It would be Sleep, it's exactly that....It's sad really, how they "cast out" such a beautifull aspect.Such a beautifull 1/2 of their Deity,We wont even get into what a shame it is they dont know nature and her many faces. Let's look at the element's. Long before Christian's came from Jerusilem, We witches like other's of the old Shaman faith's recognised only 4 of the 5 element's, dont get me wrong, Magik wouldnt nessarily suffer much, The "5th element" is like a buffer, a fail safe perhap's, and it added GREAT knowlede to the magikal art's, and today where would we be with out it?

But that's their shtick ;)

The Goddess and God too can be vengfull, Diana the Queen of Witches teaching her children to make the "bad medicine," to make the Magik that turn's to poison. The true Practitioner's of the craft know that you wont see our true histories in any history book, you wont find it on the net, those of you who know your craft know that we've done harm just like everyone else, we are just NEVER seen. If Diana should come to me in physical form, then yes...I would pick up my grammies dark art tool's and make the poison magik, and join with my nature spirit brethren, but untill that day, I will continue on my healing path, and teach tolorance, the key to tolorance however is being willing to give what you get and vice versa.....

I've come to the conclusion, that "Witchcraft" and "Wiccacraft" really arent the same at all. The more book's I see on "Wicca" the fewer spell's of the "old religion" I see, Divining the future from an otter blatter, now they use Bee's wax in place of Hog's lard, and it work's! Ive used bee's wax several time's now in flying potion's and other ointment's.

All thing's must evolve. Some say that Gerald Gardner, was a fuzzy bunny,(funny how I never once heard that term, in all the Pagan Circle's Ive been in) and Stole, or something like that, the old religion, and said they come up with it. I say they took an old religion and helped it catch up to the time's. he took an old dieing path and revived it!He took The craft and crafted it around himself,as we teach our student's to do, For this he should be hailed, not called name's. Yes the word "Wicca" is around 60 or so year's old....But Exactly the same or not,They are our sister religion, younger yes...but no less precious to their Lord n Lady
So in closeing on that particular topic, are the word's wicca and witch interchangable??? If the Witch/Wiccan choose them to be...their word's..LIGHTEN UP LOL

I'm pretty sure it says in the good book that the greatest of all evils is vanity. And it is the height of vanity for one to place himself/herself and their beliefs above those of others. It is not the place of man to cast judgement of another, therefore how can one say it is a sin to be wiccan. Vanity is truely the source of the evils of this world.

I consider myself to be a gnostic christian with views that are absolutely the opposite of most of those expressed here, in fact they are more closely aligned with the wiccan beliefs. A lot of Christian's spend more time concerned about the messenger rather than the message. I believe in God and that Jesus had a message for us and it was one of tolerance and understanding, not judgement. How many times did Jesus have to say "Judge Not", but as we can clearly see, that has fallen on deaf ears. I also believe in the Goddess in her many forms from Lilith, to Isis, to Magdalene. Their message has always been the same.

I for one do not understand why wiccans even give the slightest care about it being a sin, except that one must be dilegent with respect to those that feel it is their God given right to oppress and control those different than themselves.

I thank god and the goddess that we live in a land where we can be who we are.

Peace

talked to ray buckland, who said that when gerald gardner and others were first writing, they had to water down paganism, because the unvarnished truth would never have gotten published. they put in a lot of things, like the rede, to make the old faiths more palatable to christians. he wished it hadn't been that way. others who followed his writings could tell more and more, and present more of the actual facts, because gardner and those like him paved the way.

Sidhe, Yes' I cerainly agree, that the "old way's" can get....gruff, truth be told I NEVER liked Hog's Lard, oily nasty stinky stuff anyway, bee's wax seem's much much cleaner, but get the Unbleached kind lol, and the fact's are that their truely DID need to be a bridge. Our day's of hideing draw short.

These new witches, or wiccan's as you prefere, have learned to make the magik in their own way, with new ingreidiance, I for one will embrace the wisdom in it, and, and embrace them as a sister religion.

I for one LOVE the rede, I love that little saying, an it harm none do as thou wilt...
but have you read Aradia's Gosple? she say's "harm none, and do as thou wilt. as this is the only rule you need." Now that doesnt nessarily proove the saying's older than 195,something, but if you take the time to look when the gosple's were published, you'll find it was published in the early 1800's.....By document's said to be written in Aradia's own hand, dateing back to around 1350

