Mosquito don't emerge, they explode Doppler radar picked up this insect storm along the Royalle Riva: Millions of mosquito, having spent time in the silty river banks-*\\the kitten likes to type. //* Life is a whirlwind for the likes within 24 hours or so , millions rise from mud to mate, lay egs, and die. On radar rose skyward and drifted north on the wind. Map colors depict insect concentrations as decibels of energy (geeeesh greens are higher than blues; gray is groud noise or just a few bugs). The mayhem is a good sign: They pick only the healthiest rivers and forest as habitat.
"It's the best to watch the hatchlings fry in the mosquito zapper at the ice cream shop in the blackness... ...The biggest I've seen so far , I `think' it was as big as a subway station." Perspective being the most valuable .com-odity! I seen them successfully snagg fish by mistake, on Sabago Lake... ...& Did you all catch the price of the brocholeyflower at hanafords last week 50 cents. I made a nice greek salid out of that for the picnic and thank g-d the avenoon breeze heck it was down right windy cept them insects away.

OMG another Mainiac is here!! LOL Althought that presumes you were born here, you're profile doesn't specify...and well, you know the drill, you're from away unless you were actually born here in the Pine Tree State...which reminds me of a joke about the same...

a couple from AWAY moved to Maine to raise a family. Their first child was born, Mr Smith was so excited, went to the local store and bumped into Mr Jones and says, "Oh isn't it great? My son is a Mainiac!", Mr Jones replied,
"Just because the cat had her kittens in the oven, doesn't make'em biscuits."

Also Harp from rereading your profile, I'm wondering if I qualify as "the downright off their trolley-uns"!!! That's a great line you know!

I've almost decided that I prefer the Black Flies to the mosquites. Problem is, the season for Black Flies is so much shorter...when in season they're plentiful enough, and it doesn't take much bait to get them into a trap either. There are days when just breathing is suficient to lure them in!

Anyone done anything unusual with muscles?? No wait, that's a type-o, I meant MUSSELS!

I have reported this thread to the m o d s as a chat thread..... YER ALL BUSTED!
Expect the full extended vacation package. hehe

Actually, the mosquitoes in the Iao Valley on Maui are similar to blackhawk helicopters. You could catch 3 of them suckers and have enough blood to save someone's life!

Cool I need a vacation..lol. Something interesting I heard the other day, A bar owner want's to sell Beersicles, But its not legal, When beer is served it has to be fresh out of the bottle or keg. Beer on a stick, Not sure I would be very interested in trying it anyways. Its pretty hot here today, I don't even feel like bbqing, I think ham and cheese sandwiches are on the menu tonight.

I left a few beers in the freezer overnight (I know..abuse). When we woke up to go to surfing the next day, we were all hungover in a serious way. My friend liberated the top of those cans and we had beersicles all the way too the spot, crunching them like snow cones. It was a refreshing start to a long day of waves.

I grilled sirloin burgers with extra cheese and grilled sesame seed buns. Pringles and whole milk on the side.

hi JD! You and Kelly are confirming all those stories about what guys will eat and when...! (frozen beer) LOL Sirloin burgers? Talk about snobby foods!! LOL LOL Ok the Pringles take the cuss off.

I drove into Boston today for the first time on a day when it was hot and hazy and you could burn toast on the sidewalk....oppressive doesn't even come close. May I never have to do that again.

A friend and I are trying to see if we can steal enough time away from our jobs to visit South Dakota this fall. We love it there!! Wild horses, cowboys in tight jeans, and prime rib steaks to die for!

Anyone made jello in interesting or unusual shapes for any unusual or interesting reasons??

Hi windkist--well, I'm not admitting to doing any strange things with jell-o, but every few weeks, me and some gal pals get together for the ritual of "girl's night".

One of my crazier friends brought over jell-o shooters made with lime jell-o and tequilla--I have no idea how she made them. They taste just like jell-o, so I forgot that there was booze in them. Then all of a sudden...whamo! Things got pretty silly after that...

Actually, after that evening, I don't care if I ever eat lime jell-o again.

so next time, use rum and strawberry jello!! LOL Actually I don't like jello at all, except for the things you can make with it....if you have the right molds.... I kinda sorta like ice for the same reasons, though now that I live under a rock jello is easier to work with!

