She would whip us with the belt when she got angry.I seen her come after him with a butcher knife one night.He was able to take it out of her hands.I guess my dad tired of her and divorced her.This was back in 1971 so I'm sure the laws are much different today. | |

Posted: 7/23/2008 7:13:47 PM | Honestly, I do believe some women believe there is a double standard. Too me, it is a matter of respect. Violence means that you cannot deal with someone as an adult and you have to turn into a four year old and stop dealing with them as an adult.
I have only slapped one guy. I was in a position where I could not get away from a guy I had been seeing and he was grabbing me in front of an audience. I slapped him once open handed across the face and the groping stopped. For me, it was pretty much the end of liking him and I think it ended it for him too. I should probably have found a better way out of it but even now I don't think it would have gone differently. | |

Your talking two different issues here. What do drug dealers and robbers have to do with DV? Guess what? I'm the one who actually hides the vctims of DV. Thats why I know so much about it. The stories I could tell you. | |

Men have said many hurtful things to me or hit me a couple of times - they were NOT real men. They would say later that they didn't really mean it - I am a strong believer in the fact that you can't unring a bell. People should choose their words very carefully in relationships. I've never even raised my voice at a man. I am human though, and laughing at them was really the best release for me. | |

That is when I would like to hit that person and let them know, it is not okay to mistreat anyone.It will not be tolerated. It makes me angry to see people behaving this way, as if they think they can be abusive towards anyone and that they will get away with it.
As I said, if I see someone mistreating anyone, then I want to slug them! | |
