| Would you date a guy who wore a costume to a date Posted: 10/22/2007 11:26:39 AM | Oh my gosh, just reading your post made me happy...The thought of you in Starbucks with that suit on...Priceless.
If I ruled the world, people would dress in costumes everyday, I've bought evening gowns (and other assorted wild attire) just in case...
You're adorable, and this is just crazy fun. Wish you lived here!
P.S. I once fell for a guy who was dressed as an asparagus!

But maybe you could find a sexy one. A Wolverine outfit might be good if they have a leather fetish. I wouldn't try dressing up as Arthur Dent though or they may think that you just got out of bed and couldn't be bothered to get dressed. Have to say this is one of the funniest ways anyone has suggested to spice up dating.

| if a guy turned up for a date in a costume, what would you do? Posted: 10/24/2007 10:30:35 PM | A Costume?
I dated a woman 4 times before she went nuts just because I was wearing normal clothes! Every time I showed up for the date wearing a shirt, slacks and a tie...until she nagged. "Why can't you dress casual?" The point Is, you can freak some women out with a costume, but on the same token you can also freak them out If all you wore were suits!
Don't ever wear a costume to a date, you'll only be embarrassing yourself. Instead, just get a couple of some nice $800 suits and wear those and alternate them between dates. You won't draw any attention to yourself, until she nags at you, and hopefully, she'll be loud enough to turn some heads. Sometimes a bad date can go good with her entertaining obnoxioous behavior. Then you'll be asking yourself, "Who's the Idiot now?"

I'd swoon to have a date show up as a pirate...
(minus the horrible teeth. don't expect perfect teeth...just not all black/yellow/cruddy).

| Would you date a guy who wore a costume to a date Posted: 10/26/2007 10:50:37 PM | I once showed up at my girlfriend's workplace in a gorilla suit (I did balloon deliveries at the time and was able to keep the suit for an evening) let's just say that the reaction was less than stellar... (Although her birthday was in a couple of days, so I thought she'd enjoy it, her co-workers certainly did. I think if it had been anyone other than me, she would have.)
It really depends on the person. After reading this thread, I can certainly say that I'm tempted to try it myself. But the choice of costume would seem critical. The women posting seem to have very specific ideas of what would be acceptable, and not much that is consistant, short of something representing masculinity.
Personally, If you're looking for the kind of woman that would appriciate that, then by all means, go for it, If the response is negitive, then you probably wouldn't sync up real well anyway, and if she does like it, things may be 10 times better than if you showed up in a more typical outfit.
