Personally, I don't think I have much chance with anyone who is taller than me because I know that most women don't like dating shorter guys for various reasons.
But when I do, (rarely) see a tall woman walking down the street with a much shorter guy, and you know that they are 'together', I think its fantastic. They/She obviously doesn't give 2 hoots what people think, they are being unconventional and good for them. Never be a sheep of society, buck the trend, be different, live on the edge, be true to your heart!

I've met taller and shorter who were interested. It was mostly the 6' beautiful fit blondes who didn't seem to care that I was shorter than them. But then again, they could pick anyone they wanted. I think it's a feeling of being protected by a taller man, I also like chunkier men than the skinnier version, each to their own though, although I'd never say never. | |

I'm 5'10" and a half,when i wear heels,which is quite a lot of the time,it makes me over 6',Ive been out with men shorter than me,once or twice,and i feel personally that it looks daft.I've now met a lovely man(on here)who is 6'3",and that suits me just fine.But i think its down to personal choice,and he suits me

I am pretty tall myself 5ft 8 without heels and have to say I have now dated some shorter guys and there are some pretty hot one's out there! So for me, dating shorter guys is not a problem.
Oh yes, there was one guy who had a complex about his height and asked me once to stand at the edge of a road whilst he was on the pavement, needless to say that did not last long.
I think some girls associate tall with big, strong and manly.But do we really all want that type?
Im looking for good personality, humour and intelligence, none of which are obvious to the eye. Mind you having said that i do think the eyes give it away.
Might be better to stop looking up or down and see the person for who they are. That's all any of us want really, isn't it? | |

I grew up with 5 brothers taller than me. They're all 6' and over, as is my Dad. I'm 5' 9 in bare feet. I've usually gone out with people 6' and over but have dated people the same height or slightly shorter than me. It does feel a bit strange to be with someone smaller than me, must admit. Not that it stops you having a good time. But can give you a crick in the neck after a while. | |

Both socially and instinctively there are mental images of what makes someone a compatible mate that we apply
Masculinity is to an extent defined by stregnth and stature, whereas femininity is more defined by delicateness and grace
Many women will feel more "feminine" with a man who is physically larger than them and almost masculine with a smaller partner
Many men will feel more masculine with a daintier smaller partner than they would with some hulking bruiser of a woman
Some women will see a smaller man as almost "feminine" in their eyes, and some men will see a larger women as more masculine, which gender confusion aside wont have as much appeal to a stauch hetrosexual person
Obviously these arent constant and will vary in degree from person to person which is why peoples tastes vary so much and hy there are always SOME exceptions
Whats I do find really funny tho is women who bemoan men who wont date women larger than them that also wont date men larger than they are, and men who complain women who are taller wont date them but wont date women fatter, but the same hieght or shorter than they are

Posted: 3/21/2009 4:54:17 PM | yeah I'm 5ft 4 and its an issue for the majority of women. its worse on these dating sites. i've even had dates arranged off here and then suddenly they've said " I Cant meet" and then never messaged again after being really nice in the emails as they never noticed my height in the profile... doesnt bother me to be honest.. I wouldnt want to be with someone like that anyway so they've done me a favour. I think the best thing is to go out and meet people because these sites are too easy to just move on to the next one... You only live once so just enjoy life and don't get bogged down with superficial stuff... If your happy and healthy thats all you need!!! | |