So... Where's eddie and raerae? They must be sneaking.... around..... somewhere...

BBQing! YES!!!! OF COURSE! THAT'S IT!!

Shooters are dangerous! Last time I got driven home from a bar, we were drinking what they called "Blue Harleys" They were really good, I seen a few shakers of them magically alight on our table, but the last thing I remember is this big guy that we were out with, Bob, I remember him giving the waitress his CC, and he had this big mischevious GRIN on his face. Woke up at some girl's house I never been to before.

I don't know if she took advantage of me or not, I think probably not LOL but you never know!

windkist---you have to understand! My devilish girlfriend made me do it! This is not usual behaviour for me at all....ohhhhh, the guilt...

I was raised Catholic, but I would not consider myself a Catholic anymore. I've studied a few different spiritual belief systems (though not as in depth as some... oohhh, *sigh*) and I embrace a little bit of this and a little bit of that, just like I do when I'm cooking.

Still, I go to church for family events and I haven't burst into flames upon entry (yet). Nooo....I was just being a naughty, flirty former Catholic girl--because as you know, we can be the naughtiest.... See, I don't even know which icon to use!

Kelly,

They have reviewed me and the only way I knew was that they removed two pictures at different times. I put back the first one and it is still there. Haven’t put back the second one. I am thinking of just putting up pictures of myself only for now. Fun times over the weekend!! I love photography!

Did you get an email notice or something? I really don’t understand the criteria on this site that well, rule wise. I understand they are trying to curb abuse but sometimes it seems they don’t have that in scope. Oh, well.

Just don’t post nudes of yourself, or others, and I think you should be okay. If rk received emails from men you could ask him, or if you’re reading this rk send Kelly an email with a possible explanation.

We have all be good kids lately!!

I have been looking for a new job, big time. I GOT IT!! Feels great! Pay raise up the ying yang and a much better working atmosphere. The other place my boss and another would fart on each other, everyone else, spit their chew juice into drinks and laugh, encourage their friends they hired to sleep on the job, scream and yell and throw tantrums to and around those that don’t succumb to them and laugh when they hit them with something. I have stood up to them each time. Big Bad Mullet wearing jerks. They backed down each time, same old story with insecure macho men. I am so happy not to be there doing their work anymore!! YEAH!!!!!

Just had to toss that in there.

So, in Maine the bugs are so big you have to wrestle them to the ground and then skewer them with long iron rods and then plant them over a bonfire?? I hope you don’t have to wrestle them in the Mud Seasons! Females are only supposed to do that! Well, in my dreams! If they would let me join I would be happy to have my head in a thigh head lock!! Oh, my!!

I would have to eat Chocolate Pudding right after the shower down period. That’s just natural.

Thanks,

Eddie

kellylivinglife soap that is like having 2 cups of coffee??? what do you do, eat it?? I want the one that repels skeeters. And, Kelly, just so you know, I might view you more if you were nearer....lots nearer......view you in scintillating ways...........! LOL

Eddie I'm glad you got the new job, this means you can provide for your family in the style in which they would like to become acustomed! :O)

You may mud wrestle the skeeters here in Maine anytime Eddie with my blessing!!

Somewhere once upon a time someone was looking for a no-bake Cheese Cake recipe. Had to dig to find mine, it's easy and tastes more like real cheese cake...

8 oz riccota cheese
24 oz cream cheese
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp lemon juice

whip all ingredients together, spoon into a well greased spring form pan (if you use a graham cracker crust I will come over there!!) refrigerate 2-4 hours before serving longer is better.

strawberry season is upon us!! Even more than eating strawberries, I love picking them. There is something theraputic about filling those baskets.

Just got back from eating at Home Town Country Buffet. Steak, roast beef and Salmon! Nice stuff to stuff myself with!

I love that their Barq’s Root Beer dispenser is right around the corner from the Chocolate Milk which I add to the Root Beer! Oh, it works out great!

Normally they only have Chocolate Pudding, Vanilla and Tapioca. They still did tonight but there were additions! Sugar low Chocolate and Vanilla! So, I piled some of that on top of the regular and then to my surprise I saw Banana Pudding and Rocky Road Pudding! Oh, yea, that was a two bowl excursion! I don’t use their little saucer like bowls but go over to the soup tureens and get a soup bowl.

