| What is it with girls in their 20s
Posted: 8/12/2009 8:30:57 PM | Here is what happened. Girls and young women are socially constructed to be the way they are or in what you are referring to as "unclassy". They grow up reading garbage from so-called preposterous "sex columnists" in such scholarly readings as Cosmopolitan and etc... who almost hail promiscuity as the highest form of liberation.
Here comes the fabulous life of participating in the hook-up culture. Hey let's hook up now and ignore each other later. Women are told that they don't need a man. They can be independent. This is all thanks to the feminist movement and the sexual revolution which these girls in their early twenties are extrapolated products of. For centuries feminists have been propagating these myths that men and women have equal desires and reactions to casual sex. Men and women are really the same and why can't women have sex like a man? Hello Sex and the City. That show also has caused a lot of young women who are very impressionable to act the way that you are referring to.
I can go on and on about this. This is what I have been studying and am writing a book about as I am getting my PHD in Sociology. Many young women have been practically brainwashed on this combo of girl power feminism and the Playboy philosophy. However, after participating in this culture they start to realize that they actually do have emotions and start to become bitter and angry towards man saying that men are shit but really they let them get to that point. Women have a hormone called Ocytocin that men lack and it gets released every time thy have sex which forms a sense of attachment and bonding to the person they are intimate with. No wonder why women are deemed as crazy! They are told to have sex like a man yet physically they can't and it creates a bad mental hygiene. | |

I've seen a bunch of ladies in their early 20s (my age) on this site, and I have to say, albeit they are extremely gorgeous and would get heads turned, there seems to be a lack of sophistication, classy-ness (if that even is a word), or lack of conversation skill.... and just for the record, there are the exceptions who just by talking would take your breath away.... I am pretty positive that that's what guys, at least in my age, would want to settle with...
There is a reason why maturity and poise is earned with wrinkles. If say the younger women had "everything" meaning the equipoise that you so crave who would want to be with the older ones? There is order in the universe afterall  | |

I wish I knew then what I know now. Although I was faithful to my boyfriend, I made alot of other dumb mistakes. | |

I think it's like the chick at the top of this page said... it's conditioning.
Women and men are taught that it's ok to go have wild casual sex like it's nothing and walk away from it...
Why in the world would someone want to go and be "articulate" when you can just have meaningless sex with no strings?
It seems like a waste when it's "easy" to go out and just have sex... why bother be "smart" or "mature" when the guy or girl you're hooking up with isn't?
It DOES suck when I meet a chick who can't keep up a decent conversation but she's pretty... it makes me wonder how she'll end up in like 10 years. I've known a girl for 7 years and she's gotten by on her looks alone... but now that she's jobless and broke she realizes she doesn't have much experience in anything and isn't very "bright" or "mature".
I ono... men do it too not just women, but it sucks when a woman acts like "sex and the city" because then you get other women telling them it's ok. Then you have GUYS tell them it's ok just to THEY can have sex with them... then leave.
Weird how this world is full of crap like that... <_<
But hey... I guess that's why I'm single. I refuse to lower my standards and commit SERIOUSLY to someone who's an airhead but pretty... doesn't equal to good times IMO.

Posted: 8/13/2009 7:51:51 AM | Cyrus, I was taught to respect myself and my body, which is why I only have sex when in a relationship and in love. I've never been with a married guy, never done a 1 night stand, or an fwb and never will.
That blows your theory that women are taught that it's ok to go have wild casual sex like it's nothing and walk away from it right out of the water.
People, men and women, can be mature or immature at any age. | |

Some women in their 20s are indeed still very much children, spoiled, selfish, completely lacking in any social graces much less sophistication, whereas others have HAD to grow up fast, due to the death of a parent, a dysfunctional family that they had to move away from, or any number of factors. | |
