Ruby: thx for the words of encouragement ;) Yep, it's seems life is more enjoyable if we have a soh...

| internet dateing sux Posted: 6/8/2005 10:21:37 PM | | I've had MANY dates from the internet, some scarry (packing 9mm in a suitcase?) to a murderer, to guys who lived with their momma's.....GEEZ!! But ya know? ONE OF THESE days, I KNOW I will meet the right person. Meanwhile, I've decided to play it safe (?) and chat a while before any "meetings". | |

| internet dateing sux Posted: 6/9/2005 9:50:39 AM | My thoughts on internet dating:
I find men in RL more generous than the ones from online. By generous I mean more thoughtful, they are more romantic and put more thought into things. Men from online are all about trying to grope you like they just called an escort service. They are more disrespectful.
I'd rather date someone I meet from the grocery store, but they are all out with their wives lol.

| internet dateing sux Posted: 6/12/2005 1:14:21 PM | Don't feel bad........even when you get farther and "make contact" via IM alot can be lost in writing vs. talking in person with disastrous results. I have already had several near misses where my personality apparently doesnt come across nearly as charming via text as it would in person........not that I'm Prince Charming, mind you. | |
|
| internet dateing sux Posted: 6/12/2005 1:17:43 PM | | Actually, I have pretty much had nothing but positive experiences from online dating...whether it be here on POF or on Yahoo personals (which I removed because of the cost)...I was never much of a dater and now, watch out! It's a lot of fun! | |
|
| internet dateing sux Posted: 6/12/2005 3:09:47 PM | | Stay the course...that's my advice...dating is a minefield.....pitfalls abound...that's special someone may be just around the corner. | |
|
| internet dateing sux Posted: 6/13/2005 5:53:30 PM | Internet dating can be just as rewarding or suck as much as o/l. All it does is give you a chance at more contacts.
Don't expect more people looking for serious relationships.
Don't expect more people to be honest.
Don't expect more people to be attracted to you because of a profile describing yourself.
The internet is full of the same type of folks you meet offline. ALL TYPES. All it does is possably(did someone mention spellcheck) give you the chance to meet more of them. You still have to do your part. Make contacts and wade through the masses to find that special someone.

| internet dateing sux Posted: 6/13/2005 9:48:28 PM | Hi all, I was wondering...are you all here because this site is FREE? Are any of you paying to be on other dating sites? Do you think you have a better chance to meet someone on those paying sites?
I would love to hear your responses.

| internet dateing sux Posted: 6/16/2005 8:19:17 AM | hey seabird, I've tried a couple of pay sites ...american singles and lavalife to be exact. On american singles, not only do you have to pay to email or chat, but any one you wish to contact has to pay to open the mail.A double- whammy! And Lavalife, don't waste your money! It's a joke. I stumbled on this site through Google and although I've only been on here a week, I have my first POF date tonight and have been maiking friends on the forum sites, so ,by far , this is the best , easiest to use site I've seen. Oh, and ,just to stay on topic; internet dating IS tough! It's hard to describe yourself in 3 or 4 sentences, but hang in and who knows!I may be still single, but I'm also still hopeful. | |

| internet dateing sux Posted: 6/16/2005 2:14:25 PM | | Yes internet dating sucks. You tend to find people who say they want someone and the next minute they don't know what they want. Then theres that UGLY word REJECTION but it's all part of the territory online or in person.I'm not trying to sound negative here don't get me wrong although I do wonder what someone would think of my profile,a little advice please? | |

| internet dateing sux Posted: 6/16/2005 2:56:48 PM | | internet dating is really no worse than r/l dating. Actually i have learned to weed out the lies and deceit much better inline. it can be kinda hard to look past those big ole sad eyes when you are being shot one of those tearful, heart wrenching(full of lies of course) stories in r/l. And you know we women have that "nurturing thang" going on and want to resue or save every bum that crosses our path ......well most of the time. | |
