If you keep your dog clean.... make sure it does not have fleas... wash your sheets weekly.... what is the problem with a dog in your bed anyway?

And to the other guy who posted that they should be on the porch or in a dog house, you should never have a pet. They are not lawn ornaments to be chained to a tree and ignored.(sorry don't know how to do the box thing)

Ya i said that, because I don't think pets should sleep in the bed with me, doesn't meen I don't love them and play with them and show them affection. I just think there should be rules set in place with pets.
People say oh ya they're like my chilrdren, would you alow your child to sleep with you until there 18????

beachesifnc,
My dog on the other hand did not like being crated from the start. He has a modified den that he likes to bury his head under and hide his toys, but his favorite place is wherever I am.
If I am in the bedroom, he is in the bedroom. He does respect me as an Alpha, but considers us a pack.
Thus, if I introduce a new "dog" into the pack, he will want to include himself, because it is also his bed since he is in the pack. He is not confused about who is boss, and nobody will ever hurt "The Mommy" (yes, I said that), but I have conditioned him to a certain amount of entitlement, too.
Sometimes I love when my 120 lb. dog is laying up against my back.
However, when you are trying to be romantic and your choices are barks, whines, scratching from another room or a wet cold nose in the butt or some sensitive licking, it is pretty much a mood killer. I keep trying to tell my guy friends that he will be very gentle.
In the throes of passion: "Honey, what happened?"
Your dog just stuck his nose in my A$$ and then started to lick my balls!"
Or how about engaging in kissing, and having the dog staring at the other party with curiosity and try to join into the affection-fest?
I can see why even dog lovers cannot accept this sort of romantic encounter.
I think they are really just jealous because my "doggie's" thingie is bigger than theirs and he also has a much longer tongue. That is the real reason why men don't like women with dogs!
Ooh, well I am not the one that brought up the subject of bestiality and zoophilia. Maybe the issue is really with the men who suffer from penis envy and tongue envy?

Yep, it's just you. The dog will be there long after you've flown off into the sunset.

LMAO ~ so sad, but soooooooooooooooo true.

~OT~ I don't have a dog of my own, I lost him Christmas morning. BUT, my roommate works out of state 90% of the time so her dog is my dog. She is his owner, I'm his herd. (He's a herding dog, it's his job!!! I'm the only sheep here. ) I live out in the country, and I learned long ago, this dog is not about to let ANYONE near me who shouldn't be. Why is this? I take him for ice-cream everynight. "Stranger vs. Ice Cream Lady? Hmmm.....better get rid of the stranger." I'm no dummy ~ men might exist in my life for today, he's going to be my protector until he dies. If the man in my life (let me restate that, if a man falls from the sky and into my front yard) isn't a pet person ~ he's not the person for me. The dog stays.

Here's my two cents as a "crazy" dog owner...

1. The dog lives in my house - YOU don't. If you don't like it, don't let the door hit ya in the ass on the way out.
2. She will be here long after I've dismissed your sorry ass for being such an insensitive jackass. My dogs have been with me through breakups with total jerks.
3. Normally my dog sleeps on the floor beside the bed, or on a dog bed on the other side of the room, but every once in a while, she wants to come up on the bed with me, and I'm NOT going to throw her off.

so there

Well I am no woman but my dog sleeps on the bed , the floor, the basemrnt, the truck or anywhere else that she damn well pleases. She was here before most women and is here after they are gone and its her house not theirs. If they dont like her as far as she is concerned they dont need to let the door hit them in the ass as they go out it. I also have an opinion of people that dont have or like dogs but will keep it off here. I am usually suspicious of any woman that has neither a cat or a dog unless she lives where its not possible.

Thank You ,Thank You for posing this question! I love dogs, used to have a little Sheltie that was a house dog. Broke my heart when she passed away, but never would I have let her in bed myself & my husband at the time. I would have the same problem dating a man that slept with his pets.Knowing your preference, if you were important to the lady, I would think she would understand. If not then I feel you should move on because trust me there are plenty of great ladies out there that feel as I do. Wish you lived in my area, would have loved to meeting you!

