I have to say Pedro, I think I understand what you are trying to say. But, I disagree with some of it. I think you are overly critical of Northern Americans and their games and their rivalries. Some of this is a language problem, whether you mean to or not some of your comments sound very, very dismissive and arrogant toward people and sports from the US. Having said that, I think perhaps, you overtated the case against rivalry in European soccer Steve...but I think we've more or less agreed now. There are differences...question as to which is better, down to individuals... | |

i never said that European rivalries are better! if we think of supporters getting on well one another, then north american rivalries are better, you know, rivals from both sides can eat hot dogs or chips during the game, and can have a beer outside the stadium, so yes! north american rivalries are better and safer
what i say is that European rivalries are stronger, deeper, worse, more dangerous, etc because of political, ethnic or religious issues. therefore, we Europeans show more passion/love towards our clubs than any other. and we loathe/detest our rival more than any other. SURE!
