Posted: 7/27/2007 10:50:23 PM | Yes, increasing text size by 2 pts would be nice or switching to a denser font. But narrowing the text boxes back where they were would be better. Also the new lack of contrast between the boxes and the background is not easier on the eyes. White on almost white, or vice versa is much harder to look at for longer periods of time. The contrast of the forum colors is still good. But the only change I see on the rest of the site is that the blue and white contrast has been changed to mostly white. Maybe it's still different in just Firefox. I will say most users of Firefox (I'm assuming) chose basic simple graphics and good visual contrast (between text, backgrounds, and highlighted areas), over huge areas of white space with fancy graphics (like Match.com). But if you want to be like everyone else, it's your site.
I come here because it's unpretentious and people can be more honest on this site (even though I'd sometimes rather they weren't, but I prefer candidness anyway). If you really wanted to improve things (for me anyway), allow me to meet friends of both genders, since I don't expect more than friendship from a stranger anyway. If I also need to meet platonic friends, why can't I do it here as well. Match.com canceled the "friends" option soon after they started up. I'm guessing because paying members didn't want to have to wade through ads where sex was not an option (in their minds). Match even refused to approve my profile until I removed the word "friends" from the About Me section. But since this is a free site we should be able to meet whoever we want, as long as the intentions are mutual. Not all love is the romantic kind. | |

Profiles that play music automatically are obnoxious, but anything that gives me the opportunity to learn more about a person - like what music he/she would share on a profile, is a good thing IMHO.

Music??...No It would be to wierd to go through the profiles and listen to music...Most people wouldnt end up reading the profile cause they dont like the music

And please-- no music on profiles or anywhere else!!
I think you guys should just leave the site alone and leave it the way it is
no i don't at all....this is killing my eyes and the horizontal frame is really wacky....please put it back the old way...

Think not, those ppl are artists that have copyrights and usage requirements. POF should not start a battle with the music industry just because ppl want to put a 30 second chorus of their "most favorite song on earth" on a profile when they could just list the name of the song in words. It sounds fun to anyone that doesn't make a living from their music, but I wouldn't smile at ppl using my creations for themselves without paying me. The alternative is a stylized midi or cover song which is nothing like the original and loses the point. | |

I vote no to having music--it gets distracting and soon you're listening to the song, not paying attention to the profile. Also, song choice may drive away potentially great match-ups before they've even communicated. | |

I've had to change my text viewing size. Everything is spread out weird. The scheme itself is tolerable, but why'd you change the "window" size format? I liked the no nonsense, low bandwidth style. I hope that doesn't change. But could you please un-widen the text boxes. The old way was much easier on the eyes:)"

I have to scroll side ways to see all the page , and if i change my text size , the writing is too small .
Please put it back to how it was .
I will be blatently truthful .....
I avoid websites with too wide window size .
Are you all veiwing it on widescreen monitors or something ?
This is terrible . I wont be visiting as often , especially when my eyes are tired . I get a headache just looking at it , !!
