| Guys and Their Cars Posted: 8/19/2007 5:37:09 AM | Unfortunately at the end of my shift, people are just waking up, and really don't want to be bothered by some single guy chatting them up. We do try to keep clean at work, but when you're crawling around a landing gear doing a lube job or chasing a skydrol leak, well it's kind of hard to keep clean no matter what you do.
As far as flying what I fix, it's really not a matter of ability, but more of a matter of legality. The A/P CMD and APP buttons are a wonderful thing!

| Guys and Their Cars Posted: 8/19/2007 2:06:36 PM | I feel your pain. I used to work the 2nd shift at my last job. Dating is hard enough without having to work those nasty hours. And when i get tossed into the plow truck for 12 hour shifts, that really puts a damper on dating. But i sure do like the pay checks. Bring on the snow. | |

Why is it, in so many profile pictures, guys like to take pictures of themselves with their cars? or trucks? or motorcycles? Read some women's profiles and see how many are interested in: Harley's, going for drives, motor cycle rides and others in that vein.
On the other hand I have seen so many pictures of dogs, cats, babies and those really unsettling close ups of just a part of the woman like her eye.

| Guys and Their Cars Posted: 8/20/2007 7:38:55 AM | I do love the way some people jump at the chance to play the role of expert, know-it-all, amateur psychologist, and buzzkill all at the same time -- and without even getting paid -- when it comes to cars, genitalia, midlife crises, and such before even bothering to talk to the person they're passing judgement on. Fortunately, such people are relatively rare in real life.
Sometimes a nice car is just a nice car, and a photo is just a photo.
But thinking about this a second time, I don't seem to get my picture taken very often. Those who have mountains of photos of themselves everywhere and doing everything with everybody seem to occupy some other universe from the one I'm in. A car can be something of a special occasion and a reason for having someone take a picture. That's about it. Maybe I need to change my profile and specify that the other person must have a camera.

| Guys and Their Cars Posted: 8/20/2007 10:46:26 AM | Okay Justmeandmax.. That brought way to many mental images. I think we all of us buy the toys that somewhere project us. I mean why not. If we are going to spend the money on something. We are going to make the payments etc etc. We may as well make them for something that makes us feel good, driving it or playing with it. I agree Lifeof leisure. I need to have more pictures taken of me instead of me taking all the pictures. | |

| Guys and Their Cars Posted: 10/27/2007 10:08:53 PM | | There is multitude of reasons for this. If it is a sports car with a young guy, he is proabably trying to show off. But some people may just really like their car's. And possibly, they may have a shortage of pictures and they throw those ones in there for variety. | |

| Guys and Their Cars Posted: 10/27/2007 11:47:27 PM | ^^^^ Exactly. You get a new car and someone's bound to say "Hey, I gotta get a picture of you with your new car" - if only for insurance purposes.
Otherwise, for a lot of us no one's ever dying to take our pictures except at special occasions involving other people. I think those might raise bigger issues.

| Guys and Their Cars Posted: 10/27/2007 11:53:39 PM | To me, A car has always been 'transportation" and nothing more.
Women should be glad that these men don't post pics flaunting their roadkills

| Guys and Their Cars Posted: 10/28/2007 1:46:23 AM | Males of pretty much every animal species either physically compete for mates or use some sort of lure or bait to attract them. While there is the odd fistfight over a girl most modern men rely on on the "lure" approach. Starting in 1960's America cars became the human equivalent of a peacock's tail for many 16 to 20-somethings, and that still carries over to a certain extent today.
Unfortunately relying on a car as bait is much less effective than it once was. Granted there are still plenty of [mostly younger] girls who swoon over a hot car, but if you're looking to date someone over 21 with a better than high school education posing with your vehicle probably isn't the best idea. Girls want to date you... not your car, and they often see it as shallow, immature, and a sign you have nothing else to offer.

| Guys and Their Cars Posted: 10/28/2007 4:33:58 AM | If you can see the car more than the guy, it's probably better that way... At least you know you'll have the ''parking'' option if you wish !! lol | |

| Guys and Their Cars Posted: 10/28/2007 6:35:33 AM | | If someone has something that they are really proud of let them show it off. What is the big deal? Life is tough enough, let people take pride in something that they have worked hard for. Why do we have to be so judgemental just because of something so silly? Lighten up already! | |

| Guys and Their Cars Posted: 3/23/2008 1:18:53 PM | so if a car says a lot about you.. what does me driving a buick mean? | |
|
| Guys and Their Cars Posted: 3/23/2008 3:11:17 PM | | I have a real nice car, but your not likley to see it on here, i don't want to attract money honeys, perhaps they do want girls who are after there cash? | |
|
| Guys and Their Cars Posted: 3/23/2008 3:18:27 PM | To me, a car is a tool to get from A to B a lot quicker.
I don't really care for posing by fancy cars. I don't care for watching football either.
go figure. | |
