^^^Hmn, ever seen what happens to a camera or camcorder when a room is too bright.....that's right OVEREXPOSURE.

Correct. Except the NASA cameras were not over exposed and no one said that.

I'm going to propose you test this experiment yourself. Take a camera with you, and go somewhere where there's no ambient lighting (outside of the city where it's dark and you can see many stars). Take some pictures of those stars.

Now, go back into the city into a relatively well lit area, and snap shots of lit up areas with views of the sky.

Guess what you're going to notice when you devolope those pictures? That's right...no stars in the sky. You yourself will have trouble seeing them in well lit areas, and your eyes are constantly absorbing light while the camera only does so for a second.

All you see is a blank space of light or dark....no images! Human error occurs with even the most experienced of organisations and where they thought they were being smart, they made mistakes and got caught out!.....Me, i'll never be convinced until we return or i see solid proof that we have been, so yeah....for once your right on! The reason i don't believe is BECAUSE tecnology was so basic then, not in spite of it!

Yes, and part of that 'basic' technology includes things like underexposure not revealing the stars because the camera only captures the well lit area. Just like the city experiment I suggested you try...I doubt you will though, because you want to believe your conspiracy theory instead. Even though I gave you the means and explanation to put your belief to the test.

But you're not after the truth, are you? If you are, perform the experiment as I outlined and come back when you learn you are wrong.

They're nothing more than squeaky wheels screaming for oil that have no intentions of asking to be repaired. Execellent test you proposed though. Up a ways I proposed the simple mathmatical test for the flag vibration, and wouldn't you know it, no response to the challenge to easily prove why the flag was moving using Newtons Laws.

In other words, you know we're right because you refuse to perform the experiments personally (and very easily) that we assert will show you wrong.

Like I said, you're not interested in the truth because myself and others have told you exactly how to test the the truth for yourself. The experiment I asked you to perform is one anyone with a little spare time and camera can do.

And you refuse to do so. You intentionally chose ignorance over knowledge, with others telling you exactly how to test and acquire that knowledge yourself.

And then you wonder why myself and others hold people like you in such contempt. You constantly claim you're after 'the truth', and yet when people like us offer to test that truth together, you refuse.

That makes you a liar and a hypocrite.

Claire may I ask you a question, is it possible you could do these simple tests proposed to you and others and have you come back with the result? If not could you explain just why you refuse to increase your knowledge? I am sure there are many readin this post as to why after much solid fact you can produce no fact just opinion. Please don't be offeneded, were just curious as to how people come to conclusions with no fact just hearsay and no facts can sway them.

Oh right, so i've got to get a camera...wait til dark.....travel outside the city....oh, by the way i don't have a car so.....gotta find someone to watch my 2 little ones......then get a lift.....THEN travel to outside the city......take some pictures.....come back to city....pick up kids.....then develop pictures next day.

Hmn, so simple.....i wonder why I never thought of that?!!!!!

Oh but wait....it STILL wouldn't explain why theirs no dust on the shuttle or scenery is same in two of the pictures, or shadows are all wrong, or no careter holes beneith the engine, or why we haven't been back, or why theres cross hairs in the pictures, or why the flag is moving (i know, i know, you already "explained" that! ).......

See when you put it like that.....why don't i just do it tomorrow, JUST to prove a point!!!.....Quite!

Hmmm... I see that this thread has gone nowhere in particular. Should I be surprised? What I find curious is that the supporters of the moon landings being true have remained loyal to the thread, while the various hoax supporters have wandered in and out in a rather flaky and aimless fashion. Again, hmmm...

But nothing prepared me for this level of understanding-- not even the quizes for pornstars on the Howard Stern Show:

^^^Funny that, because on the video footage it looks real dark and shadowy, like dawn. Sufficiently dark to see brightly lit stars that are like a few miles above....as aposed to thousands of miles above when standing on earth! If you can see the stars thousands of miles from earth then can you immagine just how bright they burn? Now imagine being only a few mile from those stars, i don't see how you could fail to see them!!!

Yeeeikes!! Cripes almighty! A few miles? Step away from the computer, ma'am! Get thee to an astronomy class ASAFP (even one that isn't part of the whole conspiracy). Failing that, at the very least watch "Dora the Explorer" if available.

The reason i don't believe is BECAUSE tecnology was so basic then, not in spite of it!

You should do a search on the SR-71 Blackbird. It's a product of the '60s, and no one claimed it was a hoax. But, of course, you won't look into it. Willful ignorance is one of the worst handicaps a person can have.

Is it curable?

^^^Okay, you got me on the one. The stars are considerably further away from the earth than the moon....my mistake!

Still, they would be brighter on the moon than from earth, and the sky would be clearer in space!

Shows like Conspiracy Theory ought to be as tongue-in-cheek as they sound. Unfortunately, there was an earnest feel to the Fox broadcast, enough to make you wonder if the program's makers might have fallen under their own spell.

