Posted: 9/19/2008 3:26:12 PM | thats just nasty, dog, and cats are not clean, period, and should not be allowed on the bads/furniture.fleas,ticks,fecal materials, other parasites, yuck, just plain nasty.i do not care who you are or what you think, its nasty and they are not clean, the are animals.i love my dogs to no end,but are trained to respect my domain, and i,theirs.people say cats bury the mess, they do,with those paws, they get up around dishes, and foods, fur danders, ect, should be trained to stay in living areas only, same with dogs, birds, and i noticed a snake lady on here, snakes are one of the worse, let on bite you after he ate a mouse and the germs and bacteria fester in his mouth a few days.i know i will get blasted, but blast away, and shame on you if you have kids.

I love dogs, cats, lizards .. you name it. They would have their own bed though (and have had.) I don't mind people sleeping with their own pets, but it's something I couldn't do. It's never been an issue because in my previous relationships we both felt the same way.

| Whats with women that invite their dogs into the bedroom to sleep? Posted: 9/19/2008 3:46:00 PM | I have two cats that sleep with me. Growing up the dogs slept me too. Anyone that dates me should be aware of that and be willing to accept it. Cats and dogs are not much dirtier than humans. In some respects they are actually cleaner. It may mean a little more upkeep in cleaning the house, but any animal person knows they are worth the effort. People that sleep with dogs fall to sleep easier...has to do with the slower breathing of the dogs that will put a person to sleep.
If you think it's gross or not right, don't date that person...they aren't for you. Personally I spend time each night making the cats purr, and do the same in the morning if they are still in the bed and I have the time. Look forward to when I have a woman in my life that wants to be treated the same way.

Posted: 9/19/2008 3:52:14 PM | | I love animals, but there is nothing worse than a dog that is not taken to the groomers and smells. Any man that has a dog should check with the groomers to find out how often they need to take their dog in or at least bath it themselves. I know that men can't seem to smell how bad a dog can smell when it isn't. A real turn off. Who can sleep with the guy let alone spend a night when you know that can't even treat their pet right?

Posted: 9/19/2008 3:58:11 PM | I too have had the same problem, huge great dogs dominating the bed stinking and farting all night long. If that wasn't enough they scartch their flees. I have come to the conclusion that women are subconsiously replacing men with dogs because they can't answer back.
This nurturing business is a load of old twodle because I am sure they didn't have children for sleeping with, maybe they just don't want us getting too comfortable!

| Whats with women that invite their dogs into the bedroom to sleep? Posted: 9/19/2008 4:44:47 PM | I love my dog, and treat him well. BUT he is a dog, and he does not sleep IN my bed, or any other bed in my house... he has gone thru a few dog beds, and usually prefers to sleep in his own space. Mind you I got him as a pup, crate trained him for a few months, I knew he'd grow to over 100lbs, so getting into my bed was never an option
I actually keep a "Pet room" in the back of my place, lol! Living on a farm he gets pretty dirty, and I'm not able to bathe him daily. As for having an overnite 'guest', that's when I've had to send the dog to his room Cause having my dogs nose anywhere near my bed at the wrong time is a real mood killer, kinda like when your toddler comes jumping into the bed
I know a few women that share their beds with their dogs, my dog sleeps on the floor next to me, wherever I fall asleep, in my bed, the couch, or my kids bed. I like that he feels the need to be near me, I do feel safe, protected, & loved unconditionally.

| Whats with women that invite their dogs into the bedroom to sleep? Posted: 9/19/2008 4:51:00 PM | This is a deal breaker. I am sorry to tell you guys but nobody really has to accept your nasty dogs spit all over them. Dogs breath will ruin the moment immediately. Its really an issue of you respecting his/her space too. Relationships are about compromise and sacrifice and im not willing to sleep with the dog. Some guys will put up with it just to get "SOME" but I wont. I have seen this situation and I steer clear away from it. They care more about dogs than they do human beings in most cases and thats sad part. In the past my dogs were always contained when I had visitors. I have always loved dogs and always will. A former girl friend kissed her dog in the mouth while were in the bed and that was the last time I visited her. Sorry, I dont kiss dogs and I dont apologize for that. LOL. | |

