| At what age does a man finally wake up and stop trying to score? Posted: 7/8/2007 11:27:20 PM | At what point would a man stop breathing? Lose the need for intimacy, friendship, companionship? Do we ever get 'old' in our minds? Our bodies mature and change but do we feel old? Or do we still have the same needs and desires despite our age? I know there are some things that I am not physically able to do at 46 that I had no problem doing at 14 or 15......... say climbing tree's.. or rather.. I have sense enough not to try it these days.
I think the desire for intimacy is always there no matter how old we are .. regardless of our age. People need to love and want to be loved. Even crusty old geezers.
There is someone for everyone.
Perhaps a crickety older lady for a crusty old geezer?
If someone contacts you whom you have no interest in you have two choices.. you can delete the email and ignore any future contact.......... or you can politely thank them for their interest but express you do not feel that they are a good match. Wishing them happiness on their search.. Most people will take the hint.

However, my thoughts on the subject.... older men are better in bed than those young ones....... you just have to find the right person...
I watched a funny movie the other night where the chick leaves the young dude for the 60 year old because she doesn't have to fake it with the older gentleman.

For others, they don't stop until they watch the woman of their dreams walk away because the wife gets tired of the crap...sometimes that's what it takes to get the guy to stop trying to score.
Still others, never stop because it is fuel to keep their egos inflated.

Obviously a man gets aroused and wants to have sex(biological), but the way they pursue getting sex is all cultural/ psychological.
If you don't want dirty old men out there then raise talk to your children about sex and relationships(at the appropriate age) and raise them to not be dirty old men!

| At what age does a man finally wake up and stop trying to score? Posted: 7/10/2007 6:33:30 PM | Funny you should ask this. Now I am not trying to offend you at all, but I am curious when women will stop looking for the greener grass on the other side of the fence.....Now my question labels all women, just like your question labels all men. I don't fall into the category of trying to score. In fact I had this conversation with my neighbor about dating today. He said it always scared him to death. He never knew when to put his arm around his date, kiss her or more. I told him that is why I am totally at ease and comfortable on a date. While I love affection as well as sex, the much more important thing to me is intimacy, happiness and ultimately enjoyment of the time I am sharing. I let the woman control when the kissing and sex, if there is any, happen. The reason I think this way is because sex is something that you do after a whole day or week of love making. I see them as two separate events. Unfortunately for me, most women don't know how to handle that and look for the good old stereotypical guy you described.......Take care and I hope you can find some different types for yourself.

Do any of them finally realize it's time to give up? I mean who wants some lame d---ed, crusty old geezer on top of them anyhow? It's disgusting, and if they want a lady's companionship, they should stop with the sex talk. Otherwise they'll keep driving us awway
when they are dead. | |

I have come across plenty of the same. It's possible you are looking in the wrong type of place. Who knows, but what I do know is that not every guy out there is trying to score. Some of us want a bit more from life then just getting sex. Hard to believe? Maybe so, but the nature of the beast is in everyone so if they are trying to score on a computer.....then they fail at life....Look at it that way. Makes me feel a whole lot better.

I don't know if it's a age but I think when the bone stops working to the point where even ED drugs like Viagra don't work is your only answer besides being in a crippling car accident where a man loses his feeling below the waist in a serious spinal cord situation. Just because you wish to retire you sexual organs doesn't mean we all have to too.
I hope you do realize I'm just making some jokes here but if Sexy talk doesn't get you in the mood what does? Feel free to share,,,,,, then when those guys Email you perhaps if they have done their Stalker Homework they can say all those things instead.

I agree with previous posts that say a male (and female) will want to enjoy a healthy sex drive. Of course, the definition of "healthy sex drive" varies from one person to the next. But I think most people will agree that sex combined with intimacy is healthy for the heart and mind.

Deb: Your 58 how old a guy are you talking about 90...geeez
she is probably referring to when a guy reaches his 36th birthday. It is common knowledge on the online dating sites that every man over 35 is a wrinkly old geezer who cannot get it up without viagra or cialis, and would probably have a heart attack if he did.

Posted: 8/3/2007 8:03:21 PM | | Somewhere between 70 and 85 - although more than happy to score - most are just happy enough to be alive. I think they collect some kind of male double air miles from 86 onward when they do both. Or maybe that's just one of those urban legends.

| At what age does a man finally wake up and stop trying to score? Posted: 8/3/2007 8:05:41 PM | I have a problem with the word "score". Has such a nasty connotation. I am 59, love women, love sex, but currently flying solo. Love to be in a great relationship too, but I am not going to sell my soul to get it. I don't need any toys or chemicals to perform [hate that word too]. I hope that I never lose the "urge", | |

| At what age does a man finally wake up and stop trying to score? Posted: 8/4/2007 9:07:25 AM | Sadly, this is more about greed than anything else. There are many many people, men and women, that have no idea what it is to be really in love with someone else. About as close as many come to it is the love they have for their dog!
When you truly love someone, you are not there to "score", you are in a committed relationship because you want to be with that person in every way. All the time. When you are apart there is a pulling inside that makes you feel like part of you is missing. It's not neurotic, it's just a little pulling that makes you want to get back and to be happy when you get back. If you take the long way home every night because you just don't want to get home, then you are not in love. And if you are just out to score then you are greedy and self centered.

| At what age does a man finally wake up and stop trying to score? Posted: 8/4/2007 11:22:22 AM | I believe that many men want to "feel" young, and that's why they continue trying to "score".. There's nothing wrong with wanting to feel young.. Men and women both try different ways to slow down the aging process..(excercise, eating healthy, etc) Lots of old guys just want to feel like they "still have it".. Sex appeal is something none of us ever want to lose, but it does diminish over the years.. Personally, at the age of 69, I've given up on hooking up with the "younger women" (almost) .. But there are still lots of mature women that appreciate the intimacy (sex) that us old guys want to give.. My grandfather was still going strong into his 80's, and I hope I've inherited the same quality.. BTW; my partner is in her 40's and she helps to keep me feeling young.. | |

| At what age does a man finally wake up and stop trying to score? Posted: 8/4/2007 12:31:22 PM | I do think that one ought to be friends first. But affection, romance and sex are not disgusting. And discussing it is a reasonable.
I gather that the OP is not much in favor of sex. That's certainly her choice. As I say in my profile, we live in one of the most sexually repressed societies on earth. So why should we be surprised to see that shown.
But that doesn't mean we need to make the same choices, and I for one choose not to. I believe that once a relationship has been established, sex forms an important part of it. So in the proper context, let's just say: Sex? I'm in favor of it!
