Vick had better hope that the judge isn't a dog owner! The pressure from outside the NFL is going to be enormous, the chants of "who let the dogs out is going to echo around the stadiums at away games for sure, think not,see ***Barry Bonds. The trial will not even begin until next spring so he'll start but not finish the season due to poor performance which I believe will be his last. He will go to jail and his career will be ended by this....

Hey man you didn't know who the falcons back up was and your wrong about Jamal lewis as well..he was convicted for conspiracy to distribute, not distribution,HUGE difference. It happened at the end of his college career not while he was in the NFL via a wiretap on a cell phone....oh and NO drugs changed hands due to it.He did his time, more then Tank,Pacman or alot of other thugs. with gun violations.Just for the record,I am not a Jamal Lewis fan,but facts are facts...do the crime do the time

If Vick is guilty of this and the NFL lets him back in , it will be almost as disgusting as back in 1972 , when the olympics went on after the whole Israeli team was murdered by Palestineans. I would like Mr. Vick just go away with Barry Bonds .Mr. Vick is a crappy QB anyway.

Animal rights activists, who had been pushing since April to send the Michael Vick dogfighting case before the federal government, say Tuesday's indictment was a coup.

"It's clear from the court filings that this was an interstate network of dogfighters that went up and down the East Coast," said John Goodwin, manager of animal fighting issues for the Humane Society of the United States. "That's why it was appropriate and necessary for the federal government to investigate it."

Dogfighting critics say the blood sport is pervasive among professional athletes, especially in the NFL. Goodwin said he hopes the indictment will be enough for the NFL commissioner to discipline Vick, and for corporate sponsors like Nike to remove their endorsements.

Several NFL players have been charged with dogfighting in recent years, but none with Vick's celebrity.

Looks like other NFL players have interests in dog fighting also.
I cant see Vick being able to ever play football again, he will have animal rights activists and fans protesting at every game .

I have Jewish background myself so of course I am not equating that . I am simply saying that money seems to be the underlying factor sad to say whether its 1972 Munich or 2007 NFL . If what Vick did to those dogs is true the guy should not be allowed to play ever again . That would make him a real sick F___ . I think hes a piece of crap already and not even talented. If this plays out badly for Vick ... DONT LET THE DOOR KICK YOU IN THE BUTT, and take a consolation price like your brother.

Goodell already is leaning towards sitting Vick for a huge chunk of time as sort of a "time-out" since a trial wouldn't happen till after the next season anyway. Vick could plead guilty and obviously would be suspended from the NFL for the year probably.

Luckily the Falcons still have Schaub who could be a starter on another team so they should be fine.

Wow, you were wrong on all accounts.

Michael Vick should receive the exact same treatment that any citizen in this country would receive if involved in running a dog fight ring etc... I do believe he should receive due process and not be condemned until all the evidence is brought forward. The press is not going to help this situation. There are already many conflicting stories as to who was involved and to what extent. His status as an NFL player etc. should have nothing to do with how this is handled by law officials.

Unfortunately, that being said, we know that there are huge discrepencies between cases involving the rich and famous and the normal people of this country are handled. And in my opinion, the most disturbing thing about all of this is the level of violence, cruelty and blatant disregard for another living thing that is alleged.

If circumstances prove Vick was involved, he should be punished as any other citizen would be...NFL player or not. I will be watching closely to see how the NFL bigwigs and team owner handle this. I am a huge football fan and hope not to be let down again by a decision that supports profit and ignores responsibility.

I'm all for the new training camp introduction to those indicted on federal charges:

They string you up by your legs and bash your skull into a concrete floor, bludgeoning you repeatedly til you're dead....

Just like Vick ordered his dogs to be destroyed.....

This story sickens me to my core.... "BIG MAN" ordering the insane cruelty to animals that have no freedom of choice or decisions. His nightmares should be filled with things like that happening to his children!!

*horrible to say... but it's a vision I want in his head for the rest of his life.... while he's sleeping with one eye open to save his sorry ass... literally!

Ok I think I may have gotten one fact wrong. About the length of investigation. But I think it is his dogfighting biz that was 7 years in operation. They have four witnesses that put him at the dogfights, one of whom was chastized for calling out his name at one of the events. For Vick to say he had no idea what was going on, yet you see the amount of dogs, equipment, and apparently there was blood all over the place, how can he think anyone would buy his ''i didn't know'' BS. Apparently they had tshirts and hats with the businesses name on them. There are usually a lot of drugs going through these types of businesses to.

