Since tatoos are the fad of the moment do you really think, at the OLD age of 27, that they wont be cool alll of the suddon? If you want it...........Get it

Hey folks. Been thinking about getting a tattoo, however I am 27 years old.
I have had a urge to get more tattoos the older I get. I just like body art, but I think people will think it is a mid-life crisis or something. So I never do it. All I have is the one I got when I was about 21 or so.

| Tatoos in late 20s Posted: 12/16/2007 1:01:13 PM | My aunt went and got her first tattoo with me right before she turned 40...tattoos don't have an age limit as they don't for piercings. Also you shouldn't care what people think of you, you are you and you should be able to express yourself the way you want to. | |

| Tatoos in late 20s Posted: 7/8/2008 7:28:23 AM | I don't really think the age thing is the issue for me. I actually do the tattoos, My husband has lots of tattoos, if you take good care of it it won't do the fading and bleeding thing. Make sure you keep GOOD sunscreen on it ALWAYS! It is the sun blazin' on them that makes them bleed and get hard to "read". So if you take good care of it, it will be a nice tat even when you get old. However, the only thing I would "re-concider" is that you are still young really, and getting a tat all the way up your neck is quite the commitment. Some women might think about when you are going to parent teacher conferences and such.... There IS no matter how much we try to deny it there is a judgement to those who have tats. If you put one on your neck it will not be able to be "hidden" for those times when you want to look a bit more "conservative". There are a lot of men and women who come and get tats over 27. Just know that the removal thing is Expensive, and Painful and is a very time consuming thing... you can sit for an hour and get a tat, but it takes a year or more to remove that tattoo over several visits with the lazer. So... long story short... I love tats, I love the expression of what they are... Get a good one (spend the money and get at good one the first time so you don't have to get a cover up) and take good care of it... think twice about placement. Good luck! | |

| Tatoos in late 20s Posted: 7/8/2008 7:47:28 AM | | the funny thing about this thread is that in a couple of years , having tattoo's in your late 2o's is going to be very common espcially among women as they seem to be the ones geting them more now . so many young people in the 18-23 age group seem to be geting them so since there permanent logic tells me they will still be around when there in there late 20"s . they'll get to explain to there partner why they got a tattoo back in the days but as long as they get it somewhere not totally visible they should be ok . | |

| Tatoos in late 20s Posted: 7/8/2008 8:27:05 AM | feel free. EACH TO THEIR OWN, Its your body etc etc there are going to be women who say hell no the same as there will be women who say hell yeah. Enjot the hateful can of worms thats going to be opened with many "tattoos eeeeew" comments
Me personally, I AM A TATTOO ARTIST. But i dont like men with a lot of ink. partly because if it sucks i have to fix it and partly because frankly skin is such a sensual thing in itself it ruins a lot of the eroticism. And i'll have words with any ignorant who says that theyre dirty or just for bikers and hookers.
Because it is such a visible tattoo it may be more of deal breaker than most. Chances are that a non tattooed woman is not going to want to spend time to get to know you as soon as she sees that. If the religious aspects are the most important then chances are looking for a woman of the same is too in which case im sure she would understnad.

| Tatoos in late 20s Posted: 7/8/2008 11:47:41 AM | I am 50.
I have a tat of a Pi sign on my lower back.
I am getting a double helix on my sternum.
Just because we age doesn't mean we go to pot.
Sheesh.