They also had real whipped cream in the banana split make it your self area. Pays to window shop!

I am stupidly full right now. Thought I’d celebrate my new job!

I am defrosting a nice Black Angus Round Roast and will marinate it with Ginger and Garlic and green tea. That should come out nice! I will do that up on Sunday, give it enough time to absorb all that goodness. I love those gallon sized double locking Zip Lock Bags!

The Rocky Road Pudding was awesome. Marshmallows, peanuts, bits of fudge and then they added broken up nice chunks of Oreo cookies!

The Banana Pudding had marshmallows and banana slivers which were neat. Better than bananas sliced up for some reason.

I normally would just take one of their dreamy creamy chocolate mousse squares with a touch of Chocolate Pudding on top. Nothing but Pudding tonight!

They had some great vegetables too, love vegetables. Squash, corn, carrots, string beans big and long with BACON, and with the squash zucchini and red bell peppers tossed in.

I also had a nice fresh spinach leaf salad with bleu cheese dressing slightly on top. A big piece of water melon too!

Ah, Broccoli, that is always the first thing I put on my plate. Steamed Broccoli! Good stuff!

I had two plates, plus the salad, and 2/3’s of each plate was vegetables.

Just had to share this and hope everyone is doing okay this weekend and having too much fun!

You know Windkist you could use that recipe for no-bake Cheese Cake in lasagna. Leaving out the pie crust of course.

Kelly, how’d you know that you were viewed? Oh, just hit me, in your Who Viewed You area. Maybe she was just checking you out. That could be a good thing!

OpeyDopey, hope the teeth thing is going along fine and you are recovering well. That can hurt for a day or two. Baby food sucks, but sucking it down is kind of fun! Some of them really taste good and others not so good. Squash was one of my favorites when I would feed my youngest sister. She liked it too. Maybe you could try some Chocolate Pudding! I hear it’s pretty good. Good thing you finally found this thread. It’s great!

Maybe the m ods know we’re here and are happy that we are corralled. Could be.

Windkist, a full bucket of strawberries is a wonderful thing to find. I love sitting in the middle of a strawberry patch and just sample away. Burp every now and then, gaze off into the distance. Eat another strawberry or two.

I don’t have a family but sure wished I did! Family like in my children and that. Plenty of nieces and a few nephews. Some are married now and with kids of their own. Man, am I old!

No-no-no! I want to wrestle Females, human Females, in the Mud of Maine!

Kelly, I’ve heard of stuff you wash your clothes with that repels insects. Haven’t tried it. I did hear about some stuff you wash your clothes in that gives you 30 spf protection from the sun. I kind of like that being fair skinned and having three skin cancer removals already. I might try it out. Like on some old t-shirts and put some sunscreen on half of my back and chest leaving the other not coated and wear the t-shirt out in the sun for a couple of hours.

Happy Days are Here Again! The Skies Above are Clear Again! Oh, Happy Days!

Thanks,

Eddie

Hey All...Ya know Eddie and I are over by the other Portland,,west is best!

But out here on the Upper Left Edge, by the mouth of The Mighty Columbia River..I never see skeeters! Yea! But, due to some save the sea lions thingy years ago, we are HUGELY infested...and they are HUGE! The docks are infested with them, some sag down into the water with the weight. People who live near have to hear them all night long, all day long.

You guys,,those things are called Hopsicles, get it right!

I am sick of chocolate pudding and applesauce and soft food due to tooth extraction, I have very little wisdom left, only 1 left, and it might get pulled next month, arg. I will be stupider than ever then...

the Maine Point --New soaps Same Old Dirts! Seals need a kick in the tush!
Posted: 6/30/2007 3:07:58 PM
Ha-ha, yea, we have big walrus’ hanging out all over! The seals are big problem too eating up the salmon right off your hook! Nothing you can do about them too. Seattle is the same way. The animals know we can’t mess with them, or figured out that we don’t, and they just take advantage of that!

They didn’t used to hang out but since no one can do anything to them they hang out more than ever before.

Sure would be nice to see how they BBQ up!

They don’t breed there so shooting a couple which would send the message to the others would clear them out for the most part. They are very rude too, worse than skeeters. Bigger teeth too!

