I think nature is cruel to both men and women. Women are at the height of their physical attractiveness in their twenties.
It's not nature and there's nothing cruel about what happens to men and women as they age. People assume there's a cause-and-effect relationship between age and looks when the real culprit for the decline in appearance is neglect and abuse - plain and simple.
You drive a new car off the lot and for the first few years you can neglect maintenance and it won't show. Eventually though, without care and maitenance, that car's paint will fade, the engine will sputter, and the tires will go flat. By the same token, there are cars on the road that are 20+ years old and look as new as the day they left the factory.
A great deal of women in their 20's look good because enough years of neglect and abuse haven't accummulated to have a substantial effect. The same holds true for men. Conversely, there are some great looking women and men who are 40 and beyond who have taken exceptional care of themselves and they still have bodies that appear half the age of the typical person of the same age.
But it's a lot easier and certainly more comforting to believe that nature is the reason for the decline of our bodies, isn't it? | |

Just keep drinking your carrot juice, or spend every other month in a spa with mud or hot stones all over your body. If you want to get spiritual about it, you can find a "vortex" or "healing crystal." I think you've watched Wrath of Khan one too many times.
Some of us have to work for a living. We choose not to live in a bubble sheltered from the effects of ultra-violet rays or gravity. Live in the real world and perhaps they'll write something other than "perfectly preserved" on your grave stone.
We all age, and we all should act our age. Frankly I would not want a 40-year-old woman who looks or acts twenty. | |

As a 20 year old girl, I just wanna say tht just coz the 20 year old girls u have spoken to are like tht dont mean we're all like tht! girls my age wanna have fun at the end of the day, and i dont mean we are all sluts or anything, but we wanna hang out with our girly groups and chat about u boys n stuff!
and as for being able to hold a conversation, maybe its u not them!
i'm not being mean im just saying maybe you are expecting too much?
and don't tar us all with the same brush, every single person is different, tht is what makes the world so interesting!

I believe sometimes though it takes time for people to learn to accept a person. I mean some women in my age range don't like me because of some sports teams I like. I have always dated women older than me because I have always click with them. As I get older I see online dating has change and lately I have been turn down from women in thier 20's and granted I have three college degrees and a down to earth person. The only time I really have had a date with a women in their 20's was when I was playing college baseball and hoops in college and now me being a school teacher some women look down upon what I do. I always had a passion to make a positive impact on a person's life. There are great women in their 20's on this site I just have not found anyone who would give me a chance. The "20's" of today have been raised in a "girls gone wild" society, a ME ME ME society, an "entitlement mentality" society, and it's a whole other world from what I come from. When I was 20 I was a homeowner, by the time I was 24 I was married and had two little boys. None of my friends who weren't married were using personals with half naked pictures, and they weren't Girls Gone Wild wannabes, running around with daddy's credit cards. We didn't need $1200.00 purses.
The women you are talking about think they are always going to be able to get whatever they want with their looks, why should they learn to be more interesting than a box of rocks, conversation/intelligence-wise? | |

Glad to see your guy perspective on younger guys. Couple like me and I sort of give them the little lecture.
My sons are barely younger than the 25 &28 yr old. My sons will be 20 and 17 both July. I kid you not, the 28 yr old seems to have the exact personality as I do. Sure he was not a distant brother I don't know about? Ha-Ha. Nah he doesn't look like me any. He is Polish, said he gets mistaken for Mexican in the summer time.
But, I think logically, these young men may want to marry and start a family one day. They don't want my kids who are probably bigger than they are. | |

Posted: 5/4/2009 9:11:05 AM | I know that you are all saying that there are exceptions to the rule, but I just wanted to explain my point of view as I thought it may be helpful. As a 20 year old woman I have no desire to go to the bars and slut it up, but I do have a great respect for those who do-- they are doing what is expected of 20 years old to do: go out, flirt, get loaded and have fun. I personally do not like to be viewed as a piece of candy or be grinded upon by guys who do not know how to dance whatsoever.
But, I'm not "ugly" either, like some people may assume if you're not at the bar scene. Apparently I'm attractive, but also can hold a conversation. I don't know where you all have been hanging out, but 70% of girls I know are like that. They're just doing their own thing instead of going to bars. And also, just because they may have nothing in common with you, does not make them stupid. It just means that you two are different. It may help to be a little more openminded and to not assume people are a certain way because of how they look or who they hang out with.
I remember reading a comment about how younger women only date older men for the money. I believe that was completely off base. I am currently dating a 31 year old man; not because of his money, but because I love him to death and he treats me with respect. I have always thought that older men are more attractive; they have grown into who they are to be both physically and mentally. I like a guy who knows who he is and who is confident about himself - as is.
Maybe I'm "different" because my parents were both very laid back and I was a tom boy as a kid. Or, because I had two older fantastic sisters that I wanted to be just like. Either way, I am not a "ditz" "whore" "slut" "valley girl". And even those who are stereotyped that way have a lot to offer intellectually if you stopped trying to look up their dresses and took the time to listen to them instead. | |

Posted: 6/13/2009 10:55:54 AM | I totally agree with this. I am 20 years old, yet I am not into those scenes either. I spend my time working to pay all the bills that many people my age, and older, still have their parents paying and have many things to talk about. I also consider myself classy, though to my peers I call it nerdy. I am extremely interested in Classical music and have made it my course of study. I do like going on dates to the Symphony and have more Mozart-esque CDs than pop, rock, country etc...combined. Is that a good thing? I think so. Does it make me better than my peers? No. It simply means while they're out having fun with their friends in the bars, I'm having fun with my friends in a recital hall. I'm fully enjoying my "fun time" in life.
As far as the claim that 20 somethings don't tend to send informative messages or replies, I'd have to say I disagree. I had to change my mail settings on this site because I was receiving way to many messages shorter than the average text message. I was replying to them with information about myself and loading them with questions to get any information from the guy, all of whom have been a few yrs older than me. I know full well that I am probably an exception, but I know I'm not alone. My suggestion would be to contact people who don't have pics that show themselves as partying, extremely hot, prissy, etc. You are probably better off contacting people, at least in my generation, that have no picture, but have a lot of substance on their profile.

I find that most older adults who say "all 20 year olds do this" (are drunks, can't hold conversations, immature, etc.) were those things themselves when they were that age. Almost every time I hear that phrase, it's followed by "I know I was like that back then, but I grew out of it." There are plenty of young women, and men, who don't fall into the immature-young-and-dumb group, if you bother to look for them. | |

And guys have been brainwashed by the media to think that women are just pleasure toys for them to have their way with. Until these societal ideas change, good luck finding a meaningful relationship. Finding someone who does not buy into these twisted ideas of the opposite sex is like finding a needle in a haystack. But if you look long enough you will maybe find that needle.

By your pics and profile you're what's known as an alpha male.
Even growing up you were most likely seen as a leader and not a follower.
The majority of people look up to you if not on some occasions envy you.
The only female type that would be attracted to you would be an equivalent.
an alpha female.
the insecure ones, no matter how good they may look will easily tend to carry a chip on their shoulder to one up you while in your presence OR just run away.
and that's about it.

You got to get past the bloom of youth sometimes you reach around 20 but for some it could be well into there 50s until they start maturing.
Want to find a good girl go for something classy, casual have there clevage at full bloom. I agree with you. When I was in my 20s I too became a homeowner. Also had a badge and a gun while working for the Sheriff's Department as a Deputy Sheriff. I started saving for my first house when I was 21. When I talk to people in their 20s today about such things they look at me like I am crazy. All they want to do is party, party.
