The blood is there...and will go away on its own time! Depends on what kind of healer u are i think. Good luck with your remedies, and ps...if u find one that really works u could sell it to the medical community and make a fortune!

Stick your finger in your ear, stick your thumb in your mouth, hold your breath and fill up your cheeks with air. Hold it for 2 weeks and the hickey should be completely gone.

Or you could just ask it to leave. I got rid of my brother-in-law this way.

Also if you look up "strange remedies" on google you might find something.. theres a lot.

| how the hell do u get rid of a hickie??? Posted: 7/6/2008 11:29:30 AM | A lot of interesting remedies have been posted, many of which are obviously of the tongue-in-cheek (or mouth-on-neck) variety.
I especially liked the "pee on it" suggestion, but I suspect this would only be helpful if the hickey were caused by a jellyfish.
All kidding aside, there is no INSTANT way to remove a hickey because we are talking about a bruise.
An understanding of the anatomy and physiology of a bruise will help dispel some of the myths of certain remedies to help relieve it.
A bruise results when capillaries (tiny blood vessels) in tissue are damaged and blood vessels are allowed to seep in the surrounding area.
If the hickey is fresh, then the immediate action should be application of COLD; an icepack or bag of frozen peas will work. The cold serves 2 functions: (1) Help constrict the capillaries and retard further blood seeping into the area. (2) Prevent further inflammation and prevent further swelling that is likely to occur. Note: Swelling will ensure veins are constricted and so, NEW blood cannot get in to help FIX the damage.
This sounds like a contradiction, but it really isn't as constricting blood flow is a temporary stop-gap measure.
Now the "hickey" itself is actually the clotted blood under the skin--the blood that had escaped immediately from the damaged capillaries.
Once the swelling has been checked and the capillaries are allowed to close, the clotted blood remaining is the problem.
The trick then is how to remove this clot.
MASSAGING the bruise (sometimes with a cold spoon) is useful as this helps to break up the blood clots and as well as reabsorption of the dead tissue into your system.
After 24-48 hours, the next step is HEAT application. This will help get rid of the bruise/hickey. What you were doing with the ice was constricting the capillaries to stop further bleeding. Now that the capillaries have healed, it’s time to dilate the capillaries to make sure a lot of fresh new blood can come in and help clean up the mess. Do this with a wash cloth soaked in warm water for several minutes, wrung out, and then applied to the area for five minutes three times a day. As for the use of toothpaste, many people swear by it, but you shouldn't expect a miracle. The reason why it may work is because the peppermint in the toothpaste promotes circulation of the blood under the skin. Sometimes, the mere action of using a toothbrush helps to break up the clot as well, so that the toothpaste has no actual direct impact.
The "coin" method, whereby you press hard with a quarter on the area of the hickey can be painful, but the aim is still the same.--to help break up the blood clots.
To prevent the acute embarrassment caused by a hickey, many of the suggestions posted earlier may help, including cosmetic coverup, clothing (turtleneck). However, I would avoid using camouflage (e.g., curling iron injury looks nothing like a bruise).
In summary then, there is NO INSTANTANEOUS method for removing a hickey. The treatment consists of IMMEDIATE COLD, followed by mobilization of the clot by HEAT and/or MASSAGE.
Of course, PREVENTION is the best "treatment" so to speak, but not too practical during the throes of passion.
Best of Luck!

| how the hell do u get rid of a hickie??? Posted: 7/6/2008 1:13:47 PM | My funny hickey story...
I like to be bitten/sucked...esp on the neck. But the guy I was with was trying to avoid leaving a mark.
So, it was the side of my neck. And he didn't suck hard. So neither of us gave it another thought.
The next day I'm at work. Had my hair pulled back. Was in my boss's office a couple times, talking to him about this and that. I *even* remembered pulling my hair up off my neck, mostly b/c I can't sit still and was prob bored.
So about an hr later I had the thought "neck, neck, hmmm...what was that thought I had about my neck last night? Oh yeah, "guy" sucked on it, need to make sure no marks were left". So I pop over to the ladies room and sure enough, nice DARK red hickey on the side of my neck. NOOOOO question about h0w that mark was made. Yep, and I been showing it off to my (male) boss. Could I do anything more embarassing? Like, did he need to know I had had sex the night before?????? LOL
It took over a week for the hickey to disappear. So all week long I had to wear my hair down and make sure it stayed over my ear on that side of my neck!!! UGH!
BTW...I think taking blood thinners like aspirin prob make hickeys happen easier, and also not taking multivitamins. Because no way did he suck hard enough for a mark that bad! I've been much better at taking my vitamins since then!