I don't even let my dog in the house never mind the bedroom! Farm dogs love eating and rolling in anything that stinks or is rotton.........you don't want to share the bed with them! Besides if they are in the house who is going to chase coyotes out of the yard and the deer out of the haystack?

Tossed Salad,
That did happen. I am not creative enough to make ludicrous stuff up! It happened!
We tried twice. The first time the dog got involved in the kissing, and the second time was the cold nose in the butt.
Needless to say, he moved on, and I still have my four legged dog.

Nocturnal Princess:

How many times does a boyfriends balls need to be licked before you say hey puppy you need to sleep somewhere else?????

animals have a certain place in the world and being in the same room as you have sex isn't one of them.

Bellsy,
About as many times as a man has to be told to be honest, not cheat, and not to be women. Maybe they are the real animals and not the ones with four legs?
I know many men that go out and hunt and kill for pleasure and not survival.
No, I am not anti-men.
A man that kills for pleasure and I will always be at odds.
When you look at domestic violence statistics, perhaps more women should get four-legged dogs instead of two-legged ones?
Don't even get me started on HUMAN animals, because that is another thread!

Bellsy,
BEAT women not "be" them, but I suppose transgenders should also be honest. Typo!
If my dog is bigger than you, has a better tongue than you, and I can carry out my own garbage, then I am thinking about keeping the dog and not banishing him for your ten second thumb!

I don't have any pets because I like to travel too much. But if I did they would NOT be on my furniture or in my bed.

I saw a woman on here that had an ad, she was so much of a dog lover, she actually took her dogs to get accupuncture...wierd, huh?

What's with people giving services to dogs as if they were human? Talk about money down the toilet.

My sweetheart has two rather large Golden Retrievers. The younger one has always slept on the bed with him, so why should things be different when I'm there? Now I admit that she can be a bit of a sneak. She'll lay on the floor for the first few hours, but if and when I get up to use the bathroom she'll take her place beside him. Occasionally I am left with only a few inches of dog-free space, but she will usually leave after a while.

When I had a cat a few years ago, she was always welcome on the bed, as any man I was seeing was a guest, and this was her home. My motto was a simple one: Love me, love my cat. If a man didn't like cats he was off my list of possibilities.

Tossed Salad,
My sense of humor is often sarcastic. I am not the one that brought up bestiality on this thread, but I do love my dog very, very much, and he does sleep with me and takes a large chunk out of my disposeable income.
It is sort of my version of Torret's Syndrome, but I do not engage in sexual acts woth my dog, I assure you. Don't call the FBI because it was tongue in cheek sarcasm, and you are not the only one to not understand my sense of humor or not find it funny.
Sincerest apologies to anyone that took offense.

Bottom line is.....I never sleep alone. The girls...all 3 of them..have their own times to be on the bed with me but this is a new thing for them as when I was with my SO who helped me find them, care for them and raise them was here, the gate into the rest of the house from the kitchen was locked every night. They know that if they bark for no reason, they all go off to the kitchen. If I have some male person with me when I come home, there's a good chance they will be in the kitchen. They know they will see me in the morning and they can do all of the doggie things they like to do then.

Same for mealtime. If it's just me and the girls, they all lie on the kitchen floor salivating. When we have guests, we eat in the dining room and they know they are not allowed in there at mealtimes.

An earlier poster pointed out that it is all in the rules our furry friends have from day one. If you are meeting someone who has a pet and has not had that pet during a relationship, you may be a bit taken aback by what is normal in that household. Flow with it....although I have to say that letting the pet stay in the room while things are happening is a bit of an issue for me...I don't care for that kind of threesome.

RE: Message 119,
That Albino Python that was merely a photo op but a kewl picture is not mine. Clearly, he was much too big to slither in and out.
You have no idea how many Class Acts from POF have emailied me with a lame "I've got a snake for you!"
I responded to your email, too.
I am not into bestiality...yet...but when I see him licking his own balls sometimes that tongue looks mighty tempting!
My best friends tell me that I seem to say off the wall stuff just to ruffle feathers. I cannot dispute that tidbit of reality.
