(Unless of course, he's been decommissioned. Then you would have to get an S.O.S. tattoo on your stern) Maybe you could make it into a war memorial. Like commemorating the Battle of the Bulge or something like the Attack on Girl Harbor.

I think I did it for the shock value
I believe most people get them for the same reason. I sometimes watch those tattoo shows on cable and most of the people getting them seem to have self esteem problems. This is just my opinion and if you get a tattoo that's your business.
I do admit though, as fun as it was at the time, now being 38 and a mother, I've sometimes wished they weren't there. It was really fun trying to answer my 6-year old's question of why I had a picture of a lady on my neck!
Not to mention future employers, sadly some people don't think of the consequences of getting a tattoo. If someone wants to get a tattoo that's their business but I don't think they are attractive on a woman.Toe rings and piercings don't bother me because they can be taken off .

That's OK - I've got a big gun... we can work it into our play sessions...

There's a lot of carbon in your finger. So all it takes is head, pressure and time.

OK - I can supply one of the three.
But really - a tattooed ring with a diamond embedded in your skin... Better make sure the guy saying "I do" is serious...

| Women & Tattoos Posted: 8/20/2008 2:01:31 AM | I have 5 tattoos and love them all. I had been wanting them since I was about 10, and since in the following 10 years had not changed my mind decided to get them. Have not regretted them yet. I love looking in the mirror or in pictures and seeing the color also....I think everything looks better with color. The fact that I drew them myself and love art doesnt hurt. My mother has 5, my grandmother 4. Neither regrets getting any of their tats, mainly due to the fact that they all mean something. This has already been said repeatedly, but its not your body. If someones tattoos turn you off enough that you dont even give them a chance then obviously you werent meant to be in the first place. I admit, it does anger me when I read how trashy it makes me look to people, or how I would look better without them, but I just remind myself that opions are like ***holes. If hearing that made me regret them, then I had no business getting them in the first place. I didnt get them to make myself look cool or project my personality via skin art, just because I think I look more like me with them than without. | |

| Women & Tattoos Posted: 8/21/2008 12:19:12 PM | Us women with tattoos are beautiful.. i cant speak for everyone but inside and out, I am beautiful no matter if i have tattoos or not... we dont refer to them as tattoos anymore... we say "nice ink".. or even "art"... a lot of women have one tattoo, just to say that they have one and fit in... but as you can see, i am way beyond that point with a sleeve and 9 other ones.. i enjoy being in the tattoo magazines and the tattoo conventions showing off my ink! | |

| Women & Tattoos Posted: 8/21/2008 12:51:26 PM | | ok so whoever said a "tramp stamp" mean ur a tramp ummmm ur wrong buddy... so tell me what does a tramp stamp reveal about someones personality??? | |
|
| Women & Tattoos Posted: 8/21/2008 1:23:32 PM | | It's all a matter of preference I think. Personally I think tattoos on women are sexy as hell. I saw the pics on your profile "inkedmami9of9" and that sleeve looks incredible on you. The peacock you got on your ankle is also a beautiful piece. | |

| Women & Tattoos Posted: 8/21/2008 9:02:09 PM | I'm amazed that women don't have a problem with the permanence. I've never known a woman who can keep the living room furniture in the same place for a more than 6 months at a time.
(I like the peacock too... BTW)
|
| Women & Tattoos Posted: 8/21/2008 9:07:16 PM | Some of us are A-Typical women - we love the permanence of tattoos and we hate it when people move shit around on us so we can't find it. My furniture finds a home and stays in the same place FOREVER. People who need constant change drive me nuts. Of course, that's a relatively short drive ....... | |

My furniture stays in the same place FOREVER.
Now you sound like Helen Keller...
OT: The permanence issue will come back to haunt the people getting tattoos as a fad and for those whose tastes will change as they age. If they eventually elect to have them removed, the process is very painful and time-consuming, and the doctors make a huge profit margin on it. I wouldn't trust myself to believe that I would always be glad that I had gotten one.

|
| Women & Tattoos Posted: 8/21/2008 9:46:20 PM | And for those of us who DIDN'T get them as a fad and just love body art, we will love them forever and look forward to getting new ones. I've never had one moment of regret about any of them.

Who are these people who move shit around so you can't find your tattoo?

I grow weary reading post after post of what I honestly considered possibly noncommittal or at least somewhat unprejudiced peeps voice their unwavering distaste of "WOMEN & TATTOOS", which is their right, but damn...talk about beating a dead horse.
TY! | |

| Women & Tattoos Posted: 8/22/2008 6:01:12 AM | I was in Virginia last week. Now THAT was a strange experience - not a tat or piercing to be seen anywhere. Kinda like falling into a time warp in the Twilight Zone.
(BTW - I'm tatless, myself)

| Women & Tattoos Posted: 8/22/2008 6:58:33 AM | Speaking as a Poodle in "bad" standing:
Tatted women who act offended by people who stare at their tats are being disingenuous at best. They are there billboarding the wearer's taste, politics and/or sexual proclivities. They should be prepared to be stared at. For better or worse.
No whining allowed. | |

| Women & Tattoos Posted: 8/23/2008 12:23:52 PM | girls with tattoo:
It was cool back in 1996...you know, just ONE.
Now...it tells me right away, especially on the nape on the back (Santa Cruz tramp stamp) tells me three things:
-Hello...I'm easy
-Hello, get me drunk and I'll do you, maybe
-Hello, don't look at my tattoos! Only hot guys can look at it.
I work in a skate-shop, record shop...we sell tattoo equipment and the like as well here. Many girls with a lot tats are frankly...skanky

| Women & Tattoos Posted: 11/7/2008 10:48:31 PM | | Personally I dislike tattoos on women. I don't feel tattoos do anything positive for the women. Especially the women who choose to put tattoos on their breasts ! I will not date any women with tattoos or a woman who smokes. | |
|
| Women & Tattoos Posted: 11/7/2008 11:04:32 PM | | All depends on the tattoo itself the the placement of it. Not that girls don't look good in them but seen so many bad tats would rather they just have none, cannot stand the lower back tattoo hate it hate it hate it! | |

| Women & Tattoos Posted: 11/8/2008 10:19:47 PM | I once purchased a tattoo in the privacy of my home at a charity auction, but by the time I had the font figured out and all, the gal who had offered the tattoo was separated from her tattoo artist hubcap.
Sigh.
It would have been a small, elegant upside down "lethologica" (I had to look that up *again*) on a hip, where I could use it for a quick reference if necessary...
|
| Women & Tattoos Posted: 11/19/2008 7:44:24 PM | | This may sound cliche' but the female body is a work of art in and of itself. Why would anyone defile their body with "artwork" .. (he says as he disgustedly rolls his eyes). This is akin to drawing a mustache on the Mona Lisa. If you like the artwork so much have it put on canvas and frame it then hang it on the wall. | |
|
| Women & Tattoos Posted: 11/19/2008 8:42:12 PM | Hmmm...... >>>> looking at all the women tattoos on the wall
Yeah, ok... I'll have a woman tattoo. Can you put her on my lap?
wait... what? Oh, women & tattoos
ok... never mind | |
