For those that don't like to scroll, update, update, update, takes care of it. Firefox works great so does IE7 and check out your Options and Preferences! You can do what you can on your end. Buy MaximumPC magazine with CD for those that don't want to wait forever to download Firefox2, it comes on their CDs. Good magazine also. This way works so well, you can actually see the thumb pictures and they are not all squished up and weird looking. Get a bigger monitor, do you have a 14" monitor or something? The OS upgrades and updates help out. Sooner or later you will have to upgrade it anyway, that is the nature of the thing. You can already see how it doesn't work for you.
Sound would only be a good thing if you like that. I like it but can see that it would drive others up the wall. Creator of POF if you put in music please make it so that we can have it on or off, like in we go to someone's profile and we only hear it if we have turned that option on from our side. That would help those that don't like the music and also the lower connection rate people.
I really like this set up as it is.

I TOTALLY agree with the above. If such a feature were incorporated, there'd have to be some means of disabling this annoyance for the entire site, NOT profile by profile.
As to the 'colour scheme'......when I copied and pasted the URL into my IE address bar all I got were pages of Gates-gabble. Am I missing something?

Posted: 7/28/2007 1:05:57 PM | It is comforting to see that there are others who see the typos in POF. There are numerous typos (and I don't mean in user profiles or forum posts). I've replied to admin's welcome message and offered to point out some but no reply was received - message wasn't read. He is a busy guy I suspect.
From my own website work I full well know how easy is to have typos slip past me despite my best efforts to catch them. So I have always appreciated and welcomed when visitors to my sites bring the typos to my attentions... and I promptly fix them.
Perhaps if admin were to establish a means to contribute specific website feedback such as typos then those of us who spot them can help him to make an already awesome site better.
Hmm, think I'll try to find another forum to post this also. Wish me luck!

I have dial-up (Hey stop laughing!!!) and all the extras just cause my computer to run slower and/or get me kicked-off altogether. And really...is a song going to make anyone more or less appealing to someone else. "Well, he isn't my type but since he chose a Bon-Jovi song I'm going to give him a shot"!! 
However, no matter what your decision, I love this site

Color - well its ok.....but I'm open to the possibilities of more.
Music - not so sure that will go over well. To much like having a My-Space page.
(But I'd add a song regardless.......)

I do NOT like the idea of music. I want to see profiles not listen to music they upload to it and it is a problem for those with dial-up.
Also, it would be nice to have a feature that keeps those you are not interested in from showing up every day in your matches. This would allow NEW people to take those spots and give you more possiblities. Sifting thru ones of non-interest is time consuming. | |

A loaded question it seems lol
From experience in designing my own website, trying to please everyone with a color scheme is very difficult - due to different size monitors, resolutions, browsers, eyesight, etc. The option of choosing color schemes would help in this regard.
When I first saw the new format/color scheme I felt I was in a more appealing atmosphere, but, I have a 19" monitor and that makes a difference. I do find the color to be a bit bright, yet more pleasing overall. Smoky/muted tones seem to be friendlier on the eyes. | |
