I have never really understood why it is OK for a man to prance around in public without a shirt, while a woman doing the same would be considered obscene and probably arrested. I personally wouldn't care to do it (even though mine are quite nice), but I think that I should have the right to do it. I don't know why this has never been an "issue" before. It's simple equality, and there is nothing obscene about a womans breast, that's not obscene about a man's breast. There is nothing erotic about a woman's breast, that is not erotic about a man's.

However,whether or not they like women that do that is another matter entirely. Those who like slutty type of women will be falling over themselves trying to contact them and those that do not will not. I am not saying that a woman is slutty if she does that but she sure looks slutty. So does a guy when he posts pictures of himself with his shirt off online. Just my opinion. God bless. | |

Men are more easily stimulated by visual means than women are. Women like to see a muscular chested man sure...but, men couldn't sit next to a bare chested woman and think rationally at the same time. Seriously, women cover their breasts so that men will look them in their eyes. | |

In 1996 the Province of Ontario, Canada's most populous province, became legally topfree due to a criminal court challenge by Gwen Jacob. Because the highest court in Ontario was interpreting a Canadian federal law, this case has set an important precedent for all of the other provinces in Canada. Attempts to change the law to re-criminalize women have not been supported by Canadian voters.
As a result of the Gwen Jacob victory, women throughout other provinces in Canada have challenged local and federal laws seeking to criminalize the female breast. A Canadian professor has organized the Topfree Equal Rights Association (T.E.R.A.) to help these cases and to educate the world about topfree rights in Canada. | |

A long time ago on another date site I did not show any revealing breasts photo and we went on a date... did t go well because he prefer women who was B or C cups and not women who were DD's like me. I told him I was a B cup in 7th grade and a C cup in 8th grade. I said to him sorry buddy this is how I am made, take me or leave me, he left me because my boobs were too big. I thought wow, thats pretty shallow. yes, i sometimes show my cleavage but it does not mean i am a slut or a whore looking to get laid... I am revealing my true idenity. Big boobs are not wrong, they just grow that way. This forum tread sounds like the Women's Studies program that I earned a BA degree. the course study was about i disliking or hating women who had big boobs, whether they were real or fake, long hair, females who wore make up, and who were dresses like me. i did not fit in because I was not a butch lesbian. When I'm rating pictures I make sure I delete all shirtless shots of men and revealing pictures of women. It seems in the first few pages, in 2004, people kept talking about women putting nude pics up. Was it once allowed to put up nude pics, really? I would have never joined if so.
I saw a few women talking about having big boobs and wearing clothes that covered everything, because the way the clothes are made, people thinking they are heavy, or a lot bigger than they are. But, wearing smaller clothes to show a smaller body, the boobs are gonna stick out and show more. I can DEFINITELY relate. That is so true. If men in general (notice I said in general, therefore not ALL men), were not so shallow and so rude and mean in their remarks, most women would never have to be concerned about these things. That is just a fact, not an opinion.
I have been here roughly a year and a half, maybe a little more now. I didn't sign in for about a 4 month period, so a year and a half or less of really posting here. I only had head shots because I feel so sleezy trying to come up with a particular body shot to please the lustful guys and suspicious guys that think every woman with a head shot is a fat slob. My current main photo was taken on my birthday a week ago as were a lot of photos that evening. I was not intending any to be a boob shot, or even for useon PoF, but my friend kept saying you have to put that on PoF.
Finally, I said yes. I do want to put it on PoF to prove a point to her and anyone else that says men do not contact you just because you show a little cleavage. Well, I am here to tell you that yes they do. I got maybe an email a week without the current cleavage pic. The one week it has been up, I have gotten about 10 a day. So anyone here saying that it doesn't make a difference is just crazy.
A lot of what also makes men write is what you have to say. If none of it involves wanting anything from a man, but implies willing to put out, those are the women that get tons of email. I have read too many forums here not to know how much men hate any profile that says what a woman would expect form a man in a relationship. As well, I can easily see how the women who imply putting out on a date get all of the attention. It doesn't take any knowledge at all to see this. A cave man, or a 5 year old can see it. Men are shallow, so women adjust, period. It is shameful and disgusting, but that is the way it is.
I also noticed how in 2004 so many more men were saying how they did not like to see the boob shots on the profiles and as time moved forward, those men and comments just disappeared. I found that interesting, but it also confirmed my beliefs that society gets more and more base as time moves on, as well as more and more single and more and more angry. The most important thing that will always make me wonder how women allow it all is that it is the ugliest, have nothing to offer, men, that demand women show more skin and that scream in these forums how ugly and fat most women are, yet it is those men that women are downgrading their image for. I think women and men over all are losing their self-respect and self-esteem in this country and maybe all over the world. I find it all very pathetic.

I agree about the loss of self-respect. I've seen a number of postings in Craigslist for instance, advertising as "Live-In Housekeepers" or "Cooks" or "Companion", which were essentially live-in prostitutes. Although they specifically noted they were NOT prostitutes, but still promise sexual favors in return for living arrangements.
There are some really funny profiles here which are obvious boobs shots - leaning over a table toward the camera, giving it a deep penetrating view down the neckline (which should really be called a "titty line" since that's where they are meant to lead the viewer). The profiles say if you're only looking for a roll in the hay, move on. If you're married, move on. They claim to be looking for long-term relationships, but they advertise almost as well as any porno site would. Sometimes even these profiles imply a guy needs to be well-endowed in the wallet to ride that ride. I saw one last night that specifically said they were looking for a "generous man" who is not afraid to give whatever's needed. The way the profile was worded made it obvious this did not mean giving in a humanitarian way to some third party who was down and out...Big boob shot.
I find as many women as men who are shallow, ultra-materialistic, and who don't mean a thing that they say...but are simply saying it to get whatever it is they really want from each other. That may be the saddest part of all.
If women want to flash boob shots, they shouldn't complain about attracting nothing but boobs. They also show that these women consider men to be mindless, penis-driven robots attracted by the cheesiest of things. Personally, I bypass those profiles as "too damned skanky for me". | |

