| Going Bald? Posted: 7/19/2007 1:28:23 PM | | i'm not going bald but going grey and i find it easier to keep it all shaved off | |
|
| Going Bald? Posted: 7/19/2007 1:31:24 PM | i used to have long hair when i was younger and it gradually receded from the forehead backwards and then was thinning quite badly at the back. I decided to get rid completely and go for the shaved look.
If someone invented a cure for male pattern baldness today i'd happily have all my hair back and go back to having long hair again, but since they haven't i'll stick with the shaved head look - saves on going to the barbers if nothing else.

| Going Bald? Posted: 7/19/2007 1:40:15 PM | I was born with a receding hairline, and my forehead just keeps on getting bigger :)
I'm resigned to the fact that once I start to get a shiny island on top it's going to be buzz number 0 time.

| Going Bald? Posted: 7/20/2007 3:41:13 AM | Indeed, I suspect the "older ladies" are extremely unlikely to decline the gentlemanly advances of the ole Scottish smoothie Sean Connery
Perspicacious ladies will already be more than pleasingly aware of the perspiration produced on the female head by an aerodynamically and ergonomically 'beneficial' zero cropped, shaven and smooth male head.
Testosterone innit....designed to glide

Some of the "younger" ladies wouldn't kick him outta bed for making crumbs either!
Better to shave/clipper it off than do the comb over thing.........bleurgh

| Going Bald? Posted: 7/20/2007 4:19:07 AM | i dont have a problem with baldness at the present, rather the opposite, i have gorgeous long flowing locks which dont have any sign of getting thinner...what do you ladies feel about this kind of style on an older man?.
I am 38 and have had long hair and a beard since my teenage years. I was an angry kid kicking out and needed something to make me different from the crowd. i can openly admit that it was my lack of self esteem which made me do this as i thought i was being cool. do you think that long hair in a teenager style (what my mum says) is acceptable when one reaches an age that is supposed to show stability and maturity?
i would really like to hear your comments ladies on long haired men. i seem to be finding that its affecting my life and potential as a future partner.

| Going Bald? Posted: 7/20/2007 6:59:23 AM | I like being bald, and most ladies I knwo find it sexy.
Nicked my bro's rock wig the other day and kind of liked it, but I could take it off when bored lol.
SO theres the answer for any woman out there who doesn't appreciate a sexy bald man, get them some wigs for the bedroom if it bothers u

| Going Bald? Posted: 7/20/2007 10:06:15 AM | I don't worry about hair loss, i'll just shave my cats and stick it on my head if i go bald.
I've got an uncle who is going bald, but what a twat he looks, he does the comb over.

| Going Bald? Posted: 7/20/2007 12:27:14 PM | been going bald for years, so usually shave as close to possible with trimmer, sometimes shave it totally but get the odd dweeb on site who gets upset and a close no1 seems ok :)
have to laugh when see the guys who comb over the hair to hide their bald spot as usually taller than them :)
|
| Going Bald? Posted: 7/20/2007 1:10:18 PM | | Chaps who 'do the comb-over' and slap a piece of Shredded Wheat on their head should be issued with on the (bald) spot fixed penalty notices for bringing masculinity into disrepute! | |

| Going Bald? Posted: 7/20/2007 6:15:18 PM | Lose the long hair ~muffmonkey~. It is out of style, and looks ridiculous on an older than 20 year old man. I find it to be a huge turn off, and always makes wonder if he may be a little TOO in touch with his feminine side. Just my opinion | |

| Going Bald? Posted: 7/22/2007 3:09:43 PM | Well i have been bald for the last 10 yrs due to alopecia. It doesn't change who I AM..
It's only other people who seem bothered by the way i look. I see the way people look at me when i walk down the street.
BUT IT'S THEIR PROBLEM NOT MINE!!!!!!!!!

| Going Bald? Posted: 7/22/2007 6:33:30 PM | I'm debating the whole bald look.
On the one hand, I've get a receding hairline at the front, and a bald patch on top. So I'm thinking of going bald. Plus, so many women seem to find it sexy.
On the other hand, you only see it from the back, and I keep my hair short and trimmed. I'm just not used to it, and when I went to the hairdresser the other day, she said two things: 1) Because my hair is naturally curly (I had an Afro at 18, and I'm white), it won't be good for my hair to be shaved. 2) Once I go shaved, I have to keep it shaved. Also, my hair grows really quickly when it is short. The shorter it is, the quicker it grows. So I'm not sure how long I can leave it till I go bald.
I'm just pontificating the pros and cons.

| Going Bald? Posted: 7/23/2007 1:44:33 AM | Interesting. I did worry about how I would be perceived by other people at first. It was a bit of a shock when it happened, aged 32, due to treatment for cancer. I was told it would fall out, & may, or may not, grow back. Well it didnt, but it really doesnt bother me at all, & it must better to shave the wispy bits left than to try for any sort of comb over!!! I am not sure how I would have felt had it occured naturally, but either way it sure is nothing to be worried about!! | |

| Going Bald? Posted: 7/23/2007 2:02:43 AM | I once upon a time pitied bald men...no longer! | |

| Going Bald? Posted: 9/20/2007 3:49:56 PM | | Personally guys with combovers get me all hot and bothered | |
|
| Going Bald? Posted: 9/20/2007 6:12:27 PM | If it happens it happens, not much to do about it really apart from wear a rug (no thank you!)! I have always prefered my hair short anyway and usualy more than not I shave it off so que sera! | |
|
| Going Bald? Posted: 9/20/2007 9:53:21 PM | I went bald at 24, I am 34 now, but doesn't bother me, in fact i prefer it as its easier to maintain lol | |
|
| Going Bald? Posted: 9/20/2007 11:35:31 PM | Not worried about hair loss since pony tail divided into 2 tails due to bald patch and shaved the hair off
The measures I take to deal with hair loss is to shave the head 3-4 times per month :)
not worried about the genetics, being tall see lots of guys with the wrap over hairstyle and it looks so naff, especially when caught in the wind :)
got a wig for acting, would not consider wearing it any other times, but guess people do it

| Going Bald? Posted: 9/21/2007 2:54:51 AM | Ive been losing it (in both senses of the word probably ) since i was 18 , im now 29 and after the 1st 12 months or so i came to terms with it and ever since have just given myself a number 0 buzz cut once a week, everyone says that they couldnt imagine me with my hair (or lack of it) any different now and it really suits me.
1 tip ive found though is to buy some tinted moisturiser and apply daily to the bonce after youre shower, it gets rid of that pasty white scalp look and gives you a smooth and tanned look all year round. also keep it the same length by shaving it once a week religiously.
i still have never tried hand razoring it eg: with a mch 3, so would be interested to hear from any guys who do this and any tips they have on doing it to avoid head rash .
