| Who's the funniest person of all time? Posted: 2/1/2008 4:37:03 AM | there are many funny men, past and present and future. There were a few geniuses that were funny without using that four letter word, and I don't mean joke. I loved Rodney to pieces, even if you didn't respect his foul mouth at times, still had to love him. But Bill Cosby has got to be the Prince of Comedy, as Elvis was the King of Rock, So many greats ! What a country we live in!! | |

| Who's the funniest person of all time? Posted: 9/28/2008 10:07:33 PM | I am not sure its possible to annoit a "funniest person of all time" so much of humor is of the time of its popularity.. Voltaire ,Twain , and Swift certainly cannot be ignored if "all time" has any connection to reality.. probably we should block off some arbitrary period ..say ten years and consider the best of that time frame .. say a best of the fifties, sixties etc. . I know its tough to compare such an anecdotal subject but it is fun to see who tickles the other monkeys as much as our own "top banana".. | |

| Who's the funniest person of all time? Posted: 9/30/2008 12:50:18 PM | Finally! First time checking out the forums. Sheesh.
This is a loaded question, as there are so many people with so many different ideas as to what is funny. Of course you said people though. So we can think outside the box right? Maybe your Uncle Mort can make you laugh so hard milk shoots out your eyes. We don't know though.
My personal favorites have to be. In no particular order of course. Can we include Comedy Groups? Because I'm gonna do it!
Louis CK Jeremy Hotz the Whitest Kids U Know Mitch Hedburg Steve Martin Gilbert Gottfried Dane Cook (only when I'm drunk though go figure right?) George Carlin I want to say Dennis Miller but... seriously? Really? "Dennis Miller: I don't want to go on a rant, here, but America's foreign policy makes about as much sense as Beowulf having sex with Robert Fulton at the first battle of Antietam. I mean when a neo-conservative defenestrates it's like Raskolnikov filibuster deoxymonohydroxinate..." Sure it was from a Family Guy episode but still. Christopher Walken John Stewart Stephan Colbert Seth Rogan
This list could go forever.
Cheech Marin, and Tommy Chong.
Me! I find myself hilarious.
Yeah. That about sums things up. The list is longer though.

I"m wondering who everybody thinks is absolutely hilarious. I think hands down the winnder is Dane Cook the guy is a comic genius. The way he uses physical comedy is amazing. Anyone who has not seen him should definitely youtube him. Other then him its Dave Chappelle or Louis CK. So whats your thoughts?
These are all opinions of course, but Doug Stanhope has me laughing my ass off like no one else.

| Who's the funniest person of all time? Posted: 10/4/2008 1:56:12 AM | Right Gupps speaking here: FUNNIEST PERSON(S):
Early days had to be Buster Keaton (already mentioned I know, but just watch him!) and Laurel & Hardy. I would rate these as the early greats, better than all others at the time.
Next again as mentioned the Marx Bros, particularly Groucho. What a talent he had. Bob Hope was also good around this time, however he's very dated now.
Then post war, what about Spike Milligan. His was a natural genius all from his head and life experiences. Peter Sellers was also funny, however much of his humour came from others (the writers) and his talent was to create a character from paper. I'm not slatting him, as someone mentioned watch the Pink Panther films.
Many modern comedians use crudity to enhance (big word for me!) their acts. Doesn't always mean they're funny.
Certainly many mentioned are funny like Eddie Izzard, John Cleese (watch Fawlty Towers, possibly the best comedy ever written), Jim Carey has his moments as do many, many others. I would also say that lots of modern comedians are very over-rated, no names mentioned but I'm sure lots of you will know some of their names!!!
All time great, let's put the cat amongst the pigeons; Winston Churchill.