My daughter finds a lot of stuff she is looking for on CraigsList and is alwasy telling to look on there. I just don't. I am never really looking for anything. It doesn't suprise me about seeing ads like that. People are having a really hard time these days and I guess if it is in them to do that, then it comes out. I hope that in the long run, this worsening economy will actually bring more and more people together, for reasons right or wrong, and keep them together because it is just too difficult to live alone. I will usually find a bright side to anything to hope for.
I am probably what a lot of people would call a loser because I never think in terms of money, I figure anything just ridiculously low will more than likely come out in the personality as unacceptable. Mostly I think that way because I have always taken care of myself and do not think in terms of a mans ability to care for me financially. Not that I wouldn't like to be a stay at home wife. I would love it. Not one that goes shopping all day, or lunching, but one that finally has time to write those books I want to get published. As well, I really do ENJOY being able to take care of the man I love, by making his breakfast, washing his clothes, keeping the house clean and having dinner mostly ready when he walks in the door. I loved that when I was married. It was one of the best parts. Back then I did also find that a women who is employed in that way only, MUST find something that she does at least once a week outside the home that is just for her to accomplish something, otherwise, she can begin to feel imprisoned by the seclusion and monotony. I am basically an old fashioned girl who is comfortable with most of the 1950's politics between a man and a woman, as long as he is kind and respectful. Often people think 1950's sexual politics includes the man barking orders and the woman not making a move unless told she can, and forcing her to have sex, not making love. I do not agree with that, nor would I tolerate it. I am not a stray rabid dog, I want to be a partner. For me a relationship/marriage is all about the partnership. Recognizing the other as a part of yourself. I also do not thing that is what 1950's sexual politics is/was all about.
I know there are a lot of shallow women and maybe because I can see a womans side, I do think that most of it, not all, is caused by the greater number of shallow and heartless men that have used and abused so many women. Men are the leaders, pure and simple. Men always say women are the leaders in matters of love and sex, maybe that is true, but men are still the ones that make most of the decisions for a couple and the ones with the stronger personalities and the ones that the women look to for many strengths. We are still the weaker sex in most ways. So men as a whole need to step back up and own their role and accept the impact they have made on how women act. Women wouldn't do any of those things if it didn't greatly affect how men treat and react to them. It is just a plain and simple fact. It isn't a mystery or rocket science.
For all of the men that blame women and womens lib for how men act...I have this to say...
No one, not a single woman, took anything from you. Only you can lay down your power as women laid down theirs for you since the world began. Womens lib was an angry response to the abuse most women have always had to suffer over the millenia. Men are the ones that blew it out of control by willingly and joyfully giving up their own power and responsibilities. If you blame womens lib and women for men being low life azzes, then you are showing us exactly what you are. You aren't fooling anyone but yourself.
For all of the men that are responsible and are a good man in-spite of what the world throws at us all, I commend you and hope you will send me an email LOL (encouragement implied). Don't stop being a good man and don't get down because of all of the women that have lowered themselves to appease the lowered male. There are still a lot of good women here that do not subscribe to todays sexual politics. Thank You, good men, for the integrity you show.
I know I want nothing more or less than a man to be a MAN so I can be a WOMAN and not an object or a slave.

Sorry - I just meant that not all guys suddenly turned into complete "boobs" since 2004.
I'm still trying to figure out how a word that originally was used to describe a stupid person or act (as in "boob tube"), came to be used to describe the human breast.

Course I don't deny there are attention whores etc but let's think a bit more openly shall we. Some people are very comfortable with their sexuality. And I guess..some people do it for a laugh..while others to titillate (whether it works or not..but who cares, they have their own minds). Or a combination.
I saw one I was a bit iffy about, pics of a lady in a couple of poses revealing her voluptuous body.. at least one in lingerie on her bed. Normally I would be against this, it was only one or two pics of a racy nature and the main pic made her appear quite classy in fact (just a head shot). I read her profile..so I viewed her in totality. She wasn't insecure at all, quite the opposite in fact. I decided it wasn't slutty overall..even though I was borderline. She was probably late 30s.
Now also consider women in print and TV advertisments..in lingerie.. Victoria's Secrets models. No-one thinks they're insecure blah blah blah.. They're getting good money to flog a product.
In online dating, men and women are here to flog a product..themselves..and that comes with a bigger potential reward. If they want to stand out of the crowd AND imo, only if they stay true to what should be stated as their relationship intent (an eventual romantic or sexual nature)..I get it.
Now generally speaking....
I don't think it works as they intended, men will just think it's a free-for-all for sex and rip in with slurs and insinuations if a woman refuses to comply, ignoring the fact it's just a method to attract.
Conversely, shirtless pics of men will be viewed as men only seeking sex (when it's staged). So that don't work either.
It turns the rest of us off cos it offends our own moral code. Does it make it right for us to judge? There's a fine line between judging somebody and giving an opinion. We have to ask ourselves.
Personally I side with those in disagreement cos I don't believe in sexualizing oneself to get ahead. But accusations and finger-pointing won't stop people behaving how they choose to.
I don't agree with 'intimate encounters' either but that's an acceptable option on this site. PoF doesn't think it's my right to control what other's do. | |

I dunno, just seems like a self-esteem issue to me, mixed with a bit of desperation.
