Over 30 no more PDA?? Why?

A lot of people see constant, neverending PDA as a sign of insecurity. Why does it "have" to be public? I am not talking about a quick kiss or holding hands or snuggling up in the movies...that type of thing...I'm talking about out and out "get-a-room-already" groping and making out in public.

It just seems like the people who do that feel like they have something to prove.

There is a HUGE difference between needing to show it publicly as some kind of insecurity and not giving a damn what other people think. I fit into the latter.

I don't want my kids seeing your private life. They ingest enough filth via the television... and I'm not interested either. Get a room.

I was thinking how sad that was and wondered why? when does being sophisicated and caring so much what others think become more important than showing your passion.??

depends on to whom and why you're showing your passion. are you showing it to your lover or the people standing around?
are you doing it because you want everyone to know you have a girlfriend or are you uncontrollably in love and can't keep your hands from each other?

I'm so totally the same way. I don't give a damn, i personally think people who do are just a little too uptight and worried about appearances. When i'm with someone and the mood stikes us both, i could care less who's watching. I definitely have nothing to prove to them. lol

I'm not gonna do it in front of your kids for crying out loud, but i'm not gonna hide away in a room just because you got a stick up ur ***. lol you live life the safe slow way you like, i'll do things my way.

like sheesh all kidding aside and no offence intended, why is it so important to you that people must hide in the shadows to share passion?

Sometimes it isn't even a question of whether or not I care or don't care about what other people think. Sometimes, it is because that sweet sensuous kiss reels me in so far that everyone else (but my SO) disappears from my consciousness & vision. I'm never giving up my rights to experience this, whenever or wherever.

Ok, it took reading some posts to figure out that you didn't mean I had to throw away my electronic gadgets.

I'm not a touchy-feely kinda person. In my younger years I was really uncomfortable with others engaging in that. Now it doesn't bother me unless it's me and 2 friends and they are busy being hot and heavy while I'm sitting there. Talk about feeling awkward. Now I'm dating someone who's more into PDA, and I've adjusted. It's nice; I like it. I think if my family was around though (parents, brothers, sisters), I'd be back to standoffish.

I think PDA is great. It shows that love can still exist.. now the tounge in the throat and hands in the pants thing.. well I would agree that it's not fit for public. They make rooms and hell mini vans!

PDA doesn't bother me. I am very affectionate with my guy! I don't care too much what anyone may think when they glance our way. But in some situations it's just rude to other people ... like to the cashier at the grocery store anxiously waiting for you to pay!
