| What is it with girls in their 20s

Most young ladies act and dress the way they do because they think it is cool and what the boys want... Most woman I am not so sure at 20 know what classy means, including 2nd poster, according to your pictures anyways. But when I was 20 I felt the need to be as sexy and hot as possible, didn't talk book smart because boys were not interested in that. A song comes to mind, Girls just wanna have fun... Just like the boys.
Ya I think Jersey101 is exactly right. Girls, much like guys, want to feel desired. Sadly, trashy is more attractive than intelligence while you are in your 20's to most people.
I really think this statement covers both genders though. Guys brag about how many women they sleep with, women will dress as scandelous as they can to gain attention.
Bottom line it is just immaturity, eventually they will grow up and realize exactly what class is. | |

You're fumbling for your adult identity (at least I know *I* was at that stage!) , think about it, you're going to college/university, trying to figure out what to do for the rest of your life, many times facing responsibility you never had to - it's normal to stumble a little on your path to greatness/maturity.
My best friends sister is 20 , she is insecure, a really honestly lovely girl but having a hard time finding her place in life - my friend and I dish out the sage wisdom we've gathered in our 31 years of life but she just doesn't get that theres more to life than going out , drinking/partying and dating losers.
The person you are when you're 20 is , in many cases, nowhere near the person you will be from 30 onwards, and I say , thank god for that ! (at least in my own case hah) | |

Of course there are some exceptions to the rule, but I think many people would consider themselves to be more wiser and mature at age 30 than age 20. | |

More like women conform before men do. Conformity is often mistaken as "maturity." Furthermore, women do not conform as quickly and to the same extent that they used to for a variety of reasons -nor for that matter do men.
but in experience, I find it quite the opposite... is it just me, or are more guys in their 20s into women who are older...
I was when in my 20's but not generally for the reason you might think.
and I know what you are thinking... the SEX factor right?
I was not thinking that at all actually...well, mostly not anyway.
Well, let's put that aside for now because there are young guys who like to have their fantasy fulfilled ever since American Pie... but there are other guys who enjoy the conversation, classy, sophisticated type of ladies... and they happen to be ladies in their late 20s or older....
Indeed (as a rule that is true). I was basically an educated fool and slacker coming out of high school: not a good combination. (Was reading at high school level by third grade basically and had a way of absorbing myself in books.) Plus, I never had to study for much of anything until eleventh grade -getting A's and B's as a rule prior to that time while rarely doing homework, etc. As a result, I did not know how to study...learned in college after two years in high school of pretty bad grades and one quarter of poor college grades. (Amazing what having to pay for one's own education can be a motivating factor but I digress.)
But even with that, it takes time to become comfortable in one's skin and with intelligently shunning unnecessary conformity as opposed to the sort of blind rebellion that is common to youth.
I've seen a bunch of ladies in their early 20s (my age) on this site, and I have to say, albeit they are extremely gorgeous and would get heads turned, there seems to be a lack of sophistication, classy-ness (if that even is a word), or lack of conversation skill.... and just for the record, there are the exceptions who just by talking would take your breath away.... I am pretty positive that that's what guys, at least in my age, would want to settle with...
One reason for that is much the same reason that men in their early 20's lack sophistication as a rule: they have not lived in the world that long and there is a period of more rapid transition once they get out of high school and into college. By the middle 20's, much of a person's substance is in place and while subject to further refinement with time, self-education, and simply living and experiencing life, there is nonetheless a lot less sharp shifting of paradigms as is the case when coming out of high school and through college years.
These sorts of things take time to cultivate into some kind of refined form - with most people it starts happening when they are in college. Either way though, the analogy of wine improving with age also can (and should) apply to intelligence and personality.
Thoughts? Ladies... gents.... holla back... wanna hear your take/perspective... disagree/agree..

Take into context ones education, background, experience etc. Age doesnt shape you into the person you are, life does. So of course the 20 somethings are generally different then the 30 somethings, they have 10 years of experiencing life on them! | |

I almost always date younger men, because that is what is available. Most of the time, I have a great time. Yes, I find myself making excuses for lack of experience. Need a tougher skin when dealing with inexperienced young men.
Had a great meeting last week, still way too young, I'm beyond caring about age at this point.
I get stoked when someone over 40 asks me out, it's so rare. | |

Thats sad, your old enough to go out and get what you want to make what you want or need happen, and yet you throw temper tantrums? They are not worth while, nor are they a turn on. Grow up your not five anymore. With your attitude its no wonder your single and on an internet dating site. While there is something to be said for an attractive female, there is also something to be said about an intelligent one. I dont care how sexy a woman thinks she is when i read or hear ebonics or improper use of the english language its an immediate turn off. In the animal kingdom most prospective mates need to not only attract the opposite sex they need to show them how clever they can be, intelligence in the animal world is a must without it there will be no survival. Sadly thats not the case in the human world, we as a people have become so consumed with beauty that the rest no longer seems to matter. Why do you think we have fifteen year old girls throwing up in bathrooms to maintain their figure? The bottom line is intelligence is the one weapon you have in this world that can not be taken from you. At some point in your life you may need to rely on your brains to save your life, would you survive? Its not "cool" to be stupid. | |

Went out with my girls last weekend the young pups were sooo drunk and sooo rude
I was like damn!!! We have a whole generation of young men who don't understand the need to be charming.Not a clue about how to woo!!!! They don't even bother attempting to impress a woman they are attracted to. ....And it is not all their fault because if the girl is perfectly willing to "hookup" with a guy without demanding anything in return....well why bother buying flowers and taking her out to dinner eh? Your generation is screwed and your welcome to it | |

I heard it stays that way for most of your life. Older guys with younger girls, usually it's not the opposite. | |

When I was growing up the girls were more mature and the boys were not.
Now with the boys having mothers that work and often the boys have to make their own dinners and do their own laundry they are not coddled like they were before and they see the mother as a strong independent woman not just his slave or caretaker lol
so henceforth they the boys are more mature and attacted to woman like their mother who are grown up mature woman...
So the girls use to mature more as they had to do more back then
but the whole USA got stuck on this obsession with youthand with making young girls looking overly sexy
sooooooooo now you get young girls who come from messes up families
that have no obligation at home and often not any or a good father figure so they are needy and immature and spoiled and dress act overly sexy
not caring about their intellect as much
and you get the new strain of boys who are much more mature view woman much differently and again are attracted to older woman like their mom who work are sophisticated and mature....
