Ok been a wihle since i seen this "woman-tat"forum.. I can't resist to put my 2-cents worth again.. I have 3 decent ones each mean something ..nothing gawdy..
Anyway..to each his or her own..love 'em or hate 'em...everyone has their druthers..
When I get sevearnce package and get laid off from my job coming up end of Jan, I will most likely get a 4th one and put on right side to even it up haha..

ok y'all take care (smile)

I don't know I need a woman with a little spice (tattoos and piercings). It's not a requirement, but certainly she must at least understand that I have my ears gauged, have a tat, and am in the process of sleeve-ing.

I think a tattoo, albeit permanent, if done correctly will look tasteful. Also make sure they are ones you can cover up unless you are certain you want them showing off at all times (a no-brainer but still...).

I have no tattoos. I am not a billboard.

I tell my children to imagine how it will be to explain that tattoo to your grandchildren.

I can only imagine how it would look.

I do have one ....piercing.... in each ear.

I loooooooove to show them to counterculture types as proof of my wild nature.

Or something...

I find it's much easier to express my odd side in clothing.

Bah you peope and your non tatto piercing "thing" We are in a new Era :P Soon the people without them will be the minority and odd ones out. Probably already are. Learn to accept. Your parents had to when you were growing up.

I honestly dont see anything wrong with girls and tattos.... just as long as there not "man like" tattos.... i'm talking about small cute tattoos. Those are cute... I seen girls with these huge Tattoos... something a guy would have... now that too me is a turn off.. but a small little tattoo is ok.

Women who get tattoos should hope they never get in an intimate situation with a guy who's turned off by them. Of course, that group excludes most convicts, gang members, and drug addicts--who like tattoos so much they have them themselves. So, women with tattoos can still draw on most of the guys in those highly desirable groups.

Matchless, you left out Bikers, Rednecks, and a lot of military guys (Marines just love 'em!). Seems like the available population of tattooees for the ladies in question may be a tad larger than for the druggie ex-cons you referred to.

I know. I don't know how I will hold my head up in polite society trying to explain to the doorman why I have no tattoos.

I'll be waiting to hear the barman shout "We don't serve your kind here!!"

But I grew up in Berkeley in the Seventies...my parents were the ones I had to explain to my friends.

So perhaps we will revisit the Star-Bellied Sneetches???

I have a tattoo, it meant something to me. It's not a big one, a dragonfly and a chinese symbol on my lower back and most of the time it dosent show. I dont brag about it, most of the time I forget to mention it.

Actually they already are the minority.

On average more and more people are getting tats and piercings.

They are becoming as common place as the cell phone.

All kidding aside, there is nothing wrong with tats.... I personally don't have any... (not old enough yet) But some are very sexy... I love the art.... and if done tastefully I think they're hot.

But if your back is Godzilla attacking the Monkey King and all sorts of beast start scattering about your body... well... could be a bit much. I personally love the one where Homer Simpson has just mowed the lawn... down there.

I love tattoos, i did not get my first tattoo until i was in my early 40's. I have always thought a long time about each one that i have gotten, they each have a special meaning to me. All my tattoos are covered up by my clothes, having worked in the corporate world they have (had) to be....

I met a girl in Butte Montana once who told me she had a tattoo...... She started unbuttoning her pants and said, "so... you wanta see my hard on?" Well, needless to say, i jumped back... and she said it again... "don't you want to see my heart on.... it's a tattoo of a heart on my hip!" Oh,,, right... your heart on... Boy was I relieved.

Now I quote:
"When I get sevearnce package and get laid off from my job coming up end of Jan, I will most likely get a 4th one and put on right side to even it up haha.."

Why is it that when I hear "severance package" I think circumcision?

Now that's certainly never going to be the subject for a tattoo?

By the way, lest I seem even more boring and stiff than usual, I wanted to mention that when I have talked to women about their tattoos, they have explained them, eloquently, as being a way to put the pain they feel inside on the outside, and I suppose that as a form of psychodrama, it has much value.

That being said, I am not yet ready to go plastering a stylized representation of a score of Rigoletto or Tosca across my shoulder, nor a harp tuner on my cleavage.

As I have said, I'm not a billboard.

(However I do know a very good singer who has to cover an enormous blue whale tattoo whenever she performs...we all compare notes about the best kind of industrial-strength makeup to use.)

I'm in NYC, and it's difficult to find women in the age group I prefer to date (mid-20s to mid-30s) who don't have tattoos.

I don't have any tattoos but I'm constantly asked where they are? People think because I have black hair and I nose stud I have tattoos too! I think they are attractive sometimes but could never pick anything I'd want on my body forever or that would match everything I want to wear! hahaha

Hey Old Folkie, you are behind on the times. It was about last year, this time, that the Marine Corp passed a regulation that Marines can no longer get tattoos that show, when they have their regular uniforms or dress uniforms on. I think these grossly large multicolored tattoos probably prompted that regulation to be issued. I've seen young men and women, here in SOCal, wearing tank tops, with those hideously large multicolored engravings, all over their upper body. I'm here to tell you they look revolting, in my opinion. I can't begin to imagine what motivates people to disfigure themselves to that extent ! ~ .....An Eagle or a Rose, with your girl friends name on your shoulder is one thing, but when the coloration and size of the Tattoos get so large you almost can't tell what race the person is, without looking at their face, things are out of hand in my estimation ! ~ .....C U.....
