The Harry Potter series--new movie, last book

I pre-ordered the book - had it Saturday morning (21st) - of course, finished reading it already. I loved it, but too was saddened by the realization that I had just finished the *last* Harry Potter book. GREAT ending though... :)

As for the spoilers - never affected me because I refused to pay any attention to them - I didn't want to know!

The controversy? Please, fundies are nutbags (and not the good kind) and anything that encourages education and free thinking is "satanistic" to them and they will ALWAYS seek to ban knowledge. I encourage my kids to investigate and educate themselves on everything that interests them - ESPECIALLY if the right-wing, super fundie nutjobs are against it... ;)

I love the movies, but definitely got into them due to the books... I can't wait til the 7th film is out on DVD, so I can buy the box set. *grin*

I love all the books and movies. I watched the first 2 movies and then bought the books. I really enjoy how they stay very close to following the books with the movies. Nothing is worse than having the movie so different than the book.

The last movie #5 was really good. I loved the fight scene.

Read the last book in one sitting. Not a good idea as I gave myself a headache. I loved it and how she brought everything together. I am sad that so many good characters got killed off. I really enjoyed the ending. What an awesome imagination she has.

I will miss there not being any more books though. Maybe she will write some books about their children

Was really disappointed in the last movie. It glossed over waaay too many things to make it understandable if you hadn't read the book. Got tired of the spinning news papers as fill ins, and all the "black smoke" effects,... started to feel like I was watching LOST.
The book was great! Was surprised at the only character that died that made me cry!

The ending didn't surprise me at all and all along I thought that about a "certain" character. Loved the comment on the last page about that character too.

You might want to check out the Wizard Academies series of books. I can't post the weblink here, but you should be able to find it on Google if you're interested. Search for "Wizard Academies Fan Website" ...