Some guy shot a seal recently in the head as it kept taking the fish off the hooks of everyone fishing in that area. He got caught and fined and jailed. There is something wrong with that. Picture lions not able to catch zebras, there would be way too many zebras. Natural order of things comes into view here and we as humans are part of nature. Over hunting is one thing, which has never happened with seals and walrus’ so why the ban on even slapping them? People who’s Religion is Earth based that’s why. Nothing else. People pushing their religious beliefs onto others in extreme manners. Very few people in the world worship the dirt, water, sky, and fire. If they do they are worshipping a clay maker process thing. Add them all together and you get mud that is fired. What is there to worship there? Same people set SUVs on fire here, logging trucks, new homes being built, real brainiacs. Same people marching downtown burning soldiers in effigy, attacking personal and public property and destroying them and attacking the Police and anyone Not Doing what they are doing. I am middle of the road and can easily see these extremist left wingers calling everyone else what they actually are themselves. Sore subject.

You own and try to use a dock and you can’t. Just doesn’t work.

If these people had to live by barking seals day and night they would change their minds pretty quick. They don’t live there so they don’t care. It’s like letting rats infest some place and you can’t do anything about it. Doesn’t make any sense.

ARRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!! Shiver me Timbers!!!!!

Beersicles are Hopscicles?? Like in Hopps! What makes beer beer! Oregon sells the most Hopps!!

I still have to figure out a way to make Beersciles/Hopsciles. Maybe buy one of those sets of popsicle making things. You would have to eat a lot of them. That would work on a hot day!

Maybe we could feed them to the seals and get them drunk so they fall into the water and can’t swim well and let nature take it course! Drunk seals, they most likely would hold an orgy and then start breeding there regularly. Darn.

I am totally missing wisdom as all my wisdom teeth are gone! I don’t feel stupid but I know I am!!

Try some Burgerville Berry Smoothies OpeyDopey!! That might make things better for you!

Thanks,

Eddie

Mud wrestling of any kind is going to be problematic here in Maine for a while. At least, in the part of Maine I hail from. My well has gone dry. I had to haul water in 5 gallon buckets (bought lids for'em) to water dogs, flush toilet and water garden. Ain't life grand?!?!?

Water hauling took up so much time I didn't get to go pick any strawberries. Won't get any now til after the 4th....very sad....

Had to cancel BBQ at my place for 7th due to water shortage. Gonna take everyone out to eat instead.

Somehow I managed to get a virus and I didn't even have the fun of swapping spit with anyone! Sore throat, fever, sniffles generally feel like crap. I've disinfected my fingers before typing this, so you all should be safe....!

What a bummer Windkist!

On the water shortage and canceled but solved everyone going out on your dime to have fun and eat but mostly on the illness you have!

Hope it wasn’t from mishandled waters! At least you can poop and then dump some water into your toilet tank to flush. Just think about digging a portapotty of your own and then building it too! Moving it every now and then as you could only stand the smell of so much build up.

Have you thought about digging a well on your property? A pump and an underground cistern might help out.

EEWWWW, just thought of something. Not Mud Wrestling but Dust Wrestling! Oh, the coughing, eye gouging, pushing and shoving and that would just be the crowd watching!

Dirty Dusty Mud Wrestlers!

So much fun and nothing to do it in!

Thanks for disinfecting yourself before typing us this post of yours. Darn, now I have to go wash up too, just scratched my butt. Nope, I’m okay, just scratched my head, got a little mixed up there.

Ha-ha-ha, skeleton skeeters flying around begging for blood! Water shortages, are they normal for your area? Like in the common sense 30 to 50 year weather patterns that happen and not the over the edge global warming scary BS. Global warming is real but not made mostly by man and not as bad as they make it out to be. If it was man made why is it happening on Mars???? Gore Bore didn’t have an inkling of an answer for that one. Ha-ha-ha!

Hope you are feeling better windkist! Let Cheyenne and her puppies give you many kisses!

This weekend I fired up the smoker with some hickory and cherry wood, and slow smoked two huge racks of beef ribs, some kielbasas, and lots of veggies. DAAAYYUUM! I had my neighbors bring their dog over to clean up the bones. He got so full, he wouldn't even eat meat anymore. I still have lots left over for the 4th.

Hope everyone has a safe and fantastic holiday!
