Posted: 6/14/2005 7:51:10 AM | Ok... For me, It is just something that helps the attraction part along! I would'nt judge a book by it's cover, but let's face it! WE ARE ALL shallow in a way! Some won't date a larger/ shorter/ person of different color,/ethnicity... whatever.... You must be attracted to the person visually.... How many times have you caught yourself checking out the person next to you at the grocery store? Isn't it BECAUSE you are "visually" attracted????? Shallow? NO! it is just something programmed into us as human beings I believe!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! The one thing that I PERSONALLY look at in messages is the spelling and the correct usage of grammar.... NOT that mines is perfect! (LOL)... but at least check it, before you hit send!.... My picture sucks, although it is the only one I have.... The gentlemen that I meet are always amazed at how much better (so they say) I look in person... So, while pictures don't make the person, at least they give you at least an indication of what they look like! | |

Posted: 6/14/2005 8:50:33 AM | I've had profiles with pictures and this profile without. I get better messages from guys who give a sh*t with this profile then I did with a long profile and pictures.
I was at the point if I was to hear "Wazzup! Your sexy wanna hook-up"??? one more time, I would have gone crazy.
Most "faceless profiles" are happy to give pictures after some meaningful chat - you just need to give them a chance. I agree some won't and not even I would get together with someone without seeing a picture first. But you need to put a little trust in the "faceless profiles", you never know who is out there. The world has run out of blind faith. | |

The reason for this; they aren't on this site, they're against it, remember? If the people you know are against this thing, then how are you going to explain how you met your new 'friend'?
To Cochese; You've never hit on me in a bar, (I hope, lol) so I don't know how you usually approach women. But if the first thing out of your mouth isn't; "Hi, my name's Cochese, what's yours?" then you should try it. It's a great opener. While not being a 'line', it does offer the opportunity for both people to start on even ground, and the chance for her to respond to a question. I usually follow this up with; "Can I hold your drink while you rack up the pool table?" This is usually my 'line'. Surprisingly, it works for me.
The same can be said for this site. "Hi you're hot, wanna hook up?" is unnacceptable. Women hate this. I expect most women just roll their eyes, and delete. Some will respond, but do you really want that? (Maybe, who knows)
Be yourself, or the whole relationship will just be based on two people being polite. Good luck. | |

| faceless profiles/where are all the unshallow girls?
Posted: 10/2/2005 1:56:22 PM | I don't think it matters if a person has a pic or not, if they seem like someone you'd enjoy talking to, why not? Sure, its nice to know what the person you're talking to looks like, but really when it comes down to it... appearance shouldn't matter. Like a few people mentioned already, they may not have a dig cam or a scanner, or may have a low self esteem, probably from people calling them ugly when they DO see their pics. It's what's inside that matters

Posted: 4/13/2009 3:52:38 PM | It's one thing to not post any pix at all, but I've seen many profiles that have no FACE photo, and POF says to report profile pictures that don't show the user's face.
Are we actually supposed to rat on everyone who doesn't have their face as the main pic?
If so, why do so many people ignore this rule? I don't know whether to feel responsible or meddlesome.