Posted: 9/19/2008 5:15:06 PM | | you don't have to apologize, its nasty.dogs are not clean, they have bacteria, its just not compatible to humans, usually.however, you can get mites, worms, and a variety of other nasty little things from critters.mine are spoiled, they are my other children, but they sleep on the floor, and i had better not catch them on my furniture,or out they go,rain, snow whatever.trust me,they know.animals are not people, they are animals, and have to know their pecking order.i have to wonder what else a women how lets the dog lick her mouth is doing with it?

| Whats with women that invite their dogs into the bedroom to sleep? Posted: 9/19/2008 5:19:21 PM | Hey , don't date women that do this . Simple.
A woman lets her dog lick her all over her face and then wants a kiss from you. Yeah, gross, I agree. That's why I don't do the dog thing either. I like dogs , but I don't like my woman's face to be glistening with dog spit. The only thing I want glistening is snow in the lane at christmas time so it's a winter wonderland.

| Whats with women that invite their dogs into the bedroom to sleep? Posted: 9/19/2008 5:24:15 PM | | I had a 90 lb Pitt...when I was married.. I use to let him sleep in the bed all of the time. Especially because my husband worked third shirt, occasionally. Women are naturally cuddly.. most of us are.. and dogs love attention. Overall, it's company. | |

| Whats with women that invite their dogs into the bedroom to sleep? Posted: 9/19/2008 5:35:27 PM | This is not just a women issue.... There are men that do this too..... I had a relationship with a man who let his dog sleep with him every night, so even when I would stay over she was there snuggled up in the bed..... makes it just as hard for women to stay focused as it does a man....... it kinda felt like his kid was watching us..... Not a good thing...... And I love dogs..... just not in bed !!!!! | |

| Whats with women that invite their dogs into the bedroom to sleep? Posted: 9/21/2008 11:53:32 AM | My "puppy" always stayed with me when I slept alone. He is no longer with me, but to your response I had a conversation with a man similiar to this. My response when he implied he would not sleep with a dog in my bed, and didn't understand it sleeping with pets ( mind you he did not have an invitation!!!) ...I simply told him if he was man enough take his place....he was man enough to have it. Puppy was a 80# pit bull, all muscle and all heart. A total mush.....but very protective, he was the best dog I ever had. You can guess at who stayed in my bed !!!! | |

| Whats with women that invite their dogs into the bedroom to sleep? Posted: 9/21/2008 1:00:33 PM | My dogs get dental care & treats that keep their breath fresh, teeth are brushed daily, are bathed weekly & brushed daily. They receive parasite preventatives. They have been trained not to lick in the face unless invited...I never do but I have friends that do...I clean their feet after using their litterbox (the 2 small dogs & yes if treated like a dog even small ones are real dogs) & clean the feet of my larger dog before he comes back in the house. And yes the small ones do sleep in my bed. All 3 are crate trained.
Now the man who can clean himself after a bowel movement so he doesn't have "tracks" in his shorts, has fresh breath, wipes his feet before entering the house, is obviously regularly groomed & refrains from insulting me before ever (if ever) meeting me may be fortunate enough to get invited to my home for an overnight.
I do have children & when they needed to they were welcome to sleep with me no matter what I was engaged in at the time. They came first.
Why do I have dogs? They teach us to love unconditionally. They entertain us. They protect us. They believe we are always wonderful & desire to always be with us. They never insult us. They bring joy, contentment & better health.

| Whats with women that invite their dogs into the bedroom to sleep? Posted: 9/28/2008 1:10:18 PM | Better question is .. what's up with people who have a problem with your dog in the bedroom?
First of all my dog is not "invited" anymore than I am invited .. He lives here as I do.. He is a 10 pd Papillion and wears the furrey pants, no doubt... but that's fine because he is my baby....
My dog is almost 17 years old and I have been blessed to have him since he was 3 months old.. He determines where he wants to sleep ( bed or carpet/floor) but now that he has serious aged related health issues and recently lost his sight ,along with some agility/mobility, he sleeps beside me on the bed with his own pillow and has his own blanket and snuggles under it in winter with me...
I could not love him anymore than if I gave birth to him..He is the first face I see in the morning and everyday with him is a miracle and blessing...
This has not been an issue in any of the relationships I had had throughout the years... It works out.. If a man has an issue with my dog, I have an issue with that man and it won't work
