| I love you! Posted: 7/3/2007 8:26:47 AM | | Totally agree with ron9, in my experience, you know when you are loved. It is evident in how you are cared for and you can see it in someone's eyes. The words are superfluous. On the other hand, I too, have been with someone who said it a lot and in the end it meant nothing. I knew when I looked in his eyes that it meant zilch. Words are cheap. Deeds are clear. | |

| I love you! Posted: 7/3/2007 8:38:33 AM | I think everyone needs to hear those three little words sometimes, and no I don't think words are enough to convey how we really feel but sometimes all we have are words. Like that letter in the other post or sometimes people find another word or phrase and they know when they hear it they are loved. I do think that actions speaks louder than words. It's in a kiss, a look, a smile, a touch, and in the twinkle of the eyes. It's in the little things that you do for someone and noticing the little things they do for you and letting them know you appreciate those little things they do for you. Yes I have loved someone so much that words were not enough. | |

| I love you! Posted: 7/3/2007 8:41:06 AM | Not only do I love you, I hunger for you. I think about you, sometimes when my mind should be on other things. Your well rounded, complex and always leave me wanting more. Even when my lust for you is overwhelming I have to stop and admire your perfection. You bring me such sinful delights. I live to keep you safe and dry. I love to eat you and have you melt in my mouth.
Yes, Godiva Milk Choclate Truffle...I truly love you...

| I love you! Posted: 7/3/2007 9:50:46 AM | Has any one ever loved someone so much that the words "i love you" just didnt seem enough... ... ..... my children tell me they love me to the moon and back Yes, I've had that with my 3 biological children and with 5 of my long term special-needs foster children. And, I have that love with and of the Lord also.
But.... very sad to say..... (really really wish it were differently)... I have never had or recieved such a strong love with a man. *sigh*

You know you deserve it and it's there for the taking in abundance.

|
| I love you! Posted: 7/3/2007 1:00:20 PM | I've said I love you and meant it however it didn't seem to mean or amount to much. And i've said i love you because it is the only words that even remotely resemble what i feel. I don't think the words are over used. I believe people do the best they can but fall far short of their potential.
Right now I Love You seems so small a word and i'm to small a person to even begin to express what i really feel inside. I didn't expect to feel this way nor would of i though I could feel like this. I don't even know what 'this' really is... I do know the person i am with has woken feelings that are so intense, so illogical, and hard to express that i think it will take a life time to do so. I just hope one day to be big enough a person to show her fully just how big this feeling, being, state... Is.

| I love you! Posted: 7/3/2007 1:07:11 PM | | I guess if those 3 words have not seemed enough, then perhaps the security of the knowledge you both feel that way and why might not be there. Otherwise, to me, those 3 little words mean a whole book, everytime they're said, and serve to let the other know for the bazzillionth time you're realizing your good fortune she said yes! I've only felt that twice in life and hope and pray I'm afforded it just one more time. | |

If you think the letter is bad, check out this link, sorry about some idiot putting 30 seconds or so of stupid stuff in the front, skip to about 30 seconds into the video for the actual clip.

It is read by fill in the blank and the background music, Ashokan Farewell by Jay Ungar is playing in the background. Sam Waterston reads the letter. Yeah me thinks more than a few of us softies might a bit hearing this. I know I almost always stop and think what's important when I hear this.

| I love you! Posted: 7/3/2007 4:16:14 PM | yep. well besides our own personal "language" we often used to speak to each other (many "love" words in our language), in English the word was "Adore". We said "I adore you" more than "I love you" (which was already dozens of times every day).
ok another thing....this is so weird...but it just felt so natural to say it.... "I WANT TO GOBBLE YOU UP". really.....i can't explain it, but i couldn't get close enough....I wanted maximum closeness. Kinda sick....makes me think of cannibals. All I can say is it felt so nautural to feel that way. And when he was sleeping I loved to lay close and inhale the air he exhaled....it was like sharing something on another level.
And he used to tell me he wished he could shrink me and carry me around inside his shirt pocket all day long.
Man.....that was love baby!!!! :-) WEIRD or not.....It was heaven!!! heaven on an LSD trip.

