All 5 of my dogs are very sweet in temperment, but they bark, and that is enough to keep the door-to-door mendicants, politicians and salespersons off of my property!

Skoochie, I believe the word LOVE is the reason he doesn't comprehend what a lot of us are saying. I agree love is the reason.
According to his theory, if a person is robbed, and assaulted in another city, it hasn't effected your survival, therefore it does not matter. Most of us that have compassion and empathy know it is wrong and that it matters. Thank goodness!!!

Pete that is too funny. I have a Lab/St. Bernard mix. LOL he's a big dog, with a heart of gold. His bark is much bigger than his bite (actually he doesn't have a bite), So when they come knocking on my door, I open the door part way...and say just hand me the paper...I don't know if I can hold him back for long.... they do and practically run away... mean while he is wagging his tail while barking....he really just wants them to pet him and to slobber all over them. | |

They are your pets though, which is different from the Vick situation.
Which is another thing that people fail to understand.
Hunters, farmers, racers for the most part have dogs not as pets but for practical or sporting purposes.
If those dogs that they own do not preform to the standard that they require or desire the majority of those animals are destroyed.
Some will be destroyed in a way some may consider humane and some will not, but the fact remains that have no interest in keeping the animals around as they are just a liability and not a pet.

So where is your argument against that theory?
There are ~1200 robberies each day in the US.
So for the 120o happened today how where you personally affected by them?

Dog fighting is good for business Vick is well on his way to having a healthy bankroll again and if anything hes a bigger star post dog fighting than he was as the scrambling threat of the Atlanta Falcons. If anything we should all take a swing at illegal operations and reform ourselves publically... The economy would be booming if everyone got publicity like this | |

I would disagree, read the indictment, he traveled all over to participate in the dog fights, purchased 54 dogs. He bred and trained dogs for fighting

Broncs I do understand what you are saying. I think it is the responsibility of the NFL (aka Goodell) to NOT allow him employment.
The reason I point out how heinous Vic's crime is to justify WHY I don't think the NFL should allow him to play again. Like I said it's not that he committed a crime, I believe in second chances most of the time. It's the TYPE of crime. I think the NFL should hold "higher" standards.
There should be a line in which the NFL say's some crimes, due to the heinous nature, are crimes in which a player should no longer be allowed to play anymore. | |

Yet people are so mad at Vick who spent 2 years in a federal prison.
That piece of trash Lawrence Phillips dragged his girlfriend down 4 flights of stairs by her hair, yet was given a job also....

James, I do know that most, if not all, breeders have no qualms about drowning any pup that is deformed from birth. Personally, I am appalled by that, but I know it happens regularly without any negative consequences to the breeder. | |

The team on Monday unveiled a program called TAWK, which stands for Treating Animals With Kindness. The initiative aims to reduce animal abuse, encourage spaying and neutering, and end dogfighting through public education and awareness.
The Eagles awarded grants of $50,000 each to Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society, the Humane Society of Berks County and the Humane Society of the United States.
Team spokeswoman Pamela Browner-Crawley says Vick is working with children to discourage them from dogfighting.
It certainly comes as no surprise to me that the Humane Society was going to be paid off for supporting Vick's return to the NFL!!! After all, it's all about the Benjamins!!! | |

I can tell by the way my dogs don't run away from home that they are very interested in our arrangement. I have five acres with many holes in the fences for them to run away, if they didn't like our arrangement. | |
