| KNORR RULES OK! Posted: 7/28/2007 2:14:08 AM | If you want a good all purpose seasoning such as Knorr....but it's NOT Knorr b/c Knorr SUCKS! ;) Try Cavenders Greek Seasoning. I use it on all kinds of meats. Including poultry and fish. It's awesome! And since i'm allergic to MSG....it's MSG free!! :D It's made in good ol' Arkansas and I think the blue container of it is specifically for poultry, dont quote meon that but pretty sure.
It's good on Tilapia as well.

Try Cavenders Greek Seasoning
Cavender's is the duck's nuts! Never have I found a more versatile seasoning for grilling tasty animals...
but tilapia? I find it difficult to look at that vile fish, much less bring myself to consume it.

| What adds flavor to Chicken & Rice? Posted: 7/28/2007 8:36:10 PM | hmm, try this one:
in a skillet, brown 2 chicken breasts, toss in a finely chopped clove of garlic, maybe some chopped onion (to personal taste), pour on some of your favorite BBQ sauce, and a lunchbox sized can of pinapples. Sometimes I'll add some chopped green pepper. mix that around while your rice is cooking in a separate pot, or rice cooker, then serve on top.
but most important, according to my grandmother, turn on some of your favorite music and dance with your food. For some reason it always makes it taste better. Buddy Holly and Elvis made my gramma an amazing cook for her hords of lil kidz, and our packs of friends. lol

you were right to cook the rice in a broth, veggie broth works well also

| What adds flavor to Chicken & Rice? Posted: 7/29/2007 6:02:39 PM | I make this super awesome veggie fried rice.
4 cups cooked rice 1-2 cloves garlic, diced very finley. 1 diced onion 1 cup chopped carrot 1 cup chopped celery 1 tbsp oil (I use olive oil, but most vegetable oils would probably work() 1/4 cup soy sauce 1 tbsp honey Salt and pepper (few dashes of each)
Put veggies, oil, garlic, salt and pepper in a large skillet and cook on medium/high heat until tender. Add all other ingredients, stir very well and cook until warm through out.
I usually cook the rice while I'm chopping the veggies up so the rice doesn't ever get cold, this way you don't have to cook it as long.
It's really yummy with honey garlic chicken wings, or you can barbeque boneless skinless chicken breasts, chop into bite size pieces and add them. In the winter I'll chop up boneless skinless chicken, cook it in a wee bit of olive oil with poultry seasoning and montreal chicken spice then mix it all together once the rice and chicken is all cooked.

| What adds flavor to Chicken & Rice? Posted: 8/6/2007 9:06:14 AM | I love a good stir fry. My newest spicing for this is to add a tsp of sugar and 1/4 tsp hot red pepper flakes and maybe a few tsp of sesame oil and use lots of onions/garlic. Try marinading the chicken in a bit of soy/sesame oit/red pepper flakes/garlic first.
Also, for basics, good herbs for chicken are rosemary or thyme.

Posted: 5/13/2008 1:37:18 PM | Add tumeric, and/or cumin, garlic and onion powder, parsley, hint of mint, paprika, cook in Chicken broth (Vigo company in Tampa has a delicious powder base - lots of restaurants use it) and at end add a 1/2 teas lemon or forget the lemon and cut up and add a can of artichoke hearts and add 1/2 cup of heavy cream and 1/2 cup champagne. (some use coconut milk instead of heavy cream) l add a little white pepper also.....but NO salt...plenty is in it already. Danie Huizenga

| What adds flavor to Chicken & Rice? Posted: 5/13/2008 2:47:46 PM | | The can of soup idea is great. If you really want to spice it up, do it fajita style. Heat up a sauce pan with butter and crushed garlic. Then add red, yellow and green peppers. Saute' them until tender. Bake your chicken regularly and add to pepper mix. U can even add mushroom in the sauce pan. I hope it helps. | |