Diana's Witches are NOT a new concept...by any mean's

Dear Enchantress,
Where did all of this suddenly dark information about the old religion come from? Jesus Christ will not tolerate me having any darkness in my heart for anyone. There is no dark aspect in the human heart that is to be presented and acted upon, because that is what The father calls sin. King David had a vision sometime aroung 1000 BC in which "The lord, (Elohim or Yaweh) said unto my lord (Emmanuel, or the Son), sit thou on my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool" Jesus said "I am the Way, the truth and the life, no one comes unto the father but by me." He also said that "I (meaning Jesus) and my father are one, Yet my father is greater than I." while he was alive. Then after his resurrection, "All power in heaven and earth is given unto me. (Jesus)" After which point he ascended into heaven. Later he appeared to John the beloved apostle, Revelations chapter 1 and 2, sending warnings to seven churchs admonishing six for leaving the first truth and changing their faith. the last, the church of Philidelphia, was praised for it's strict adherence to the original truth. We are to pray for our enemies, not curse them. Love thy neighbor as thyself. If a brother does something against you, you are to go to him and negotiate amends. If he refuses, you go to another brother and the two of you are to go back and try to make amends again. if amends cannot be made, then you go to the church for help. Finally if you cannot get amends, you must forgive your brother and you forget about it. Our lives are so short compared to our everlasting eternity, and reward for following Jesus Christ, that it is not worth hanging on to grudges.
Christians have no need for magic because they know that even when bad things happen, there will be a good result in the end. And when things go right, they usally go right in ways that we cannot understand until later anyway. This goes back to the spiritual warefare against the angels in the rebellion. They do attack believers.
Before Jesus began his ministry he fasted for 40 days, and was enhungered. Satan came and tempted him three times. But Jesus prevailed against the temptation.
The source of the rebellion is already on the run. There is no place for the evil one to hide. Even when his followers killed Jesus, Jesus rose again to show that he had conquered Death. The last state was strongrer than the first. If Jesus had not alloed himself to die, there would be no redemption for sin, so it was The fathers will that Jesus give his life. Satan only has dominion over flesh in the natural state, but once resurrection occurs, perhaps satan has no more claim. In fact, Being saved, means that your sins have already been paid for, and when you recieve the Holy Ghost, it is a foretaste of the resurrection, because you recieve power over devils. This power over devils is that you can lay hands on a person and cast out devils.
Well anyway I meant to say that all ill feelings against another, all sin against another come from the struggles of this world system set up by the angels of the rebellion.
Christians live in the world as a witness of the kingdom of God, but we are not a part of the spiritual wickedness of the world. Sadly, the world is so tempting. But abstaining from it has greater rewards than partaking of it, even in this life. But after this life, we are to be kings and priests of the kingdom of god.

How is this different then some of what we call magik?

I find so many of the same things in Christianity as I find in Paganism and wonder why it is so necessary for Christians to try and tell us that our path is wrong or sinful.

There is no sin here.

Well Tjstaar, all I hear is that with out Jesus Ill roast in hell...Fine Ive been preaching my religion. Because I beleive life with out the Goddess will be worse than it would be with Satan. The really big diffrence, is I have NO beleife in your god or your satan. The Goddess chant didnt phase you a bit did it? It's your loss..not mine.

And I also notice (even as negitive as your own religion can be), when you hear my preaching, you dont even respond to it, you just ask me why Im so negitive. Im negitive because, the Christian teaching's are KILLING our world.....That's right I said Christian teaching's. You people who feel the world was put here JUST for you. When in reality were here for her. You use the most precious resource you have as a trash can. You curse Mother Nature, and worship her consort instead. You litter her, you poison her,you damn her, you own mother!

Im a mother, I dont expect a man to understand a mother's love, it's really all the proof I need to know that the Christian/muslim faith's are made by men FOR men, not both as we do.Im not saying a father's love isnt as strong, Im just saying it's diffrent.

I wont speak for other Pagan's, but I beleive that their male God is the same as our's. If you look at the Pagan Horned God, you find the chariteristic's of both God, and Satan, Dark and Light energy, He look's like Satan, and act's like their god. "the Thunder is my hoof fall" but he's NOT Satan, he is our "Stag Lord" the god of the hunt. He was the Sacrificial beast, to be killed that people may survive the harsh winter. Being born, liveing, dieing, and being reborn in a timeless cycle, it's symbolic of the wheel of season's.

I beleive their divine and our's are one in the same. I just think their a little confused on how to go about remembering their Mother...

Awwww, never, well then I'll convert for you then hun, as my whole reason for liveing is to be sure we agree....

The FACT"S are there, if you have the patiant's and the open mindedness to look, Christian's arent the only one's who are guilty of this. As Wicca become's older, and make's it's way I see them falling for some of these same Dogma's, that their right and everyone else is wrong, Magik Practioner's of every kind and religion's of every kind act like they just want something to "cast out" be it Sheperd God, or mother Goddess. BTW people beleiving such thing's such as Im right and everyone else is wrong.

I'm not saying your wrong. I'm saying the Bible says you are...I'm not the ultimate authority..God is, Dogma, Catma..Parrotma, Ratma, MaCatMagandi...call it what you like..the question was "is it sin to be a Wiccan". I think the bible is being talked about here not some other religions view point of Wicca...So the answer from a bible stand point is YES..

The following is taken from "myfortress.org/manuscriptevidence.html"

One of the most famous objections to the Bible is that it is corrupt, edited, and unreliable and therefore cannot be trusted. Again, this statement only reveals a person's bias and/or lack of knowledge.
There are 5,500 ancient Greek manuscripts that agree 99.5%, this insures that what we have been handed down is reliable and faithful to the original inspired autographs, which were, "GOD breathed." That .5% has nothing to do with the fundamentals of our faith, but minor issues which in no way, affect Christianities unique claims and precepts.
As you can see by the graph below, in order to dismiss the Bible as, "corrupt" they must also dismiss Plato, Aristotle, Caesar, and Homer. Our copies are far superior in number and accuracy, so as you can see, they have no footing on which to stand, we might as well dismiss all of history if we deny the Bibles accuracy as we have it.

Works.......................Date Written.............Earliest Copy............# Manuscripts

Aristotle's poetics.......384-322 B.C..............1100 A.D...................49

Plato's tetralogies.......427-347 B.C..............900 A.D......................7

Herodotus.................488-428 B.C...............900 A.D.....................8

Tacitus.....................100 A.D.....................1100 A.D..................20

Thucydides................460-400 B.C...............900 A.D....................8

Homer's lliad...............800 B.C.....................400 b.c....................643

Caesar's Gallic war.......58-50 B.C..................900 A.D....................10

Livy roman history........59 B.C.-17 A.D...........900 A.D....................20

New Testament...........48-95 A.D..................200 A.D.....................5,500+

Old Testament.............1500-200 B.C.............125 B.C.....................1,000+

As you can see there are no New Testament originals available for the era of Jesus and the Apostles...Thankfully or the Roman Catholic Church would be worshipping them as well as Mary..
