ABSOLUTELY. You might be 50 years old & get dates w/women in 20's,
but if you ALSO relate to, appreciate, & genuinely love hot ladies thru their 50's,
and they "love" you too, you can do a lot worse. Ideally, it means you're an all-around
MAN, desirable & functional thru 3 generations. There are worse places to be.
You might not be stud-of-the-year for all in your path, but you're certainly a man for all seasons. And that isn't a bad thing at all. Right, girls/ladies?

Marketable? Uh . . . are women for sale now? I've always heard certain items are not marketable to the public, but women? - christi66

> I agree with christi.
> I am saddened, I mean absolutely saddened, that people can discuss such things - and that this kind of thinking exists.
> Marketable, eh? Just like a car or a TV or a laptop or a couch. Can it be 'sold' to the public, even if it happens to be a certain age? Is it worth anything to anyone? Any callers? Any bidders out there? Raise your hand for the auctioneer, nod or simply wave your programme. The men in the brown coats will appear, dust it down, and heave the spectacle out of sight in case anyone's sensibilities are offended.
> Marketable. Sheeesh. God help us all.

^^^We didn't invent it, yet it's a social marketplace. Buying/selling doesn't mean
exchange of currency. It DOES mean exchange of feelings, on various levels.

hell yeah!

i can't even tell you how much better i look, feel, sound, date, etc. than when i was 30. i'm turning 39 in a few days. my driver's license picture that i just got retaken looks younger than when i was 10 years ago.

yeah, i have a few lines here & there, but i call them happy lines. life is all better, much better now than it was the day i turned 30.

i have my own place, own car, just got a promotion, and since i like younger guys, tend to date them pretty consistently. i look younger than my age by quite a bit & that means i can date guys within a 20-year age range without a problem.

i once knew a woman who said she couldn't wait until 40, that life starts at 40. i never believed her until this year.

if you look young, feel young, act young, you are marketable at any age. especially now, when guys like older women...

How old is your room-mate??? Age doesn't affect marketability. There is someone for everyone...and single available people in every age group!

Only speaking for myself, but I get lots more attention from males now then I did in my twenties. Being older for me has meant I appeal to younger men, men my own age, and older men...I think Im at just the right age actually, at 38.

Do I appeal to men just starting out, wanting the big white wedding, picket fences, wanting babies? Nope...and glad for that!

good point. Its easier to date a guy in his 40s if you are in your 30s. That wouldn't work if you were in your 20s.

MARKETABLE? Sounds like ya think we're a commodity????

That having been said.....I'm WAAAAYYYY over 30.....I'm 72......I'm definitely Marketable. Why, because, aside from being a pretty good "commodity", if you wish to call it that, the market is also aging....I'm not interested in little boys....
MY market is into their 50s.....and, they find me someone they want to get to know better.

Just my thoughts...

Yes we are!!!!!! I'm 43 and never short of offers. However I do think that over 35 is more marketable since that appears to be when people are deciding what to do with their lives. Maybe thats the age that we really grow up and realise whats important. However over 30 you tend to know what you want and we no longer have the silly giggles ect I think at this age we have more personality and this is also the age when personality becomes more important than looks!

I am 53 and have been chatting with an absolutely beautiful woman and she is 57.
he is probably young, insensitive, and shallow.
When he turns 40 and the 20 something laugh at his attempts he will grow up.
God, he is stupid, has no insight into the future.

Nope, throw them back. By this age the only ones left have a hundred hoops lined up and are not worth the trouble. Don't you all know you're supposed to hook up in your 20s?

That's why women are not marketable in their 30s. We are on to the BS already. They want someone who is young and niaeve.

I'm 36 and can't get guys to stop talking to me! LOL In my 20's, I was a true geek and didn't have a clue. I am still a dork though and proud of it!

Marketable for what? ... I'm not for sale.

If you have a profile on a dating site, you're marketing yourself. Marketing doesn't require there to be a sale in terms of buying anything or price tags!

Something I thought of, when it comes to this subject. I think after our mid-20s (or for some, when the 'freshman 15' hits 1st year of college), we go out of shape, less because our metabolism slows down and due to "aging". Sure, that's part of it, don't get me wrong...

But I think a lot of it has to with the fact that when we're older, we do less active things. We're physically more lazy... not just due to biology, but due to culture. You may be working a lot, sitting at a single desk all day or not playing ball with your buddies, etc. Many people who had a high metabolism in high school, continue to have a high metabolism later in life, too (though not quite as robust, but still high).

Some extra wrinkles and a little less collagen here and there will give a little more matured look... and a little more consistent effort in being physically active would need to be required for the gym addicts to be happy, of course. But as far as attractive looks are concerned? They can last a good long time.

With that said, and among the universally attractive women (and men) in their 30s, a lot which may make them datable or not usually is a result of whether they have kids or not, and being a product of a different life (most likely) than those in their 20s. So as far as serious relationships are concerned, the age difference is the monkey in the wrench, not the actual age or looks.

There is some truth to this, although I think that the cut-off is closer to 35. A woman's age may be a big issue for men who have not yet been married and would like to start a family.

That being said, I do know that some women who work out a lot look incredibly hot into their 40s.

What exactly am I selling - myself??? Why do I need to be marketable? I'm not a hooker.

Geez life is getting more crazy by the minute........................I don't need to market myself to you or anyone else. If someone likes me then great. If not, then ciao.
