to go topless...then they were not really friends in the first place then...I will do as I please, and don't care who does'nt like it.. My family and boyfriend do not have issues with it at all.. | |

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/25/2007 7:24:20 AM | You are going to find that indeed friends and family will have a difference of opinion to you on many things - it does not mean they are not your friends or family still. What you have to understand is that if you choose to do something that some find controvercial - you must take the knocks that go with it!! There is no disdine or animosity towards you personally - it's the activity you choose to participate in!! So at that point you just choose to agree to disagree - it does not mean you have to ruin friendships or have strain in your family. Good (mature) friends can have different thoughts on the same subject and still remain friends!! It seems your choice is really bothering you or you would not keep bringing up the thread!! Hey look - I've met ya before - I like ya - we just have a difference of opinion here!! | |

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/25/2007 7:41:21 AM | | Though I haven't been on any Canadian beaches in recent memory I have travelled quite a bit to the Carribean (Negril Jamacia & Dominican Republic). It is quite common to see topless sunbathing. Its not a big deal..... | |

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/25/2007 3:16:20 PM | | leanne, yes we have met and yes I like ya too, and tell u the truth no one has said anything to me as of yet..but the way I look at it...friends accept U for who U are and not for what they want you to be....My choice does'nt bother me one bit...tomorrow is my day off, guess where I am going... the beach again lol | |

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/26/2007 6:20:06 AM | At least they only allow topless at beaches, for women.
I could just imagin the traffic accidents, if going topless was allowed on the street.
Now where are my darn safety glasses ?

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/26/2007 9:12:25 AM | so difficult to come down clearly one side or the other.
yes you are free to do what you want, and i support freedom to choose. also i think broken glass and cigarette butts are less attractive and more harmful than a handful of unbridled fatty tissue on a beach.
however, why do you do it?
because you can? i CAN hold my breath until i pass out. i CAN publish racist propaganda. legally, i CANNOT smoke marijuana. i CANNOT engage in anal sex when there is a third party in the room. in kentucky, you CANNOT carry ice cream cones in your pockets. legality and morality/acceptability have little bearing on one another.
no tan lines? you are not obligated to tan in public. and make sure to cook evenly, equal time sunning the back and the rack or else you're flaunting it. and if indeed you are doing it just to get looks or cause a scene then you shouldn't do it.
the only acceptable reason is because it feels nice/natural. but be prepared to explain this to children and stupefied onlookers.
now the litmus test for all the ladies that would bare their tits, i suppose i can come up and touch them? they are as bare as your arm or leg and apparently not to be viewed as sexual, so to me that says touching would be okay. likewise comments are fair game: you have nice hair, nice legs, nice tits.
i agree that nudity is no big deal, kids can find it if they want it with the internet etc, and they are getting into sex before they even get boobs/hit puberty these days anyway.
out in public you have the chance of changing someone's life. seeing your hooters could make a man or a woman crash their car from the distraction. that's a little extreme, but it could even alter a girl's perception on sexuality if she doesn't understand why you have no shirt on, and she could become either a big skank or a super prude because of it.
final hypothetical: would you let your kids play over at a house where the family practiced nudism? it's cheaper to not buy clothes, it's healthy, natural. why must nudists clothe themselves in public? how can places of business hamper your freedom by forcing you to wear shirt and shoes? would it be okay for mcdonald's to up and say "not white? not christian? not welcome!"
if you're gonna sunbathe topless, go the whole hog and grocery shop topless too. in fact, ban clothing outright. fig leaves for the modest, swingin/flappin in the breeze for the confident.
this time it's really the final hypothetical: would you be offended at two men kissing in public? controversy's fun!

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/26/2007 10:07:39 AM | I wonder if those 2 women from Guelph University who went to court and won the right for women to go topless, are walking around topless today??? LOL….Doubt it. I think if the majority of women thought this was a great idea, you'd find plenty of them at the beach.
i suppose i can come up and touch them? they are as bare as your arm or leg and apparently not to be viewed as sexual, so to me that says touching would be okay. I don't know of any women who would welcome a stranger coming up to them and touching any part of her body, exposed or not.

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/26/2007 10:11:21 AM | | One further.. as a MAN i wouldn't find it acceptable for someone to come and touch me (arms legs face or man boobs)... | |

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/26/2007 10:22:05 AM | i suppose all the women you know get freaked out shaking someone's hand whom they are just then meeting?
and abhorrent sights can be just as unwelcome as touches.
smells too. they are thinking of banning smoking out of doors. i wonder if you just light it and let it run down without drawing on it, or using a bellows to puff on it. it's not smoking, but of course the real effects intended to be curtailed would still result. the law should be "no lighting cigarettes or tobacco products indoors". same with no smoking within 9m of a door. if it was a fire hazard thing it would be no standing period.

No, I can’t say as any of my friends would freak out shaking someone’s hand whom they just met, as my friends are not strangers to social etiquette and good manners. When people shake hands, it’s usually done simultaneously; both people are consenting to shake hands. It is an acceptable way for people to act when introduced. No one has the right to go up to a stranger and touch any part of their body, be it exposed or not. Depending on where you live, putting your hands on someone without their consent is considered simple assault.

The point was getting the same rights as men. Women also fought for the right to get combat roles in the military. It's not because people are rushing out to do these things, but so they have the right to if they so choose.
More people need to fight for their right to do things they don't want to do. What an inspirational struggle!

| Going Topless at Ontario Beaches Posted: 6/30/2007 8:48:02 AM | I spend alot of time in Ontario & was awfully happy when I heard that we women could go topless legally now. Untill then I had only gone topless at some of the biker events & the nudest resorts I attended. I was gung ho at first...."Yay, more open minded people, freer societiy, no more people gawking because I have some clevage showing or because my hard nipples have made their way through my bra & tee shirt . That'll go unnoticed since they're surrounded by exposed breasts now "! I guess I was expecting that the limits & taboos that had been ingrained in people all their lives would dissapear once the laws changed.....I was WRONG! Instead what I found was that I offened alot of people & if you know me you know very well that offending others is at the top of MY taboo list. So it remains...people still check out my nipples when the breeze blows & I still only go topless at biker events (seriously WHO am I going to offend there??) & nudie camp...sigh. | |

I guess I was expecting that the limits & taboos that had been ingrained in people all their lives would dissapear once the laws changed You actually thought that would happen? Legislation has never had the magical power of erasing taboos, it only erases, fines and jail. Laws have no jurisdiction over morals, feelings, and public opinion.

my breasts are sexual objects just as much in my eyes as they are in the eyes of men. i say this because they give me pleasure.
Well what about necks, feet etc.. there are alot of areas that some get sexual pleasure from ( depending on the person of course ) just because of that you think that they should be covered? so what were gonna go back to the middle ages when showing some ankle off was frowned upon?is it looked upon as a sexual object when a women pulls it out to feed her kid in public? i think a few people need to try to be a little more open in this country..
