Momentum in space is achieved by orbiting the planet being exited and building momentum from the gravitational pull of that planet, and then taking a trajectory towards the moon. The space shuttle orbits the earth at about 18,000 MPH. As stated before, momentum is endless in space unless you run into something. | |

*sigh* do you think satelites have rockets constantly firing to keep them in orbit? You do know what actually slows you down right? It's called FRICTION. Tell me, what do you rub against in space to cause friction?
So they just 'threw' themselves in the direction of the moon.. never slowing, the course was clear, no debris of any type to slow down for, dodge or go around.. forget the fuel it took to get to where "go FOREVER until it hits something." And the fuel to control the craft coming back.
Why do you think it's called "space?" It's pretty freaking empty. Also ever hear of "gravity" they looped around the moon Hoop.

I have some questions.
1) What kind of fuel was used for the craft to get to the moon.
2) How many miles was it. there and back.
3) What kind of mileage did that thing need to get for the round trip.
4) What was that craft's fuel capacity.
are you looking into getting a space craft if it has high fuel efficiency? lol

I already answered your question.
The answer of how many miles to the galon once you're out in space is->as many as you would like. You burn fuel to go faster, not further.
No friction to slow you down.
I think I'll do some research to see if there is any relation.. blood or otherwise.. between the moon landing camera folk, and Evan Fairbanks.

Some of them can be so fanatical in their beliefs that they begin to resemble someome with paranoid schizophrenia. I can imaine that the delusions suffered by schizophrenics first started manifesting itself: with the persistant belief in nonsensical claims and in conspiracy theories.

Those who hold dear to so many truths offered up by those who live to gain at the expense of others are likely the best to offer support and service to those non-conspiracy theorists. They get a nice dose of TV and puppet peons telling you what to think. But I don't beleive we landed men on the moon. Sure maybe we put some probes down. But land men on the moon and take off again. Not a chance
It was far cheaper to fake the moon landings and they knew they had to fake them.
Of course alot of other things were "faked" and "falsified" too.....like the whole 9-11-2001 attack on NY and the Pentagon. The 9-11 OMISSION report was full of lies and deception but most americans beleive the Governement on this one because to not beleive would shake there very image of the US Government. | |

Forget the miraculous technological leap neccessary to reach the moon, this entire hoax theory alone is one hell of an achievement !!!!! Pulling it off would indeed be the greatest hoax in history. | |

Well the fake moonlanding was a good hoax for it's time.
The Osama Bin Ladin and his 19 arab hijackers causing 9-11 probably has to be the next most successful hoax since then. Of course, it mainly fools americans and not nearly as many europeans (go figure).
We're on our road to political and worldwide depression and war because of our presidential and congressional warpigs and most americans think that muslims pulled 9-11 off by themselves.
It probably hasn't changed since the Apollo missions......They probably took the extra money budgeted for NASA and used it for the vietnam war instead of actually trying to send a man to the moon. WARPIGS again.

It's not that you're cynical or disbelieving. It's that those two personality traits are out of control and you are becoming obsessive. Get some help.
I agree that politicians and governments lie all the time. However, that doesn't make everything they say a lie. Sometimes they tell the truth. You have to develop an adequate mechanism to tell the difference rather than a blanket statement that you believe nothing they have to say.
You say you're a physicist and governments are the largest employers of physicists. So, if you get a job working for the government or funded by the government, you instantly become a liar? | |

Posted: 6/28/2008 3:44:04 PM | I'm not going to get into a flaming war with a bunch of people who worship man made "heroes".
The thread was about "did we land on the moon.?" And it was assumed we were talking about the so called "manned missions" to the moon and not sending probes.
So my clear opinion is no we did not. Is was a fabrication ( a hoax) , a studio production since Kenedy gave the "mandate for it" but it couldn't be done, they had to fake it....which they did. But the cracks in the story have been coming out for years now as with the 9-11 hoax.
And I worked at NASA for 11 years and I do have a bachelors degree in Physics from Old Dominion University in Virginia (USA not Mexico ). My GPA was 3.6 and I also got a minor in MathMatics.
Now before you say it....I wasn't a janitor at NASA. I worked on Earth Observation Laser Lidar systems. Mainly in the research and development of lasers. Which I still do now, just at a private company and not NASA.
As far as men going into outer space.......that has been done and is still being done. But weather or not they got beyond 500 miles from earths surface.....that is highly debateable....You should research the topic in more detail and look at the science and the anomolies in the Moon Hoax.
