Hang him up by his balls!.....footballs, that is.
And please let's not turn this topics attention on PETA. They do some great work for animals, and some not so great things. I'm more of an A.S.P.C.A./Humane Society person myself, but the topic here is Michael Vick and his actions. And I think "bullielover" has a great point...sign SOMEONES petition, it doesn't have to be PETA's. Write your own letters. Animals have no voice of their own, they depend on people who are different from the "Vick's" of the world to speak for them, by signing petitions and writing letters, whatever can be done on your part. Noone can save every animal, but everyone should should help in saving those they can. Maybe with enough people writing in, all the money Vick has, and all the powerful attorneys he has by his side, won't help him. The rights animals have today didn't get there by accident. It got there by people who care enough to get involved...and believe me, EVERY little letter counts, everyones opinions count. If your reading these posts, and more so, if you've cared enough about these poor dogs to make your own post on this forum, if you've taken that few minutes out of your schedule, take out a few more and write to those people in positions of power over this situation. In the end it will be up to a judge, jury, and the NFL what will become of Michael Vick. But I for one will feel much better knowing, regaurdless of the outcome, that I got involved.

Embattled Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has retained prominent trial attorney Billy Martin. Martin is a former federal prosecutor and senior official at the Department of Justice and has been in private practice since 1990.
Martin recently represented former Atlanta mayor Bill Campbell is his public corruption trial that was brought by the federal government.
Other high-profile professional athlete clients have included former NBA players Jayson Williams and Rod Strickland, current NBA stars Allen Iverson and Juwan Howard and boxer Riddick Bowe.
Martin also represented Monica Lewinsky and her mother, along with the parents of the late congressional intern Chandra Levy.

Looks like Vick went out and spent a lot of money to get a top notch lawyer.
We will see if it pays off.

I think that they should allow Michael Vick to play football. And if he loses a game they need to institute the same exact treatment of him as he allowed to be perpetrated on the dogs. He should be hanged, beaten, and electrocuted if he loses a football game. Only then would he ever understand the kind of miserably cruel and illegal industry where he has chosen to become involved.

LOL I like that idea, Mike!! Good call!
I wouldn't pay to see a dog fight, but knowing what Vick did to those dogs, yeah, I'd pay to see Vick beaten. I'll bring the popcorn!

NIKE DROPS VICK!!!!

And Reebok, though not an official sponsor has also jumped on the bandwagon and will not use him for any endorsements in the future.

Petitions and voicing your opinion outside a private forum WORKS!

Now let's see what the NFL does to him. Keeping him away from training and giving him a 4 game suspension won't fly with the general public.

Let US figure out what to do with him....

Back to the days when they strung you up in the town square!!!

WAY TO GO NIKE!!! and Reebok!!!

It's a small step, but a step in the right direction.

i think that the vick charges have been a blessing in disguise for nike or other potential sponsors. the guy has made some spectacular plays throughout his career but has never really put it all together. i'll stop short of calling him a bust but he has never lived up to the hype. now comes this scandal and nike says we're gonna cut ties. i don't think any letters or protests had any real impact on this decision. nike probably jumped for joy and said lets find a better image. and there are quite a few of them to choose from. troy polamalu perhaps? and i just use him as an example i'm sure evry team (except the bengals lol) has a "good guy" with the kind of image nike or other companies want.

While I don't endorse what Vick allegedly has done, I'm sick of the animal rights activists going apeshit when there are so many humans who need help. What's the difference between a groundhog or a rat you kill in your yard and a dog? Because it can fetch? Let's stand up for all animals, not just the cute ones or the ones that do cute tricks or you can dress up.

Whole 9 Yards: actually, I am a vegan. So I WOULD stand up for a groundhog or a rat...in fact, I have three pet rats whom I adore with all my heart. And none of my ratts would fetch, but I love em all the same. And obviously you DO endorce what Vick has done, because what he has done is say that dogs have no feelings, no rights, no ability to feel pain and shouldn't be stood up for. That they are disposable. But humans are. Isn't that the same exact thing your saying? I think so. Gosh, I hope you don't and won't own any pets.

The mobs calling for his life and castration are outrageous, he has not been convicted yet!!I do believe the evidence, thus far, is despicable!! HOW CAN HE NOT KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING ON HIS OWN PROPERTY?? If he is found guilty, he should be punished to the fullest extent of the law!! However, this is not a capital murder case punishable by death..they are even calling for his castration ...he has not been accused of rape!! Locally , near Buffalo, N.Y(see the"off topic" thread) a two year old toddler was allegedly sodomized by a pit bull in Lockport, a town near Niagara Falls, N.Y. The details of what really happened, hopefully, will come out. I happen not to be a dog lover but I realize they are God's creatures and I wish no harm to our canines.

There is outrage on one of the local news message boards over the Michael Vick scenario. What baffles me is the huge amount of outrage on this local board over
dogs ___while a child is recovering from reconstructive surgery and will be hospialized for weeks to come. I also cannot understand why there isn't the same local outrage expressed on this board at the apparent abuse of an innocent child.