| I love you! Posted: 7/3/2007 4:20:33 PM | Just linked into that youtube video. Thank you for sharing it in the thread. Yes, definitely makes one stop and think about what is really important after all. | |

| I love you! Posted: 7/3/2007 4:42:27 PM | Pride's take, "I've always got a smiling face. Anytime and any place. And everytime they ask me why I just smile and say You've got to kiss an angel good morning and let her know you think about her when you're gone. Kiss an angel good morning and love her like the devil when you get back home."
(been told by more than one woman that they'd love me for ever. And now I know why in sports announcers sometimes refer to a minute left on the clock as an eternity. LOL)
|
| I love you! Posted: 7/3/2007 5:22:11 PM | From a woman's perspective, when a man puts a woman on the back burner whereby she is left with crumbs, a minute IS an eternity.
The letter from Sullivan to Sarah was so good I posted it on my 360 and added the following comments. Figured I share them:
"One has to wonder after reading something like this if, with all the progress we have made as a culture, we have really progressed at all. Love seems to have been confused with expectations that beggar description in today's culture. Committed relationships for the most part have become passe; marriage has become a merry-go-round of changing models if ya don't want the one ya got; people enter into marriage with the same mentality as ordering a meal from a menu; intimacy has become synonymous with sex; we've digressed from honor and integrity in relationships to taking an element of truth and perverting it to our own gain with no thought or consideration for anyone but ourselves. This letter, to me anyway, epitomizes the ultimate intimacy. I have no doubt that Sarah felt throughout the rest of her life her husband's spirit. No doubt at all."
What the heck! By the way, the remarks are not gender specific.

| I love you! Posted: 7/3/2007 5:23:55 PM | I think the statement I LOVE YOU has different meanings for different people you say it to.
A best friend I LOVE YOU MAN
A son or daughter I LOVE YOU HUN ITS OK
Mother I LOVE YOU WISH YOU WERE HERE
Father LUV YA
Sister or Brother I LOVE YOU NOW GET OFF MY BACK
But the true I LOVE YOU we all want to hear is the one when you look into that persons eyes and know without a doubt when they say I LOVE YOU they mean it at it makes you feel like you could do anything, you get all warm and fuzzy inside, you just want to eat them up when they say it, Thats the feeling I want to feel when I hear I LOVE YOU from someone special
|
| I love you! Posted: 7/3/2007 5:28:40 PM | You can "tell me your love" and it means very little!
You can "show me your love" and it touches my heart deeper than you will ever know!
|
| I love you! Posted: 7/3/2007 5:29:40 PM | Angleheart,
The thing is there are multiple loves in that letter...his love for his wife that only omnipotence can break, and yet his love of country comes over him like a strong wind and bears him to the battlefield.
The thing that got me thinking was...with my last breath...what will it be that I say? I pray maybe something funny like Oscar Wilde who said, "Either that wallpaper goes, or I do". Or maybe something profound. Or maybe the name of my one true love...who I haven't met yet. But knowing fate, I'll be on oxygen and her last name will be jacobjingleheimerschmidt and her first name will be twice as long...meh!
However, yes, in today's society we do mistake lust for love and we fall in and out of love too easily.
Cheers! | |

| I love you! Posted: 7/3/2007 5:48:18 PM | Onesimpleneed,
Oh I agree with you on the multiple loves and that didn't escape me. But what struck me profoundly is the ease with which this man openly expressed his love for his wife, at a level that is atypical today. It reminded me also of a quote I fell upon by James Baldwin:
"Love takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within. "
And in reading the letter, Sullivan had clearly removed his masks.
I surely hope your one true love has a much shorter name than that! The name alone would kill ya in that scenario!
Cheers! | |

Has any one ever loved someone so much that the words "i love you" just didnt seem enough Yeah actually right now. I am down the beach and I just got done reading some emails he sent me. I missed him today and I love him so much today - actually every day.
|
| I love you! Posted: 7/3/2007 6:56:47 PM | When the words " I love you" seem inadequate, how about something like... "I love you with every fibre of my being" or "I love you with everything in me"
Or.. the following paragraph my bf wrote to me a little while ago. I feel a little guilty about posting it as it is such a private thing, but it was so beautiful i had to share.
You have reached down into my heart and have awakened a passion I have never known, feelings and emotions I thought were dead, you have brought joy into my life, since knowing you every day is wonderful every thing is beautiful, when you hold my hand I am ten feet tall, when you kiss me I am putty, when we make love I am in heaven. I don't understand the feelings, the emotions, they go beyond infatuation, beyond mere lust, but I do know that I love feeling the way I do about you and know that together we can conquer the world.