Kudos to Nike for pulling the plug on these shoes. They are going to lose money, but they've definitely got more balls than the NFL has shown. There are a lot of famous atheletes and stars in general who think they are above the law and the sad thing is many times they are. Hopefully this will not be tolerated.

No one has neglected to mention, so maybe I should. All the dogs removed from those kennels will mostly surely have to be put down. They will be deemed un adoptable and euthanized. Meaning he will inadvertantly be responsible for even more animal deaths.

Why is it that guys who seem to have everything that life has to offer would go and do something as stupid as this?

Cruelty to animals aside - doesn't this man realize the jeopardy he has put himself into? And the treatment of poor defenseless animals will certainly not sit well with many humans OR jurors.

Salutations to NIKE for pulling their plug on one of his endorsements. Remember when someone pulled their endorsement of Dennis Rodman a few years ago. Sometimes the only thing that these guys respond to is the usurping of the old purse strings.

Your right bubba, i cant understand also why a football player who is going to make
$130 million over 10 years with a $37 million signing bonus cant find a way to entertain himself without doing something stupid.

It looks like Vick will be able to play football for now due to contract obligations.

They have to be able to "hurt" these guys where it means the most to them.

You don't just fine him, you FIRE him. You take away ALL his endorsements.
You make it near impossible for him to ever make "an honest dollar" ever again!!!

Put him into an environment that mirrors the treatment his own dogs received.

He has to suffer the same pain and lack of freedom of choice that his dogs did.

GIVE HIM WHAT HE GAVE TO THOSE POOR ANIMALS.... and make sure all his cronies suffer the same.

There's an email going around to the NFL, asking for him to be suspended.... Change it to FIRED when you receive it and send it to everyone you know that cares enuf to make a change!!!

In New York on Friday, more than 50 protesters joined with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals outside NFL headquarters demanding Vick's suspension.

PETA has sent a letter to Vick's team, the Atlanta Falcons, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and Vick's corporate sponsors condemning dogfighting. The PETA letter is supported by civil rights leader the Rev. Al Sharpton and hip-hop businessman Russell Simmons.

Sharpton has already been on a lot of talk shows about this.

I agree with Bubba as well. I'm fed up with these athletes continuously playing by their own set of rules. Click on NFL dot com and look to the upper right set of headlines on any given day. This one faces gun charges, another one on drug charges, now dog cruelty. Used to be you'd read about injuries and how long they'd be out. Now it's always steroid charges and who's getting the latest 4 day suspension. Ban these @ssholes from the sportsworld altogether and clean it all up.

The NBA to me is a disgrace. The NFL is quick approaching the same level. How and why fans can keep putting up with this crap is beyond me. Whether he's guilty or not is ignorant of the fact that this guy's not even a good quarterback contrary to his high opinion of himself. I doubt he's even popular in the Atlanta area after giving the money-paying fans the finger last year. This guy's a complete stiff and it's high time the sportsworld said we're not putting up with felons diguised as athletes.

Michael Vick was given a gift of incredible athletic ability by God.

He must not have shown up when God gave out intelligence and kindness.

God will give Vick what he deserves.

And so will society.

it's ironic that nike is taking the wait and see approach. what? have they laid off the entire staff at their korean sweatshop?

unfortunately, as we saw with O.J., there will be some technicality, some crap like "if the dog collar don't fit you must acquit..." and he'll be free and won't suffer incarceration as a result.

he'll end up on the toronto argonauts of the CFL, where after a short time he'll retire and write a book and create DFC (dog fighting championship) and spike tv will carry all their events.

"I think you're way off. The only touchdowns he'll ever experience again will be in a prison shower."

"And it won't be playing the QB position, he'll be playing the tight end."

WRONG... wide reciever. He will have a huge smile on his face.

Michael had the world by the azz and now the world has him by the azz!! I WAS a M. Vick fan since I live 0nly an hour from Virginia Tech. Some of the most exciting games that I have ever seen were with him scrambling for touchdowns. I think that he is done. He will not be welcome anywhere in this country but the low-life slum holes and dog fighters clubs. If he goes to jail he will move to offensive center position with someone else between his legs , his hands on balls and some big Daddy calling out signals!!