According to the show NASA was a blundering movie producer thirty years ago. For example, Conspiracy Theory pundits pointed out a seeming discrepancy in Apollo imagery: Pictures of astronauts transmitted from the Moon don't include stars in the dark lunar sky -- an obvious production error! What happened? Did NASA film-makers forget to turn on the constellations?

Most photographers already know the answer: It's difficult to capture something very bright and something else very dim on the same piece of film -- typical emulsions don't have enough "dynamic range." Astronauts striding across the bright lunar soil in their sunlit spacesuits were literally dazzling. Setting a camera with the proper exposure for a glaring spacesuit would naturally render background stars too faint to see.

right from the NASA site link I posted in an earlier post.

Yes, especially if they took pictures of the American moon landing. The Chinese are in on it too!

Along with the russians.

Re - msg 146 & 147.

Go out during the day, and look for stars. Or better yet - go outside near a city. Can YOU see the stars, amid all that light?

All of the Apollo landings took place during the lunar day, so the sun overpowered all the stars.

I thought I'd read everything moronic on the web already, but then I see that at least someone believes that humans (or the moon, for that matter) can get within a few miles of stars without vaporizing and that Fox is apparently a credible venue for scientific inquiry.

But wait! I haven't "been there", in the case of stars and the moon, so I must be wrong!
Fox, however, I've visited; and I can assure you there is no intelligent life there.

and now for the first time ever[ drumroll] lucid, biting , physically fit

rocket science.....ever try to have a conversation over the 107+ decibels of a

rocket engine? Thats what the Apollonauts did as they "touched down on the

moon"--and they were speaking in the normal telephone tone--so theres one F-

for all you star trekkers. Ok, so we are on the moon now and the god-damned

engine generating 10,000 lbs. of thrust did not even leave a gopher hole on the

lunar soil--F minus again to all you techies. The 1st astronaut now leaves his
spaceship aka the 'Lem"...and behold!! He is able to move and frolic about in

the microwave enviroment and lethal gamma radiation[ no atmosphere on the

moon, students] of 350 degrees!!! Next question, How do you film these events

since digital film is future tense to 1969?? And since regular film begins to break

down at 140 degrees Fahrenheit, we have arrived at yet another F minus. Thats

one multi billion dollar fraud, one red hole for mankind.

And, um, they discovered an atmosphere on the Moon through which sound waves can travel? Oh wait! You already stated, " no atmosphere on the moon, students".

So which is it?

If the US government could have perpetrated such a perfect fraud of this magnitude, would they have gone back for Appollo's 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 and risked being found out? And in 38 years all the thousands and thousands who worked on the Appollo missions committing this conspiracy have kept quiet?

Come on folks. If that were possible we'd have found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq by now . . . . and perhaps a North Korean/Iran connection to 9/11.

I don't go to religious forums and expouse the virtues of science on the believing. Why? Because those forums are their's. Why don't conspiracy theorists have the same common sense of decency and create their own forums to discuss anything they want, and leave the science forums for those that wish to talk about science?

You're as bad as those WatchTower people that invade my world every Sunday morning with their evangelism. How would they feel if I showed up at their door every weekend with copies of "The Origin Of Species" or " A brief History Of Time" for them to read?

Get lives people and quit bothering people that don't want to hear or read a word you have to say. We don't "get it", we never will, and quite frankly, if you make a forum we will never come in and question your beliefs. You are far smarter than even the smartest of us, we accept that. Now you accept it too, and next time I log in, I want to see you all gone to a forum of likeminded superintelligent beings.

Amen.

Your claim of

We don't "get it", we never will, and quite frankly, if you make a forum we will never come in and question your beliefs.

is disingenuous, as here you are, flapping your lips.. you and a multitude of others, like-minded to you, documented over 7 pages.
No one asked or invited you to come in here to participate in this discussion.
Throughout many of the forums discussions I watch
We don't "get it", we never will

so why do you and your like come into these discussions to disrupt?

To let you know there is an appropriate forum for these discussions.

It's called Religion/Supernatural

I don't "get" you, and you don't "get" me.......but at least I am posting in the proper forum.

This is the 'Science/Philosophy' forum.
This thread was started under that forum heading, where it belongs.

An all too common misconception/tactic of those that believe they can skip the fundamentals of classical science and philosophy by just redefining for themselves what the words "science" and "philosophy" mean.

The easiest way to test whether or not there is any validity to what I've posted here for the past two days is to start your "Do you believe we landed on the moon?" thread in the proper forum, religion/supernatural, and see if anyone from the science/philosophy forum comes in to refute your beliefs. I for one couldn't care less what you discuss in there. I would never peek in to see, I leave you alone.

All I ask is that you extend me the same courtesy.