To Blady and Nine Yards,

I would think that EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING needs a champion.

We're not just humans running around this earth. We're surrounded by God's beauty and it's our RESPONSIBILITY to care for it ALL!

So I'm sorry if you don't understand that everything deserves a voice, but I'm so grateful for those of us that are bellowing loud and clear to end cruelty on all levels.

Vick is lower than any life source and should be treated as such.

End of story.

Wrong......take a class in Marketing 101.....Customer response is very important.

I'm sick of the animal rights activists going apeshit when there are so many humans who need help.

Animal activists are the voice for all animals. Humans have organizations that speak out and help them ....you know that.

Let's stand up for all animals, not just the cute ones .

Peta and other organizations do stand up for all animals. A lot of people own a dog compared to a rat, obviously your going to get a big response.

I also cannot understand why there isn't the same local outrage expressed on this board at the apparent abuse of an innocent child.

This thread is NOT about dog attacks on humans.Read the forum rules...that is off topic for this thread, which can result in suspensions. A seperate thread is needed for that topic.

I previously started a thread under "off topics>Pit Bull Rapes a Two Year Old Boy.
Please check it out.
I mentioned the news about the boy for comparison purposes only----- not to get "off topic".

let me say again, If vick is found guilty, he should be punished to the full extent of the law, not only for what he did, but for just being a plain moron, mulitimillion dollar athlete, and he is making money off dog fighting?...he is an idiot.....moving on...

I dont support peta...never have and never will, its the most hypocritacal organization i know of, supports animals, but yet will burn down buildings and hurt other people in the process...but thats for another topic in itself....

I will tell you that im an animal lover, but i will also tell you that i will eat the crap out of some bacon, chicken, and some steak. so should I get mad at colornel sanders for slaughtering millions of chickens a day?

i will say this though, vick should go to jail not because im an animal lover, but because he is a fricking moron......

i know its off topic but it does address the vick detractors of which i am one. peta is suspected in a recent fire and slaughter of 2500 mink at a farm not far from me. hypocritical is an understatement. and soon peta may be out of their element if and when the illegal weapons and drugs, that almost always are involved with dogfighting, are brought into the picture.

Once again people...PETA is NOT...repeat NOT...under in the hot seat with this topic...it's Vick....so let's our fingers pointed at him and stop getting off topic.
blady...you seem to have alot of critisism pointed at pit bulls. How PREJUDICE of you to assume ALL pits are human flesh craving beasts who should be wiped out of existence. Remember...it's humans like Vick who made SOME of them fighters. If someone did to you, what Vick did to these dogs, I am sure you would have some aggression in you as well. Also, blady....your runnning off at the mouth saying this wasn't a rape, murder, or some awful crime, may I point out to you that a person who has it within themselves to abuse an animal is more than likely capable of seriously abusing a child, or another person. Cruelty is cruelty. And as it was pointed out in someone elses post...dog fighting is accompanied by other crimes including drugs, gambeling, and gang crimes, all of which are very often linked to murders. Go post your concerns about the toddler on that site, because this forum is for Michael Vick and his sick treatment of mans best friend. I'll also say this: I am sure the numbers of dog/animal abusers FAR outweigh the number of toddlers who are "sodemized" by pits/other dogs.
I am almost as outraged and insenced at some of these posts as I am with Michael Vick and his actions. Who said humans were superior, that we run this world and are incapable of sharing it justly with the creatures who also live here? We as humans had better start waking up about these things and hold people accountable for their actions.
And just for the record...I stand behind what I have said in my earlier posts....whether SOME people like it or not.....AN EYE FOR AN EYE....VICK SHOULD GO DOWN!

The sad part of the story is that Vick will not get even a portion of what he deserves because we are not "An Eye For An Eye country." However, now because people are aware of this cruel sport the whole country is learning more about it. Finally the public will learn that this event takes place IN YOUR CITY, IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD, EVERY SINGLE DAY. It is real, & if your not outraged your not paying attention!!! Pitbulls are often mislabeled as a violent breed but they are the most abused & mistreated dogs in this country. Hopefully now the real picture will come into focus. As a society we need to come together to protect these dogs from the criminal element that seeks to exploit and abuse them.

Marandariane; please read my post more carefully and point out where I show predjudice towards ALL pit bulls.

This is an excerpt from my post:

>>>The mobs calling for his life and castration are outrageous, he has not been convicted yet!!I do believe the evidence, thus far, is despicable!! HOW CAN HE NOT KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING ON HIS OWN PROPERTY?? If he is found guilty, he should be punished to the fullest extent of the law!!I happen not to be a dog lover but I realize they are God's creatures and I wish no harm to our canines.<<<<

I do not condone Micheal Vicks allegedactions; also I do not condone THIS pit bull's alleged actions. The dog's DNA test will solve this mystery one way or the other. Please see my above post concerning my thread on this pit bull attack.
